UFC 89: “Leben vs. Bisping” at The NIA in Birmingham, England, on October 18 will be televised for free on Spike TV, according to Dave Meltzer at WrestlingObserver.com.
The event so far features two great match ups, including a middleweight slugfest between Michael Bisping and Chris Leben, as well as a tentative welterweight war that pits Thiago Alves against Diego Sanchez.
Meltzer indicates that the UFC will likely stage a major pay-per-view (PPV) event one week later on Saturday, October 25. It has not been announced at this time nor is a location or venue known, but we will assume that it will be dubbed UFC 90.
IF this is true, I wouldnt be suprised. I honestly dont see Bisping vs Leben being PPV worthy tbh. I see Bisping winning first round.

As much as I love MMA and the UFC. I think they are putting on to many cards. I get confused with which fights go on which card. It is just to much.

No way Bisping will pull a main event caliber rating for a PPV. This needs to be on Spike

This is in the UK though, and UFC in the UK usually sells out simply because UFC doesn't tour there a whole lot.
That said, they've aired UK PPV's in the States for free before and it looks like they'll do it again. Free MMA on TV is always a good thing, and I'll admit that the card isn't exactly PPV-caliber.

It has also been strongly rimoured that the show will also have Diego Sanchez vs. Thiago Alves. That and Bisping vs. Leben are two really strong matches.
There was also rumours of Anderson Silva defending against Okami, but that obviously may change depending on what happens in 2 weeks. If it is going to be free I can't see tham giving away an Anderson Silva title defence

What the hell has Yushin Okami done to deserve a title fight against Silva ? I mean besides losing to Rich Franklin, beating a washed up Evan Tanner, and taking Jason MacDonald to a decesion ? I know Okami holds a win over Silva and Okami has a decent record, but come on. There are more deserving fighters right now than Okami in my opinion.

I think an Okami fight will work at least in the short term because Anderson's only loss in over two years was against Okami and was because of a semi-controversial DQ.
If only because of a bit of unfinished business, I personally wouldn't mind seeing Okami/Silva.

EDIT: BUT I do agree, I wouldnt mind seeing Okami vs silva 2.

Quote from Dana White regarding Silva's next moves, mentions that plan is Okami first then winner of Cote/ Almeida “When I talk about real fighter, this is the kind of guy I'm talking about. This guy sat down in a meeting with us, literally, two months ago and said you're not fighting me enough, I want to fight more,” explained White. “And he wants to keep proving himself. He's one of these guys that said my window is this big and I want to get everything in before this window closes. “He wants to fight (July) 19. He wants to fight again Sept. 6 (at UFC 88), back down to 185 (pounds); he wants to defend his title, then again two months later. Anderson Silva might fight three or four more times this year. He might fight three or four more times this year and it's almost August!” The only catch thus far is Silva has to get by James Irvin at the UFC Fight Night on July 19. He doesn’t have to win, at least to defend his middleweight belt, but he does have to come out unscathed. “He just has to be healthy,” said White about being ready for a Sept. 6 defense. “I assume if he didn't win, he's probably not going to come out healthy unless it's a quick submission or something.” And he added an emphatic “yeah” when asked if Silva’s defense in Atlanta would be against No. 6 ranked Yushin Okami. The idea then is to return to the Octagon a couple of months later, assuming he defeats Okami, and then face the UFC 86 winner between Ricardo Almeida and Patrick Cote said White. “Yeah. Then he'll bounce back up to 205. He wants to fight 205 again, then go back to 185. He wants to keep sticking his foot in the 205 division to feel it out. Because what he's testing is, I think he wants both belts,” said White. “He wants to hold both the 185 and the 205 pound belt and he wants to defend them both. Normally I won't let guys do stuff like that because it's just… stupid. I'll let Anderson Silva do it.” www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=6631&zoneid=13
