Not in the slightest. It's become one of my 'things' among my friends. Dan collects wrestling figures. Whenever I get something through the post my housemates ask who I've got and none of them have an interest in wrestling since 2000. I get asked now and again 'but what about when you bring girls home?' but its never been a problem, its suprising what pillow talk I can make out of it.

yeah i do if my anyone at my school found it out i would get killed I feel ya brotha, except it actually happened for me. My friend found out at the beggining of 8th grade(last year) and told all these guys in my class. they bribed me to keep it a secret. One day they wanted me to bring some in and if not they would tell, well I did and my teacher made a huge scene and all these chicks were watching and my god was it embarrising. But apperently it didn't affect what they thought of me that much because I ended up going out with about 2 of them this year. At least its over and they dont mention it that often anymroe.

Depends on who comes over. Same thing here. I really dont get embarased if I know that somebody is gonna be super judgemental about my hobbies and use them to characterize myself ill put them in boxes.

Depends on who comes over. Same. When my other friends from another town close by come over I just put them in my closet, I forgot to put 2 of them in my closet, he probably thinks I'm gay. I don't care though.

everyone thinks its kool, i don't play with them but when i go to get something to eat or to the toilet, i come back & there ometimes playing with them, mainly my DIVAS! LOL, which i got rid of a few months ago as they kept falling down. I sometimes feel awkward at TRU & all that when the kids laugh & i just say, you only jelous cous you cant get this figure, cuz i get decent ones & they just get Cenas, Lashleys & that sh*t, LOL.

Yes especially where I live. 1) Wrestling is extremely unpopular & 2) People give me very weird looks when I am in the WWE Figure section.

I don't get embarrassed about it with my friends or family. They all know I collect lots of figures- Star Wars, various superheroes, and mostly wrestling. Most of mine are MOC and hanging on the walls. I teach 4th grade, and my students all know that I collect figures (this year, I even had a student buy my The Ultimate Warrior CS12), and a lot of the other teachers know, too. They don't seem to think much about it either way.
I guess the only time I'm embarrassed is when the checker at TRU or wherever says, "It looks like you're making some little boy's day." I just laugh and say, "Yep. Mine," and explain that I collect figures. They usually think I'm weird, but I won't see them again until next time I'm there anyway. lol
So, yeah, I figure that I like to collect, so I don't really care if someone else doesn't like it. Of course, my collection isn't all that big, either (around 75 figs or so).

Well, in a way. I'm not embarrassed by collecting them or playing with them. However, the only problem I have is buying them at a store. That's why my bro goes with me, and he pays at the register lol (not all the time though). My parents know I still collect. My dad doesn't like it, my mom doesn't care, but I really don't care what they think. I'll eventually stop playing with them, but I'll never stop collecting them. Unless I get dead broke somehow, haha.

No....I'm 23 and my parents think it's childish to collect figures and I say this: "Hey, I could be doing worse things! I'm not an alcoholic, I've never done drugs and I don't commit crimes! Figures are one of my hobbies and it keeps me out of trouble! If collecting figures is the worst thing I do with my life then I think we did ok!" Nah. I like what I like and I dont care what others think. If they think its gay or childish...oh well. They are entitled to their opinion. I think video games are childish. I know thats not a popular sentiment. But oh well. To each their own. Some have their video games, some have their wrestling figs. I also find taking your piece of crap car worth about 2K and putting 30K in upgrades, including 10K worth of rims is gay. But oh well.....to each their own. That pretty much sums up the way I feel about collecting.

Up until last year, I had a best friend that I ran a figure fed with called SWF, and he had one that was called IFC. We did interpromotinal matches, shows, you name it. We did that for almost ten long years. Maybe ever longer, I can't recollect. I'm 25 now, and my father used to crucify me for playing. But I didn't care. It was a fun thing to do and it kept me out of doing even more stupid things in this town. As it turns out my love of figures ended up carrying over into my personal relationship with my fiancee. She does custom attires and collects Shawn Michaels figures.
But no matter what, I was never embarassed about playing or collecting. It was my hobby, my passion and I loved to do it. Those were some of the happiest days of my life and I will never forget them. Me and the dude that was my best friend had a falling out last year over a personal deal, but nonetheless we had a hell of a time. Times change, but my memories of playing will last forever.

No, not really.
I spend more time wondering why I keep spending money on collecting than I do worrying about what others think about it.
