Malkin signed a 5 year extension, worth 8.7 mil.
Some good news for the day at least.

As much as I love Avery, gotta respect Sather for holding his ground... he is not worth 3.85 million per season, not with a cap at least, and not with other needs to fill.

Rangers trade seemed good. Backman and Tyutin were expendable due to the fact that the Rangers have so many mediocore D guys. I just pray that there is no room for Malik to re-sign. Zherdev I have never heard of but 61 points last year, and he's 23 years old, so I'll take it. And I'm glad Avery isn't coming back because he really isn't worth that money in my opinion. I just hope that by some miracle Jagr will return but it's looking more and more unlikely.

I didn't even know the Wings were looking for a big name and out of nowhere Marian Hossa! Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Hossa... nice.

Jagr is going to go back to the Pens... I don't see the NYR giving him big money. The Rangers are going to be built around Gomez, Drury, Redden and Lundqvist... they need a few more wingers, and perhaps another D before I'd consider this off-season successful.

Ja, The Maple Leafs bought him out, and also got rid of Andrew Raycroft as well. They're currently getting rid of players that isn't fitting in the future of the Maple Leafs.

Like the signings by the Pens.. pretty much rules out Jagr, but that was a pipe dream anyway.
