I really hope you plan to bring up some developmental people to build for ECW or something, because that roster seems really really week. It could have a nice U.S. division but I really don't see any strong competitors for the ECW belt at the moment, so it'll be nice to see how you can work with that.

This should be good, but Haz, stick with it for more than a week.
Rated R, you'll definitely make this great, especially with how good Smackdown is looking, and I'm sure you can make ECW work too.

29th June 2008A video package played hyping the path to Night of Champions, including the draft and the shocking accident on Monday Night RAW. The pyro display shot off, and this was followed by the three announce teams putting over their respected brand’s matches. Women’s Championship Mickie James Def. Katie LeaA really good match that was a lot better than anyone expected. Lea is a really good athlete, and could definitely be a future women’s champion. Mickie was in control early on, but Katie Lea came out of nowhere with a tornado DDT, and quickly took control from there, hitting some really athletic moves. The match went back and forth until James caught Katie Lea off guard with a Mick Kick out of nowhere, followed by the pinfall for the win. Post match SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerreo was wheeled out onto the ramp. Vickie announced that she had negotiated with the Board of Directors that instead of two separate Women’s Championship, Mickie James’ title is now interbrand. Vickie then announced that Nattie Neidhart is the new number one contender for the title. A video package highlighting John Morrison & The Miz’s WWE Tag Team Championship reign. WWE Tag Team Championship John Morrison & The Miz Def. Finlay & HornswoggleA decent match to kick off the pay per view. The fans really got into the antics of Hornswoggle, who early on in the match through marbles in the ring to trip the Miz up. Finlay certainly looked like he will fit in with the ECW roster, at one point nearly getting the win after hitting the Celtic Cross on Miz, only for the pin to be broken up by Morrison. Morrison then dropkicked Finlay out of the ring, and followed to ensure he couldn’t stop Miz from hitting the Reality Check on Hornswoggle. Miz followed up with the pinfall for the win. After Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes had made their entrance Ted DiBiase Jr. made his way out to the ring and requested a microphone. DiBiase announced that he had scoured the RAW roster for someone as priceless and under rated as him, and had found the perfect partner… Paul Burchill! World Tag Team Championship Ted DiBiase Jr. & Paul Burchill Def. Hardcore Holly & Cody RhodesAlthough it was obvious that Burchill was carrying this team it was still a great tag team match. Burchill and Holly put on a great fight, their styles really seemed to blend well. Rhodes was distracted and there was obvious tension throughout the match between the World Tag Team Champions. DiBiase Jr. got some good in ring time, and looked quite solid in the ring, although it was obvious he is not used to performing in front of this large a crowd. Holly looked to have match won after hitting a massive Alabama Slam when Cody Rhodes shocked everyone by blasting Holly in the back of the head with the World Title. Burchill followed up with the Curb Stomp for the win. Post match Ted DiBiase Jr., Paul Burchill and Cody Rhodes celebrated in the ring to a chorus of boos, as Hardcore Holly was laid out in the middle of the ring. A video package aired, hyping how Mr. Kennedy had been announced as SmackDown’s applicant into the upcoming United States Championship match. United States Championship Mr. Kennedy Def. Matt Hardy & Chavo GuerreroA really good match that the fans slowly got into the more the match went on. Bam Neely was ejected from ringside early on after trying to interfere, and Chavo was quickly taken out by a Twist of Fate on the outside of the ring, leaving it as just Kennedy and Matt Hardy fighting it out. Both Kennedy and Matt got a number of near falls, and Matt nearly pinned Chavo when he tried to get back in after connecting with the Side Effect. Kennedy stopped the pinfall however, and connected with the Mic Check for the win. ECW Heavyweight Championship Mark Henry Def. Kane & Big ShowNot the best match by any means, these three just went at it. There was not wrestling here, just a lot of striking and brawling. None of the three managed to get any advantage here and the match went back and forth between all three. This match was kept short, with an ending stretch consisting of Kane connecting with the Chokeslam on Big Show, and walking straight into the World’s Strongest Slam from Henry. Henry then hit a big splash on Kane for the pinfall to become the new ECW Heavyweight Champion. A video package highlighting the Shawn Michaels/ Chris Jericho feud aired, and that as announced on WWE.COM the two will go one on one next. Intercontinental Championship Chris Jericho V. Shawn Michaels went to a Double Count OutThis was an incredible match with both men going all out. There was an obvious story between these two, and the crowd really bought into it. These two were more interested in hurting each other, so the early parts of the match were a pure brawl before the two attempted to outwrestle each other. There was a lengthy period where both men were countering everything the other threw at them, before Michaels connected with a Superkick out of nowhere. Jericho managed to kick out though, while Michaels did the exact same thing when Jericho hit the Codebreaker. The match eventually went to the outside and into the crowd. The referee had no choice but to count the pair out while security attempted to separate them. NOC cut to the World Heavyweight Champion Edge backstage. Edge cut a promo on his upcoming World Title match, promising that the World title is not leaving SmackDown, and that it would remain around his waist for the immediate future. World Heavyweight Championship Edge Def. BatistaThis match was a lot better than most people were expecting. Edge and Batista worked a solid back and forth match right from the start, with Batista using his strength to his advantage. Chavo Guerrero tried to interfere on behalf of Edge early on but was met by a massive Spinebuster, while both Edgeheads were taken out moments later. Edge used the distraction to his Batista with a big dropkick, and to quickly take control. Both men hit some big moves as the match went on, and there was several near falls. Batista went for the Batista Bomb at the end, but Edge managed to get out of it, and sent Batista shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Edge followed up with the Spear for the win. As Edge and his ‘family’ got into the backstage area they crossed paths with WWE Champion Triple H. There was a tense stare down between the pair, before Edge told Triple H that he just proved that he is the top dog on SmackDown. Triple H told Edge to “keep watching” before walking off. WWE Heavyweight Championship John Cena Def. Triple HThis was a superb main event, and it really had that big match feel to it. Both men went all out right from the start, not giving an inch. Cena attempted to put Triple H away early with an STFU, but Triple H powered out of it and really went at Cena with some stiff shots. The match went back and forth before Triple H started working at the legs of Cena, who found it hard to pull of his signature moves with the damage done to his leg. Triple H set Cena up for the Pedigree, but Cena managed to counter it into the FU, which he successfully hit. Triple H kicked out at the last second, and made a startling comeback, but accidently knocked out the referee with a missed clothesline. Triple H hit the Pedigree but Edge made the run in, hitting Triple H with the Spear when he turned. Cena crawled over to make the cover, and the referee recovered to count the three, giving John Cena the win. As Night of Champions came to an end John Cena celebrated winning the WWE Heavyweight Championship, unaware of the interference by Edge, who stood at the top of the ramp with the World Heavyweight Championship, grinning at a downed Triple H.

