Sorry, not really up to date on this. I know they have PPV. Do all their guys have exclusive contracts? Like for example, could Davey Richards today go to the WWE or TNA if he wished? Does it depend on the wrestler?

I'm pretty sure they're handing out contracts now

I would imagine most of the regular roster have contracts that prevent them from going to either company.

Why anyone would sign contracts with ROH is beyond me. I mean what's ROH gonna do if they don't? I highly doubt they would stop using them.

It has been said that one benefit of the contract is that you get health insurance. If I was an indy worker that would sound good to me if I didn't have another job that provided health insurance.

The contracts were put in place for a few reasons. The first being because TNA scooped out all of their talent with the PPV announcement. ROH signed guys so that the WWE or TNA could not snag more names after the PPVs started airing. It would screw up their storylines & the other 2 companies would be able to sign guys who are beginning to get national exposure without them having to do a thing. The contracts only block those 2 companies, they can still work anywhere & everywhere else. Health insurance is also a key part of the contract. A lot of talent work regular, full time jobs outside of the wrestling business to have health insurance.

Not surprising the mods deleted my original post and never gave a reason why so I'll repeat what I said; 1. Health insurrance 2. Guranteed money and not having to seek out bookings 3. A cut of merchandise sold with their name on it 4. Exposure in Japan and internationally, something local indies can't do

3. A cut of merchandise sold with their name on it Not disagreeing with you, but does what your saying mean: A.) No contract equals no royalties or cut of the merchandise? B.) They are only gonna sell merchandise (DVDs an exception) like t-shirts, hoodies, ect.. of those signed to a contract or C.) None of the above.

I'm pretty sure they just started having contracts. Offers were presented to ROH talent in March of 2007 before the first series of PPV's were aired in May of 2007.

What was deleted wasn't a "Discussion".
