Redden is a good signing, but too many years... he's gonna be 37 by the end of that deal. Yes, I know several defensemen have played well into their late 30's, but its still a risky move, with anyone 31 or older, the longest you go is 3-4 years.

Sather said publicly he was asking for under 4 million and Sather was only going as high as 2.75. Sather let him leave...to expect him to sign for a million dollars less is ridiculous and is taking advantage of Avery saying publicly how much he loves New York. There was no chance he was coming back when negotiations broke off during the regular season. Sather took him to arbitration last offseason to try and pinch every dime he could. We're screwed...Gaborik, Kovalchuk...they ain't coming here. We're just screwed. |