I liked Night Of Champions, guys. The outcome, in my opinion was very realistic, and I see the 'E going with most of those winners. I like the idea of the Women's Championship being inter-branded. Natalya/Mickie should be cool. I'm not too fond on the idea of Burchill being DiBiase's partner, but I did like Rhodes turning. Wow, LOVED Kennedy winning the U.S title. That shocked me!
Drop a reply to Hammers and my WWE 2008?

Loved NOC. Good move on the womens title being interbrand, better idea than two belts. I'm hella happy about Kennedy being a champion. Rhodes turning on Holly was predictable, and once again like in the other NOC, I hope Holly kicks all three of their sorry asses. Edge winning clean was unexpected, but great. I knew Edge would interfere in the main event, but it was still good.
Please don't rush right into Edge/HHH though
HBK/Jericho was great, glad to see the feud continue. I hope it ends with HIAC. Ladder seems too predictable, and both men have been in the cell before. Make it happen, and I'll admire you guys.

PW Insider News WWE News: New Booking Team, Lance Cade, More…
In big news World Wrestling Entertainment’s booking team changed radically a few days ago, when two men by the name of Dale Clarke and Jake Hazuki were hired to run most of WWE in terms of booking and talent. Night of Champions was booked by them, and from the looks of things they will be sticking around for the indefinite future.
The new booking team is pretty high on Lance Cade at the moment. There has been talk of giving him a big push over the next month to see how he copes and how the fans react. Cade could receive a WWE Heavyweight Championship match sometime soon to see how he handles this big a match.
Both the ECW heavyweight title change and the United States title change were only decided a few hours before Night of Champions began. The new booking team thought that if the titles were left on the new brands that they would not be balanced, hence the title changes.
A number of roster cuts have been made at the hands of the two new heads of the booking team. All have been announced on WWE.COM:
Eve Torres Jim Duggan Mike Knox The Boogeyman

I got a question: Why did you have Edge beat Batista and leave Raw's side without a World/ECW/WWE title? Now Raw is stuck with the IC title, the Womens and the Tag belt...all of which are past their prime [not the IC strap, but that will possibly be a mid-card title forever.

