This topic isnt about Chikara vs. HUSTLE. Its about YLC. Please take the HUSTLE talk to the Puro thread.  What difference does it make? They're both ****ty promotions. This coming from the guy with the half naked man in his sig... But anywho, I like the whole Fire Ant/Gerard final. They've been building a feud for a while, so it's cool to see it finally cultivate. |

If you can't guess who that is by his looks, it's Ultimo Breakfast. It's pretty Ultimo intellectually- disabled, too. Seriously, I know Chikara is a joke promotion and all, but gimmicks like that are just pointless. And Fire Ant winning YLC? LMAO, come on. |

Nice to see Fire Ant win YLC. He's probably the best of the Colony, wrestling wise. I may have to get these DVDs for Brodie/Younger. I dunno why but I love Brodie. Everytime I see him walk to the ring I start cracking up.
I'm surprised to see a lot of Chikara hate on here, although I'm sure it's mainly people who know little to nothing about it, japanophiles, and people that hate stuff just for the sake of hating it. I love Chikara, but in doses. My friend and I followed them up to Trios...then took a break. I usually catch up with the dvds, then attend one of the season enders. Their only problem is a little too much repetition with such a limited roster. It's ok though, lately they've been bringing in a lot of outside talent to make it fresh.

I cant understand why anyone thinks chikara is a joke.
Sorry its not ring of headrops or some dead serious japanese wrestling, but to me it seems rediculous to put down a company that puts on fantastic matches and adds humor to whats becoming an all too serious business. there are still plenty of intense heated feuds and matches in chikara, but theres also hillarious child frindly humor. to me its the total package wrestling promotion.
hetty doesnt like lucha so i understand his dislike of chikara.
Once again, very excited to see all three nights. still need to watch KoT from this year

I look forward to Jimmy Olsen vs. Stupefied and Jimmy vs. Lince. Vin vs. Fire Ant sounds cool, I've always liked the colony so should be interesting. And I too don't know why everyone likes Brodie, I hate the guy.

I will have to check this out for the Brodie Lee vs Drake Younger match. Brodie Lee is awesome and I really enjoy Drake when he's not doing that death match garbage.
Also it's good to see Fire Ant win. He's by far the best one in the Colony.
It sucks that Kingston & Ruckus vs Quack & Storm didn't go down on night 3 but it still looks good.

I really think all three nights look awesome. Vin Gerad is one of my favorite heels on the scene right now. His feud with the Ants has been building since the winter. He more or less, cost them KOT, because everyone picked them to win or FIST.
I really like to check out new talent from other parts of the country, so this looks good to me, despite not being crowded with "names."
...and yes, I am suprised by the CHIKARA hate on here. I think people who don't like it, simply take wrestling too seriously.

...and I love Brodie Lee simply because he kills people. All you guys love your head dropping puro-style guys, so us CHIKARA fans can love Brodie Lee for murdering masked men with big boots.
I love pure wrestling as much as the next guy, but i also love a fun show. CHIKARA has the most fun shows i've ever seen.
....and the whole "Storm taught the Rudos the secret CHIKARA Special counter" is pretty awesome. CHIKARA's continuity is unmatched on the indy scene. and thank god, america's son, Tim Donst is back.

And there's a 25% off sale right now, so throw in another Chikara show and you're on your way! Anywho, I am stunned by the hate for Chikara. I love it! It's just a fun promotion. I love ROH and all, but sometimes ROH can be too serious. Chikara isn't; it's light-hearted fun (and real good) wrestling. The Osirian Portal have so much potential it's not even funny, and everyone on the roster busts their ass every show. It's great. |
