I watched the Nascar race till the fireworks started around 9:20p. I went out on my front porch to watch it. Had a perfect view.

I had a damn good time. I went over to my mom's house, and hung out with a bunch of my friends. There was 5 of us, Me, my friends Nikki, Brittany, Liz, and Danny. We went to go see Nikki's brother's band play, and they were pretty good. Danny's mom made him leave after the concert, which sucked. After that, we blew off a bunch of fire works, went to go see the fire works display downtown, and came home. Me, Nikki, Brittany, and Liz sat around a bonfire in the back yard for like 3 hours. It was the best and most hilarious little story time session I can remember. Skip ahead an hour or two and the girls decided they were sleeping over. We played Rock Band and watched Strange Wilderness. At 4 A.M., Brittany fell asleep. Soon after, Liz was out cold. Me and Nikki were sitting there going, "well if their sleeping what the is the point." So we finally passed out around 6. It was a damn good time.

It was ok.
My wife and I went to my uncles which is a yearly tradition, but it was kinda boring. He usually does it because he has 4 acres, so there is room for games and fireworks. It used to be just a family get-together, but for the past several years; its been a schmooze party with their friends and co-workers; with less attention on the family. Each year less and less of the family goes; because of his schmoozing. We went just to have something to do. Luckily one of my other Aunts went; that way we had someone to talk too. We stayed and talked with my Aunt, and ended up having an ok time.
We were also invited to one of my wifes co-worker's house for the evening, so we went so we weren't stuck at home. We were kind of afraid of going; because we really didn't know anyone but her co-worker. I finally said "What the hell", and we went, and had a great time. Eventhough we didn't know any buddy, but her; we got to know everyone. They had great food, and had a great fireworks display. After the night was over; we were glad that we decided to go.
It ended up being a great day after all.

I always laugh when people consider the 4th of July a day to relax, because for me, it's never been anything close to that.
Winslow, Maine is known for its absolutely HUGE 4th of July celebration. We have the biggest in the state, which is funny, because we are an incredibly small town. We have under 2,000 residents and yet, we pile over 60,000 people on our streets and in our park for our parade and day long festival.
My dad has been the head of the entire celebration for 16 years now, so the 4th of July, and the weeks leading up to it, are easily the busiest and most stressful time of the year for me, and I've never known it to be any different.

Any time you get to operate professional pyrotechnics is awesome.