Sorry, man. I missed that, suprisingly. Apart from that, I enjoyed Night of Champions. Only thing I wish was changed was moving the ECW title away from the monsters/big guys to make way for the better talented lil people. Push Katie and Paul Burchill

30th June 2008A video package highlighting last weeks draft and Raw’s side of Night of Champions aired, focusing on John Cena winning the WWE Heavyweight Championship and the Chris Jericho/ Shawn Michaels double count out. The usual RAW opening package then aired, followed by Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler welcoming everyone to RAW ‘My Time is Now’ hit the speakers as the new WWE Champion John Cena made his way to the ring. Cena posed with the WWE Championship before requesting a microphone. Cena cut a promo on how it has been a long and hard road back to the top, but that he has finally done it. Cena began to thank the fans when the music of Shane McMahon hit. Shane announced that he has been in a meeting with the Board of Directors all day, and that he can now announce the new General Manager of RAW… Ted DiBiase Sr.! DiBiase came out onto the ramp wearing his classic Million Dollar Man Suit, and announced that his first order of business is to make an eight man tournament with the winner challenge Cena for the WWE Championship at the Great American Bash, with the Quarter Final’s being held over the next two weeks, and the Semi Final’s and the Final being held the RAW before the event! DiBiase Sr. left to massive pop as Cena looked annoyed in the ring. Cody Rhodes Def. Hardcore HollyThere was obvious bad blood here between these two, and many people were unsure if Holly was seriously trying to hurt Rhodes with the stiff shots he was dealing out. Rhodes looked quite impressive in the ring, and works better as a singles competitor that he did as a team. The match was fairly back and forth before Ted DiBiase Jr. distracted the referee allowing Paul Burchill to blast Holly with the World Tag Team title, allowing Rhodes to get the pin. Post match Katie Lea joined the three in the ring, and DiBiase Jr. grabbed a microphone and cut a promo announcing that the fans are looking at the future of this business and that they will etch the name “Blood Money into the minds of fans everywhere, because that is simply… Priceless. Batista Def. Santino MarellaA glorified squash match. Batista dominated, hitting big move after big move. Santino got some offence in but he was completely out of it after a Spinebuster, and Batista followed with the Batista Bomb for the win. Backstage ‘Blood Money’ was celebrating the damage they did to Holly when Ted DiBiase Sr. walked up to his son. The two joked around a bit before telling Ted DiBiase Jr. and Paul Burchill that they would be defending the title’s next, and that he had paid the best that this city has to offer. Both DiBiase’s grinned as the tag champions walked off. World Tag Team Championship Ted DiBiase Jr. & Paul Burchill Def. Two LocalsThis was a complete joke of a match, and if these two are the best that this city has to offer then there is no hope. The locals were two skinny boys who didn’t get a look in, and where destroyed by the tag team champions, finishing with DiBiase Jr. locking one of them in the Million Dollar Dream for the win. Santino Marella is backstage complaining to a staff member about how his match with Batista was unfair. Kofi Kingston was passing when Marella made the comment, and laughed, claiming that Marella should just except that he isn’t as good as Batista. Marella told Kingston to mind his own business, before walking off. Road to the Gold Quarter Final CM Punk Def. Rey MysterioThis was an incredible match, and really showed that Punk can put on an incredible match. Mysterio wasn’t meant to return to the ring just yet, but he was cleared for competition earlier than expected, although there were obvious signs of ring rust. The match was kept fairly short, but both men went all out to put on the best match they could. The match was back and forth for the most part, with both men hitting their signature maneuvers, but it was Punk that pulled off the win after catching Mysterio, who attempted a top rope move, and connecting with the GTS for the win to advance in the tournament. RAW cut to Shawn Michaels backstage getting ready for his upcoming tournament match. Chris Jericho walked up to him and the two shared a tense stare down. Jericho warned Michaels that he should have just laid down last night, and that he better watch his back. Michaels told Jericho that everyone knows who the better wrestler is, before walking off. Road to the Gold Quarter Final Lance Cade Def. Shawn MichaelsThis match was an excellent match, and really proved that Cade can put on a great singles match. This was easily the match that could propel Cade to big things, as he didn’t need Michaels to carry him as many people thought. The match went back and forth for the opening parts of the match, and Cade slowly began to take control with a mix of power moves and technical maneuvers. Cade began working on the back of Michaels, who came back with a big flying forearm. Michaels was red hot, hitting several big moves before setting Cade up for the Sweet Chin Music. This was when Chris Jericho’s music hit and Jericho made his way out onto the ramp. Michaels and Jericho began shouting at each other, giving Cade time to recover, and blast Michaels with a big boot when he turned around. Cade then followed up with a massive Lariat for the win. As RAW came to an end Lance Cade celebrated the massive win, while Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho just laughed at the downed Shawn Michaels.

