BackstoryDale ‘Rated R’ Clarke had made wrestling his entire life, first as a crew member, then as a referee, and later as a booker. In May 2007 Clarke walked out on his job working backstage with Total Non-Stop Action, claiming that he was “sick of it”. Weeks later Clarke got into contact with Dave Meltzer, giving him the exclusive story regarding Independent Revolution Wrestling, which Clarke had funded out of the money he had made from his backstage work. Clarke promised that IRW will be a blend of sports entertainment and modern independent wrestling, which will give the stars of the indy scene the chance to shine. Clarke also announced that IRW will open their own wrestling school, and that talent from the school will have a job with IRW if they shine. Days later more information went up on the website, including the roster, a mix of well known wrestlers and lesser known talent. There was also a message reading “The Revolution Begins Now!” Title HistoryIRW World ChampionYet to be crowned RosterAbismo Negro Averno Austin Aries Bobby Roode Brent Albright Bryan Danielson Cheech Chuck Taylor Claudio Castagnoli Cloudy Doug Williams Drake Younger Eddie Kingston El Generico Jimmy Jacobs John Walters Kaz Hayashi Kevin Steen Mistico Necro Butcher NOSAWA Pac Roderick Strong Shiima Xion Super Dragon Tyler Black Zumbido Match CardsThe Revolution Begins Night Two22/06/2007IRW World Championship Tournament Quarter Final: El Generico V. Better..Push...BRAINBUSTAH! Also I'm liking the Jimmy Jacobs but...no love for Tyler Black? I also would like to see the two face each other, I actually wrote a match with them fighting off for my fed HWA in booking. Jacobs vs Generico very nice, I had Jimmy use his nail, and it owned.

First everyone wanted to do sign ups now it looks like everyone wants to do indy diaries.
Good roster and good backstory, not much to say apart from that, hopefully you keep the AOTF together, Hope you push Aries, Good Luck

Have to say, I ain't a fan of indy diary's mainly because the whole card seems to be based on dream indy matches instead of story building but a few people on your roster, I do like. Pac for one so I hope he gets a big push. El Generico is also cool so I would like to see him get a few big wins.

IRW.COM Newswire for the week of July 16th 2007
July 16th: You all know the roster by now, since it has been plugged on pretty much every wrestling news website known to man, but just in case, the roster is on the official ‘roster page’. That roster is not a permanent one, as many of you know we will not be sticking too a strict list of superstars, but any changes will be revealed in this newswire first.
July 17th: Our first two shows will be held in just under a week on the 21st and 22nd of July, and will be named ‘The Revolution Begins’. Tickets for the events have been on sale for a few weeks now but there are still seats left. Our first World Champion will be crowned though a sixteen man tournament held over the two nights, with the first round brackets being announced two days before the show.
July 19th: We can now confirm the brackets for the first round of the IRW World Championship Tournament, to be held in just two days. The winners of these matches will continue onto night two, where the wrestler who can defeat all three of their opponents during the event will be crowned the first ever IRW World Champion.
IRW World Championship Tournament Round One Chuck Taylor V. El Generico Austin Aries V. Bobby Roode Roderick Strong V. Shiima Xion Bryan Danielson V. Frankie the Mobster Eddie Kingston V. Tyler Black Brent Albright V. Necro Butcher Claudio Castagnoli V. Pac Jimmy Jacobs V. Kevin Steen
Information regarding venue, ticket prices and door times can all be found on the scheduling page of the site.

Great Card, I'm really looking forward to Aries/Roode the most, Jacobs/Steen and Black/Kingston
My predictions Next Round El Generico/Aries Strong/Danileson Black/Albright Claud/Jacobs
If so that would be one tight card then next round: Aries/Danielson (Again) Black/Jacobs (Awsome)
With Aries winning the title winning over Black But I hope you have a few twists and turns As long as Aries is somewere near the finals
Good Luck, Reply to RSW (when up)

The roster seems good man. Not a fan of indy diaries but I will read this one. I like that alot of bigger names like Roode are in there as well. I see Aries winning the tournament for some reason, not sure why but his name popped in my head when I seen it. Roode/Aries should be great, as well as Tyler/Kingston.

About 1/3 of this roster seems like guys I'd love to see, and the other 2/3 are crapty deathmatch guys and skinny white guys cosplaying All Japan Wrestlers.
If you push the right guys, then this could be great. Otherwise... it could be a disaster.
Mistico and Hayashi totally should've been in the title tournament, over choads like Frankie the Mobster.
But I'll keep following this and see if you can make magic happen.

