Hey guys,
I received some stuff in the mail within the last week or two of older Jakks Pacific figures I won on eBay, as well as a few I already owned that I opened, so I thought I'd share some pics.
First, a limited edition 2-Pack from the year 1996 featuring exclusive BCA attires for Razor Ramon and Diesel shortly before they both left the WWF in mid-1996. This pack cost me close to $20 shipped and was in obviously damaged condition, but the figures were in mint condition and this is still a very hard set to come by even now.
Notice the prototypes for one of the original Jakks box sets; Shawn and Bret would end up being released in their Series 1 attire, not Series 2 which is shown in the proto picture.
Loose
Razor, just like his Series 1 figure, is missing detail on the back and the Diesel I ended up getting has a lot of minor factory errors on it (including a missing eyebrow), but it's fine, as I'm just glad to own this set for the first time. And, here is a shot of all of them with their Series 1 counterparts:
Next up is a lot of 4 BCA figures I received in the mail today that only cost me about $13 shipped. Shawn and 'Taker were the reason for me buying the lot, as I already own both Diesel and Owen loose.
And, loose pics of Taker and Shawn:
Tattoo is a bit misplaced and not to scale, but Jakks really went all out on the detail with some of HBK's later ring gear BCA figures.
Here are a few Backlash Series figures I already owned that I decided to open, with a bit of a story and another figure to be talked about later in this post. But, first, a 'Heck Yeah' Steve Austin, ugly as Undertaker and another repaint of Billy Gunn:
With the leg tat:
Here is a STOMP Series 1 Austin I also decided to open for no reason at all (posted the back carding in the recent STOMP thread, too):
Yeah, you Jakks accessories of 2008
Next is another figure I decided to open, and it turns out, I came to really like it. This was when Jakks had introduced a newer, taller BCA style around 2001-2002, and I had no idea how similar this style was to the original BCAs. Yes, they are almost an inch taller than original BCAs, but the limbs are all rubber and the real scan technology definitely makes these look a lot better. After opening this Hogan, I bought a few others on eBay (Angle, Benoit, Dudleyz), and I'll post pics of them once I get them. But, for now, here is the Backlash Series 2 Hulk Hogan:
Check out the early RA prototypes, including Lesnar and Cena:
Loose
omg
And, finally, the story I referred to earlier that I was going to mention. Well, about a week ago, I had just recently opened the Austin/Taker/Billy Gunn Backlash figures and out of the blue, I was in the mood to check out an old WWF magazine. I randomly picked April of 2001 with Kane on the cover and as soon as I turned to the WWF Shopzone merchandise part in the middle, I was surprised to find this:
Why was I surprised? Because one of the two Austin Backlash figures I opened (The 'Heck Yeah' one is shown above) was this KB Exclusive Backlash Series Austin figure...
...talk about a strange coincidence. I mean, out of all of the WWF magazines I could have picked, it just happened to be this one RIGHT AFTER I had opened this Austin figure. Pretty strange, indeed.
Well, that's all for now, so thanks for looking and I hope the pics didn't take too long to load.
