I've been thinking about this for a while now. UFC has such a stacked Light Heavyweight division. I always thought it would be cool to see UFC have a PRIDE like Grand Prix involving all their top LHW talent.
Bracket A Fights:
Chuck Liddell vs. Thiago Silva Shogun vs. Sokoudjou
Lyoto Machida vs. Rich Franklin Forrest Griffin vs. Houston Alexander
Bracket B Fights:
Anderson Silva vs. Brandon Vera Wanderlei Silva vs. James Irvin
Dan Henderson vs. Keith Jardine Rampage Jackson vs. Rashad Evans
If you guys want, we could set up polls and vote to see who would win each fight like an actual tournament. What do you think? If not, who do you think would win the GP?

That would be insane, sad part is that Dana has said no to tournaments. It is insane just how stacked the whole division is really, right now they are several guys that could easilly be champion. Rumours are that if Chuck & Vanderlei win their upcoming fights that on NYE Chuck gets Forrest & Rampage/ Vanderlei 3, presumably to establish next No.1 contender. If that is the case the rest of the guys need to be matched up to determine the contender after that.

I would really want for Dan Henderson to win just because I liked him in Pride.

Bracket A Fights:
Chuck Liddell vs. Thiago Silva- CHUCK TAKES IT. Shogun vs. Sokoudjou - SUCH A GOOD MATCHUP. BUT SHOGUN IS JUST TOO FAST FOR SOKOUDJOU.
Lyoto Machida vs. Rich Franklin- BOTH VERY INTELLIGENT FIGHTERS. I THINK FRANKLIN WOULD COME UP WITH A GAMEPLAN TO GET MACHIDA DO SOMETHING COMPLETELY FOREIGN TO HIM..AND THAT IS ACTUALLY ENGAGE IN PHYSICAL CONTACT IN A FIGHT. Forrest Griffin vs. Houston Alexander- I HONESTLY THINK HOUSTON TAKES IT. FORREST ALWAYS LOOKS HORRIBLE IN THE FIRST ROUND OF HIS FIGHTS. ALEXANDER IS AN ANIMAL WHEN THE REF YELLS "FIGHT". HE THROWS EVERYTHING HE'S GOT AND WITH FORREST HE WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT KNOCKOUT POWER.
Bracket B Fights:
Anderson Silva vs. Brandon Vera - PSSST. ANDERSON SILVA ALL THE WAY. Wanderlei Silva vs. James Irvin - WANDY
Dan Henderson vs. Keith Jardine - HENDERSON. Rampage Jackson vs. Rashad Evans -GOOD FIGHT. IT WOULD BE A POWER MATCH FOR SURE. VERY FAST PACED AND I'M GUESSING QUITE A FEW SLAMS. BUT RAMPAGE TAKES IT.
In the end of it all I honestly think it would come down to Wandy or Anderson.

In the end, I would bet all my money that a healthy/in-shape Shogun would walk away the victor.

Brandon Vera moved down to 205, starting with his fight against Reese Andy next week.

I don't see him taking 18 months off after that embarassing loss and coming back in that shape, ever again. When Shogun returns, he'll be as dominant as ever.

I loved him in Pride but we are dealing with a different fighter. No stomps or knees to a downed fighter, the difference of a cage to a ring, the knee injury & of course the whole "juicing" rumours. I don't believe shogun will ever be the same fighter in the Octagon as he was in the Pride ring, just like Crocop.
