Who is Chris Benoit? I've never heard of such a person. This needs to stop. I'm tired of it from idiots like the two guys quoted above me, and I'm tired of it from the idiots running the WWE. Enough time has passed where we should be able to discuss what happened without all the fighting and the "Who is that because I'm a jackass?" posts. By pretending like he never existed or you don't know who he is, you call more attention to the situation than just normally (read: rationally) discussing it would.

I do wish WWE stop over the top about Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit may killed family for reason, or so. But I am STILL pay the respect to Chris Benoit. No matter what! ![>:(](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/angry.gif) Growth up, WWE! You grow up! Maybe when you do grow up, you will see what a terrible thing he did! There is more to life then wrestling! There's no use trying to reason with someone with limited intelligence. You're talking to a guy who actually said that Benoit may have killed his family "for reason." And no, I'm not referring to the fact that he's "handicapped" and can't write plain English . . . . I'm talking about the fact that he obviously thinks there was a "reason" for Benoit to kill his fam.

You know what makes me sick about this whole argument? This. Do you know how many people ignore EVERYTHING GOOD that Hulk Hogan has ever done in life and this business, all because they call him a politician who kept people down? They won't give the man an ounce of credit because all they want to do is harp on his "bad actions". Yet Benoit Murders his wife and child, UNTHINKABLY BAD ACTS, yet there are some that argue that he deserves to be remembered for the good things he done. Do you know how ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing sick it makes me to see you guys supporting a murderer but giving a wrestling legend like Hogan a hard time because your favorite wrestler didn't get pushed while he was on top? Do you see how ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing intellectually- disabled that is? Anything that Benoit did that was good, was erased that day he murdered a woman and child. ANYTHING! If you're a religious person, then it's called REAPING WHAT YOU SOW! Whatever you plant, is what you get. He planted seeds of evil. Now he's forever associated with it. He made a choice to do what he did. Anyone who feels sympathy because he robbed himself of a good legacy is a ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing moron! Plain and simple!

I had been a fan of his and been watching his matches for 12 years before this all happened. And it's incredibly sad and disappointing, but as bad as what he did, one day can't ruin 12 years of other good memories for me. We will never know what, or why this happened, and without proof or definitive evidence that what he did was anything more than blind rage and a moment of weakness....it doesn't make him a bad person. Everybody "snaps" sometimes, you have a bad day, you do things you will regret....this was an EXTREME case, granted. But it's not like he was a serial killer and enjoyed what happened, I think he lost it for a minute, made a mistake and he regretted it and thats why he killed himself instead of trying to get away.....he didn't want to live with what he did because in reality he truly loved his wife and son and didn't want to live without them. That's my opinion. I guess the fact that he beat his wife years prior to killing her and she took out a restraining order and filed for divorce, doesn't matter. I'm sure your statement of "he was really a nice guy who had a moment of weakness", is really the truth. ![::)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/rolleyes.gif) The guy was violent with her. It led to him killing her. He was not a good guy. None of you who defend him, knew him anywhere remotely close enough to think you know what he was really like. He played a character on television and based on that, you think he was a good guy? intellectually- disabled! You defend him as if you knew him and none of you did. I judge on fact, not based on what I want to believe. The fact is that he was a wife beater and a drug user and ended up being a woman and child murderer. Enough said. No excuses. He sucks!

I find it sick that people are attempting to justify his actions by saying "He lost it for a minute" Yes everyone loses it. You know what i do when i lose it? I listen to music or watch a DVD or something to calm myself. I don't go and kill 2 people because i'm a selfish bastard now do i? Now if this was anyone else who'd done this then you'd be like "Zomgz wat a bathturd i hop he rots in hell0rz" but all because he had some 5 star matches he had a "moment of weakness" or whatever. Do you realise that he strangled his family? It doesent matter if he was having a ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing moment of weakness or not he still did it and i'm glad WWE is removing his name from everything because the sick ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) does not deserve to be mentioned at all. I hope Chris Benoit is in hell continually getting his ass kicked by Hitler and Satan...

This right here is without a shadow of a doubt the best post on this subject ever. People give crap to guys like Hogan, Michaels, Goldberg, Cena, etc who have actually done a lot of positive things for this business, yet the same people keep Benoit in their memories and try to justify what he did by saying he snapped or was having a bad day. Nothing, and I mean nothing that he did prior to that fateful night almost a year ago will even remotely overshadow his atrocities. Benoit was a performer in a staged sport. He accomplished nothing that wasn't already planned out in advance. Therefore, his "accomplisments" mean absolutely nothing. WWE has made there decision and you can't blame them. Seriously, do you think if WCW or ECW was still around as seperate entities today, they would honor him? Stop fooling yourselves.

Actually, she never did file for divorce. She was thinking about filing, but never actually did. I love how we can't for a moment defend him because we didn't know him, but you can judge him every single bit because you didn't know him, intellectually- disabled! How exactly was he a drug user? They never really did find any steroids in his body during the examinations on his body after this whole thing happened. They found slightly higher than normal testosterone, but they said nothing that would even affect him at all. Tbh, after hearing what everyone of his friends and family had to say about him, I truly believe he was a very kind, and nice guy, and just snapped out of nowhere one day. You for one second cannot come on here and say Benoit wasn't a nice guy, because you yourself did not know him. Two days does not shadow out 30+ years of living. It does on the legacy and memory he left behind, but because he snapped on one day, does not mean he was not a nice guy his entire life before that. I'm not going to use the brain damage excuse, but honestly, it may have caused this, it may have not caused this. Fact of the matter is, he snapped, one day, he just snapped. What the reason for this was, nobody ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing knows. Not one person will ever know, and you can bash Benoit till the day you die, but don't sit here for one second and act like you know why he did it. Only one person knows why he did it, and that one person is no longer on this earth. Benoit gave us 15+ years of magnificent in ring work. Two days changed his life. Do I blame WWE for taking him out of there DVDs and websites and shows? No way. But for one little mention of his name, in quite possibly the greatest wrestler ever's speech, is not going to hurt anyone. Flair wouldn't have mentioned his name if he knew it would cause this much commotion. Flair did what should be done. When talking about wrestling, he didn't bring up the murders, he brought up the wrestling side of the story.

Why can't you guys just leave the memories alone? you are the man! on topic, well, on the topic of conversation now which is not Flair's speech, i used to like Benoit as a wrestler, and was shocked at what happened. IMO, he snapped and killed Nancy, and then in his deluded state thought Daniel would be better off dead with one parent in prison with the other dead. the whole situation is such a shame

There will never be any kind of real agreement when it comes to this matter . . . . and after all, how could there be? I mean, really?
In some people's minds, Benoit is and will always be a legend. They choose to remain fans of the character, if not the man. Others would rather forget about him totally. I can see both sides of that argument, really.
People can justify why they still respect Benoit on a wrestling level, and that's cool. That's fine. What's not fine is how some try to justify of pass off his actions just BECAUSE they were fans of his character.

Either way, right now, he is a murderer. I can't wait to see the people's faces when it comes out that he didn't do it.

Well, one can start divorce proceedings and later decide not to go through with it. Nancy obviously had reasons to want the divorce at one point, but chose not to . . . . which is a shame. She and Daniel might still be alive if the divorce had happened.