Live Results FTW: The Revolution Begins - Night One 21/06/2007
-- Pre Show --
Before the event got underway IRW owner Dale Clarke thanked people for coming to watch IRW live. Clarke introduced his broadcast colleague for the show, Scott Hudson.
-- Main Show --
IRW World Championship Tournament Round One Claudio Castagnoli Def. Pac with the Ricola Bomb. (13:31) This was a great way for IRW to kick off their first show. Pac blew the crowd away here, hitting high flying move after high flying move. Castagnoli didn’t know what Pac was going to do next, which gave Pac an early advantage. Castagnoli was not on the defense for long, as he connected with a big Swiss Uppercut on Pac, and followed up with a Deadlift German Suplex to take control. Everyone thought that Claudio would dominate from there, but Pac got some solid offence in, including a massive Dragonrana. Pac then missed a moonsault attempt, and Castagnoli capitalized, hitting the Ricola Bomb for the win, and will face either Jimmy Jacobs or Kevin Steen tomorrow night.
IRW cut to Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black, warming up. Shiima Xion walked past, looked at Jacobs & Black, sprayed his hair and said “You need to try harder” before leaving. Jacobs stopped Black from going after him, and said “Soon they will all get what they deserve.
IRW World Championship Tournament Round One El Generico Def. Chuck Taylor with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh. (14:42) Taylor came into this bearing both a height and weight advantage, and intended on using it to dominate this match. The crowd were completely behind Generico here, and Taylor focused on taunting the crowd while beating Generico down. Taylor attempted to hit the Omega Driver, but Generico reversed it, hitting a Tornado DDT. Generico followed on from there, hitting a series of impressive moves to take control. Taylor would not go down without a fight however, and got a near fall after hitting the Sole Food. Generico managed to recover, and connected with the Cradle DDT. Generico then set Taylor up on the turnbuckle, and connected with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh for the win, and will face either Austin Aries or Bobby Roode tomorrow night.
IRW World Championship Tournament Round One Tyler Black Def. Eddie Kingston with the Gods Last Gift. (18:43) The crowd really didn’t know who to back here, since both men were playing heels during this match. Black had tag team partner Jimmy Jacobs at ringside throughout this match, something that was well observed by Kingston. Kingston started the match by taunting the crowd, but Black took advantage and connected with a quick enzuigiri, and quickly followed up with the springboard clothesline. Black didn’t remain in control for long, as Kingston connected with a Side Slam Backbreaker, and spent the next few minutes beating on Black. Jacobs attempted to get involved, jumping up onto the turnbuckle holding a spike, but Kingston took him out with a running Big Boot. This gave Black time to recover, and hit Kingston with the God’s Last Gift for the win, and will face either Brent Albright or Necro Butcher tomorrow night.
IRW cut to Mistico backstage, when Franky the Mobster walked past, looked at Mistico and laughed. Mistico muttered a few words in Spanish, before walking off.
IRW World Championship Tournament Round One Roderick Strong Def. Shiima Xion with the Gibson Driver. (3:21) The crowd were not into Xion during this match, which probably makes it better that this was a squash. Shiima spent the first few seconds of the match spraying his hair, before Strong laid him out with a running Single Leg Dropkick. Strong followed from there, connecting with a Canadian Backbreaker, followed by the Gibson Driver for the win. Strong will now face either Bryan Danielson or Franky the Mobster tomorrow night.
After the match Roderick Strong cut an in ring promo, promising to plow through any opponent to become the first IRW World Champion, because “Roderick defines Revolution”.
IRW World Championship Tournament Round One Bryan Danielson Def. Franky the Mobster with the Triangle Choke (10:01) Danielson was forced to carry this match, and he managed to make the match watchable. Franky dominated the early parts of the match with pure force, but Danielson quickly took control when he blasted Franky with a head butt, followed by a Dragon Suplex. Danielson then connected with a number of elbows to the side of Franky’s head, before locking in a Triangle Choke. Franky managed to power out of it, only for the Triangle Choke to be locked in once again a minute later. Franky quickly passed out, giving Danielson the win, and a match with Roderick Strong tomorrow night.
Post match the crowd began a chant of “Don’t Come Back” towards Franky the Mobster.
Still to Come: IRW World Championship Tournament Round One: Brent Albright V. Necro Butcher IRW World Championship Tournament Round One: Austin Aries V. Bobby Roode IRW World Championship Tournament Round One: Jimmy Jacobs V. Kevin Steen

The first show was excellent. i like the layout and the detail in each of the matches was great. The card was stacked, imo, and it delivered. The next round of tournament matches looks ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing stacked as well. I hope Albright and Aries win, even though i wouldnt mind Necro taking it from Albright. So glad to see Danielson, Roderick, and Castagnoli advance past the first round. This is looking great so far. Keep up the good work. Drop a Reply to my WWE '07 - 08 please.

Boo to Pac losing but you gave El Generico a win so yay. Bryan Danielson winning is great as well, so overal, great show, Have to say, I've heard him hyped alot but I have no clue who Tyler Black is, I am presuming a ROH guy. Not a fan of Eddie Kingston though so what ever, yay for the win. Danielson or Generico or even Claudio to win the tournament.

I'm pleased with all of the results so far, except for Taylor/Generico. I'm a big fan of Generico, but come, Taylor's better than him, and you know it.