Raw was a solid show, the opener was a nice read and it's awesome to see Ted DiBiase Sr as the General Manager, I can only presume he is going to be slightly biased towards his son, Ted DiBiase Jr.
Opening match was good enough, Cody has been growing on me and needed the heel turn, liked the involvement of Ted DiBiase Jr and Paul Burchill, nice pic for Ted's partner by the way.
Batista killing Santino is cool, mainly because I am not much of a Santino fan but alas, Batista needs a feud or angle on Raw, a friend vs friend angle with Rey Mysterio would be fun in my opinion, as long as Batista isn't the dad to any of Rey's children. ¬_¬
I knew it, Sr would be showing love to Jr, best of what the city has to offer, I liked that, obviouslly I am happy Ted & Paul retained the titles even if the match was a joke.
a Marella/Kingston angle could be fun, I hope Kingston comes out on top and gets an IC title push like in real life.
Surprised to see CM Punk defeat Rey Mysterio in Road for the Gold but I am not bothered by it, both men are solid workers so all is well, I can see Punk getting in to the final to be honest.
Surprise of the night, I dig the Lance Cade push, WWE needs more stars, Lance Cade getting the win as stated was a surprise and I could see him reaching the final to face Punk to be honest, the Jericho/Michaels feud is going great as well.

1st July 2008A short video package about Night of Champions aired, focusing on Mark Henry winning the ECW Heavyweight title. The ECW opening video then aired, followed by Mike Adamle & Tazz running down tonight’s show. ‘Some Bodies Gonna Get It’ hit the speakers as new ECW Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry made his way to the ring. Henry cut a decent promo about how ECW has finally got a decent champion, and the fans now have a reason to tune into ECW. Henry promised that anybody that gets into the ring with him will feel the full force of the World’s Strongest Man. Bam Neely Def. NunzioAlthough Neely is nothing special in the ring this was still an entertaining match. Nunzio spent most of it trying to run away from Neely, who then proceeded to take his head off with a Big Boot. Neely followed up with a massive power bomb for the win. ECW cut to Matt Hardy backstage. Matt promised that even though he has lost the United States Championship he plans on wearing gold again very soon and that after he takes out Chavo guerrero tonight, he is coming for Mark Henry. Elijah Burke Def. A LocalNot a long match. Elijah Burke dominated, bringing in more of his boxing style here, and eventually getting the win by Knockout after a brutal uppercut. Finlay was backstage with Hornswoggle, with Hornwoggle playing with marbles. Elijah Burke, who had just wrestled walked up to them, and told Hornswoggle to go and play with the other little kids. Finlay got in Burke’s face, while Burke just grinned, sarcastically welcomed Finlay to ECW, and walked off. Matt Hardy Def. Chavo GuerreroThis was a great match, although it did just come short of their triple threat match at Night of Champions. The match went back and forth, with both men hitting some quick moves early on. Matt took control mid way, nearly getting the win after hitting the Side Effect. Bam Neely tried to interfere but Matt Hardy hit him with the Baseball slide, and he was promptly sent backstage by the referee. Chavo attempted to hit the three suplex’s, but Matt reversed the third, and hit the Twist of Fate for the win. A video package aired, featuring a red and black alteration of the English flag. A voiceover hyped that “Britain’s Next Big Thing is coming to ECW” Please welcome Jack Gabriel, coming soon. Mark Henry Def. Stevie RichardsWhat at first looked to be a squash match turned out to be a solid entertaining match. Stevie focused on just surviving against the World’s Strongest Man, utilizing a hit and run tactic, before Henry eventually grabbed hold of him and blasted him with a massive forearm. Although Henry proceeded to control the match it lasted another five minutes with Stevie hitting some ineffective moves and Henry finishing him off with the World’s Strongest Slam. As ECW came to an end Matt Hardy made his way out onto the ramp and signaled to Mark Henry that he is coming for the ECW Heavyweight Championship.

ECW was what it was man. Chavo/Hardy looked interesting. Didn't like the other matches on the show though. Not liking Richards in the main event, should have been squashed imo. The ending with Hardy was cool. Hardy/Henry should be horrible but hopefully Hardy wins the belt from Henry.

ECW was alright, I agree with Iconz that Stevie Richards shouldn't have been in the main event because of his jobberish nature but giving Henry a win is solid. Not to sure who Jack Gabrial is but another british wrestler coming in is awesome, I hope he has a decent run with ECW. GAB should be a good show, I can see John Cena vs CM Punk main eventing if not John Cena vs Lance Cade.

