Black Diamond Wrestling presents an event 5 years in the making, as we celebrate our 5th Year Anniversary Show on Sunday, June 15th. The event will be held at the Bridgeport Eagles, located at 225 Main St in Bridgeport OH. Belltime for this event is 6:00 PM with Doors opening at 5:30, and tickets are only $6.00
This rivalry has been closing in on nearly one year now to the date, where Justin Idol became a two-time BDW Champion. At the time, Justin Idol and Jason Gory were on top of BDW as a fan favorite tag team known as "The Rouge". However, it was Idol and Gory who were the last two men left in an elimination match where Gory had already pinned former Champion Nikita Allanov and the defending Champion Chris Kole. Idol turned his back on his friend and beat Gory by blatantly cheating. Since then, Gory had always seemed to have his number, but Idol has always been able to find a way to get out of the match with the title in tact. In February, Gory defeated three men in the second annual Royal 8 tournament to earn one last title shot, and is cashing it in at BDW's biggest event of the year. If Gory wins, he will become the smallest wrestler to ever hold BDW's top prize, as well as the first person to have ever held the Heavyweight, Diamond Division, and Tag Team Titles. If Idol can defeat Gory one last time, he secures a full year reign as Champion. Anyone who has seen any of their great matches over the past couple of years through out the North East, know by now that they are more than willing to pull out all the stops. However, how much will they put each other through in the Main Event of BDW's biggest event ever, with the added stipulation that to win one must make the other utter the words "I Quit?"
Jimmy DeMarco has earned himself a reputation as a "loose cannon" as of late by blatantly injuring wrestlers, attacking fans, and destroying property. Despite his contriversial nature, DeMarco has the goods when it comes to stepping it up in the ring, and has reigned as Diamond Division Champion since October 2007. Challenging him at the 5 Year Anniversary Show will be a returning BDW Competitor, and one of the fastest rising stars on the independent circuit, Shiima Xion. It has been over a year and a half since Shiima was last seen in BDW, and since then has been wrestling all over the country, as well as Japan and Mexico. He has won many Championships, but the one that has eluded him is the BDW Diamond Division Championship. He was part of the first ever "Tower of Doom" Match where the first Diamond Division Champion was crowned, as far as the historic "Tower of Terror" Match where the Championship was won by Jason Gory. Now Xion returns to the company where he got his start to take on the demented DeMarco. Will the third time be a charm for this world class competitor, or will Dr. DeMarco's prescription of pain be too much for Shiima Xion to swallow?
The former Tag Team Champions, Jake Garrett & Devin Devine are still reeling at the fact that they were defeated for those titles, especially considering that they sabotaged their right to get a title shot. When Facade and Blue Dragon had to defeat them in singles matches to get their title match, it took Garrett attacking and dressing up like Dragon to help Devine beat Facade and making it seem as if he was attacking his own partner. The fans of BDW made it very vocal that the Kung Fu Connection still deserved a title match, and on April 13th, they ended the 9 month reign of the Tennessee Riot Squad. On June 15th, the former Champions will be using the rematch clause in their contract in an attempt to get their titles back.
In October this past year, the rookie Bulldozer made his presence known by laying out Dash Bennett and allowing Nikita Allanov to defeat him in a brutal Casket Match. While they have fought at nearly every Black Diamond Wrestling event since, neither man has been able to get a decisive win over the other. Whether it would be a Tag Team, Six Man, Triple Threat, or Handicap Match, the end result would be Bennett or Bulldozer getting a pinfall on another participant of the match. In the one singles match they've had in the First Round of the Royal 8 Tournament, they were so hellbent on destroying each other, that they both got counted out. Now, on June 15th, they will settle the score once and for all. This time all rules are thrown out the window, as they have been signed to compete in a Bridgeport Street Fight. Not only will this match ensure chaos and mayhem, but there will finally be a decisive winner!
For the first time ever, two of the area's top teams will meet in Tag Team action. The Straight Jacket Mafia have been on a roll, and while Dahmer and Apollyon find themselves contending for singles titles in BDW, they are both looking to make another run at Tag Team Gold, and a win here would certainly do that. Their opponents, Mickey and Marshall Gambino, are former BDW Tag Team Champions that were stripped of the titles in contriversial fashion. Are they back in BDW to regain the titles that they never lost, or to prove that they are simply the best Tag Team not only in BDW, but in the Tristate Area?
Two stars of the Diamond Division will collide in another first time meeting. The fun loving DJ Tom Sharp has quickly won over BDW fans with his heart and determination, as well as his dance moves. His opponent, Mantis, returned to BDW recently and has had an impressive showing against several opponents. Rumor has it that BDW Officials will be keeping a close eye on this match, possibly to determine the next top contender to the Diamond Division Title.
Irate that he was not booked against a top opponent for the 5 Year Anniversary Show, Nikita Allanov has taken matters into his own hands. He has issued an open challenge for any former BDW Competitor to return and face him on June 15th. Allanov claims that he is the biggest, baddest, and simply the best BDW star of the past 5 years, and challenges anyone to prove him wrong. With several returns scheduled for the event already, who will show up to put the "Soviet Shooter" in his place?
Several special appearances are scheduled for this event, as many former BDW Stars have been invited to attend. In addition to The Gambinos and Shiima Xion, June 15th will see the return of former BDW Star Cupac. This fun loving Super Heavyweight has been a part of some of the most memorable moments in BDW History, most of which were a result of him getting ahold of a microphone to tell his epic stories. What does the Dream Lover from California, PA have in store for the BDW Crowd? Also appearing will be a former referee turned wrestler and the first "Everyone's A Winner" Champion Harold Potter, as well as his rival, former referee turned Manager and a Two Time Manager of the Year, Benjamin C. Steele.
