I've been catching some of his matches in AWA from around 88'. Amazing talent, he was doing some pretty crazy stuff those guys had never seen before. Obviously the lucha style was very new back then. If you get a chance to check him out on ESPN classic do so! He's awesome. He jumped out of the ring in one match and the announcers were like "what is he doing? we've never seen anything like this before."
Good times.

Mando was really good. But I think his size limited him. He was the shortest of the Guerrero clan, amazingly short. Sometimes a lot of the stuff he did was awkward and not convincing enough for a man that size to do. Regardless, Mando was for sure good.

I'm telling you he did some things in that match I watched (I think June 3rd) that even today I've never seen. Or haven't seen done that well and that was 20 years ago. I know the things he did was trademark of that lucha style, but he was certainly light years ahead of his time.

Oh for sure, he did have quite an array of moves. I just think he could have been a lot bigger and more well known had he had the size to back up his talent.