July 4th 2008
A video package highlighting the Smackdown end of Night Of Champions aired, focusing on the Edge/Batista match and Edge attacking Triple H during his match with John Cena. Following this good ol’ JR, Jim Ross and ‘The Hardcore Legend’ Mick Foley welcome us to the show.
The theme music of ‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge blasts over the arena as he, GM Vickie Guerrero and The Edgeheads Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder enter the ring. Edge shows the world heavyweight championship to the crowd with a sinister smile on his face, as the crowd boo. But he didn't do the talking as Vickie Guerrero says that next week the world will witness the greatest wedding in history, the wedding which, will, smash rating of all the fans other favourite shows. It will be the wedding of the year, that everyone will want to see. Edge then grabbed a microphone, he says that the Smackdown is going host a party only fit for a king and queen next week [during this he looked into the eyes of Vickie] As Edge was talking, he was cut off by the theme music of ‘The Game’ Triple H. Edge then shouts at Triple H to go-away. Vickie then says if Triple H does anything to try and mess up the wedding next week he will have hell to pay! The Game says he will give them a wedding surprise next week. Guerrero says that she has a surprise for Triple H and he wouldn't need to wait for next week, at the Great American Bash Triple H will get in the ring with Edge but not only Edge as it’ll be a six man tag! Edge then says that his partners are Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, and he cant wait to see who Triple H’s partners are since he has no friends, no one likes him on Smackdown, he laughs as Smackdowns goes to a break.
John Morrison and The Miz def. Jesse and Festus Morrison and Miz started off cocky, slapping Jesse over and over until Jesse made the ‘hot’ tag to Festus after breaking away from the Morrison/Miz assault. Morrison and The Miz didnt try any cocky moves on Festus due to his huge size, and his massive power. Although he couldnt put Morrison or The Miz down, as Morrison hit him with a ‘low blow’ and then getting the pin-fall. A pretty fun enjoyable match in the end, nothing extremely great. The Miz and Morrison pose with their titles post match.
Backstage, Edge is talking to the Edgeheads [Zack and Curt] he tells them that they can be his partners him the six man tag at the Great American Bash. They agree as Edge smiles. Edge tells them that tonight they should soften up Triple H tonight.
A video airs hyping the Great American Bash. [Featuring Triple H, Edge and John Cena]
Back in the ring, Brian Kendrick says he wants to show Smackdown he is great, he says that he wants anyone to face him one on one tonight. The music of Jeff Hardy hits over the arena, they will face off one on one NEXT!
Jeff Hardy def. Brian Kendrick A very fast fun match, although Kendrick didnt get much moves in but still showed he can be in ‘bigger’ singles matches and preform well. Hardy won following a sick Twist of Fate. Post match, Hardy goes to shake the hand of Kendrick who then walks away. Hardy looks confused as he leaves the ring.
Backstage Kendrick is interviewed he is asked why he didnt shake the hand of Hardy, he answers saying that he is his own man now, he doesnt just do things just because other people tell or ask him too.
A promo video airs for Umaga, it shows him off destroying some jobbers.
Victoria def. Maria Victoria dominated this, in a kinda standard diva match. Noting much to write about on it at all. Post match Maria gets helped up while the fans cheer her on.
M.V.P is shown in the backstage area, looking at the latest WWE magazine looking at the pages which he features in, he says that he looks great in it and comments how he is fantastic at the sight of turning the page he sees The Big Show he says that he is a fat slob. Not knowing that Show is behind him, Show asks what he said, as he sees that Show was there he tries to run away but trips over some camera wires he panics as Show laughs.
Big Show def. a local jobber Emm... a squash match. Show hurt the poor man. Show slapped the guy til' he turned red, he might still be the same bright red colour now Post match, he says that this is what will happen to MVP next time they meet.
Backstage Shelton Benjamin is seen training, running around, up and down stairs. He then says that he is gunning for the US title.
Then Vickie Guerrero is seen telling Edge to get Triple H down and out, so he cant do anything to their wedding.
Triple H vs The Edgeheads is NEXT!
Triple H def. The Edgeheads Triple H smashed both up, using his raw power. He really showed why he has won the WWE championship so many times. The twp Edgeheads tried fighting back but they just didnt have the power of 'The Game' Even with the two of them. Pinning both at the same time following two Pedigree’s on them. both After the match he toyed with them saying Edge is going to down at the great American bash but he is then attacked by Edge, who, then smashes his head with a steel chair it then became a three on one assault until Jeff Hardy made the save, saving Triple H from further beating.
Following this Smackdown ends. [/center]
