I was just thinking how CM Punk broke the barrier between the indys and sports entertainment. No longer can a WWE fan of an ignorant nature say "He got popular on the indys but he'd never translate to WWE." If Punk's success continues, WWE might feel more comfortable handing the ball to ROH talent.
FYI... by "indy star", I mean guys who made their name initially on one of the major American indies (Jamie Noble wouldn't count because he was in WCW.) Using that criteria I believe it narrows down to the above list, plus Bryan Danielson because of the possible rumors of him signing. The "Other" category can include indy stars that are signed by TNA.
So who do you think will be the next indy star that wins the WWE or World title?

I doubt it will happen again any time soon, But I hope Matt Sy... I mean Even Bourne will thought. BTW why is Colt on the list? He isn't on the main shows yet.

Kendrick, adding a manager/bodyguard is kind of a step up IMO. I have faith in a heel Kendrick, if that's the case.

It would have to be Danielson or Cabana....Everyone else on the list is just to physically small and wont be seen/given more then a IC/US title push. Smaller guys dont make World Champions in big companys...Its sadly the truth.....You cant really use Rey Mysterio as a example either cause we all know with out Eddie dying Rey would have never seen that title

Danielson will NEVER go to WWE....he's already stated that, he works dark matches usually to go visit Michaels backstage but will never sign with them. He's already stated this several times in Shoot Interviews and in Promo's, he's true to ROH and would never sell out like that...especially at ROH's current state where they have already lost 10+ big names.
I'd like to see Evan Bourne win the title, that'd be intense....

Like he hasn't achieved enough to move on in a amicable manner.

BTW why is Colt on the list? He isn't on the main shows yet. Because WWE is more likely to push Colt than other indy stars because of his size.

Money talks, thats all I am saying, and due to the fact he can't accomplish anything else unless he goes to a higher stage may lead him to the 'E'

As much as i would like to see Kendrick or Sydal win the main title, Unfortunatly none of those on the list will reach that status, WWE always it up for themself and will release them in the future.

Cabana is the most marketable, largely due to his size, but I would say none of the above right now, none of those guys up there really have any charisma.

Danielson has to be getting a bit tired. Eventually he'll want to challenge his ability to 'entertain' and earn a fat salary at the same time. He's doing his body no favors constantly trying to satisfy the indy smarks.

I think it was a unique event, but I could be (and would love to be) proven wrong. I think Cabana has the best chances, but I would love to see Kendrick get a big push.

Cabana is the most likely out of those, the others won't be able to get that far. If Joe ever comes to wwe then he would have a shot.
