I feel really good mentally at this point, a month before I fight Kenny Florian at UFC 87. I feel relaxed and very knowledgeable as well, and I think that comes from being blessed with the guys I’ve been training with. I flew to Denver, Colorado last week to train with Trevor Wittman. I’m here training with one of the best boxing coaches there is. I came here a week before Nate (Marquardt) fought in London to help him before his fight, and at the same time I got to know Trevor, who did some mitt work with me and helped me out. I fell in love with his training methods and his work as a striking coach and I knew that I had found my boxing coach. So I’m out here now and learning from him. I’ll be here until the 13th of July, and then we’ll all head down to New Mexico to work with Greg Jackson and Georges St-Pierre, and Nate will be coming down as well. Before going to Denver, I trained with (Muay Thai coach) Phil Nurse for a week and a half in New York and I learned a lot of stuff from him. Right after that I went to Montreal and trained with Georges for about a week and trained with Dennis Kang for a day. I’ve also been training with Jonathan Chaimberg, who is Georges’ strength and conditioning coach, and when I was in LA recently, I trained with Justin Hagen, who was my strength and conditioning coach for the last year. To some people, that’s a crazy schedule, and a lot of them ask me if I’m comfortable with moving around from place to place to train. Well, it kinda reminds me of when I was younger and I was moving around from place to place, not knowing where I was gonna live or stay, and it’s weird, but this is actually comforting. I have no other worries. I just have two suitcases - one with training gear, one with my street clothes – and that’s it. I get to crash on couches or some of the guys will have a spare bedroom, and I live like this because I’m taking this very seriously. I’m not joking around, and I want to be the best ever. When it’s all said and done, that’s what I want to be known as. I don’t do this for the glitz and glamour or the hype that some other fighters do it for. To me, I honestly believe that I was put on this Earth for a bigger reason, and I’m trying to figure that out. But before all that happens, I’ve got to beat Kenny Florian on August 9th. A win over Kenny puts me in the number one contender’s spot. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It solidifies and distinguishes that I am the number one contender and that I deserve a title shot. BJ Penn, you’ve got one fight left before you go anywhere else. - Iron Heart[/center]

I like Huerta a lot. I actually think he will win against Florian. Florian isn't good against guys who are overwhelmingly strong. That is exactly what Huerta is, he doesn't look like it but the dude is strong. But Huerta vs. Penn will result in a fantastic match that will hand Huerta his first loss in the UFC.

Got to say I'm picking Florian in this one. Rd 3 submission.

I really think Huerta can ground and pound Florian to a nice TKO finish. Florians jiu jitsu will be a problem for Huerta as he has never faced anyone who is that advanced when it comes to submissions but I think Huerta will have a good gameplan and will stay away from Florians elbows and his jiu jitsu. He needs to just keep the fight standing.

Huerta better watch what he says or he'll be shown up but BJ just like he did Sherk, and Stevenson.

But the way hes talking gives me the im pression that he's not worried about B.J. Which is a VERY big mistake. If this fight happens, I see Penn winning via submision 3rd round.

Thing is though, regardless of who wins I can't see either troubling BJ

I really think BJ could make the move to 185. He is a small guy but is talented enough to make it in that division. Didn't he fight Machida before at like 205?
I would much rather see a Anderson Silva vs. BJ fight rather than a GSP vs. BJ II.

I would much rather see a Anderson Silva vs. BJ fight rather than a GSP vs. BJ II. BJ was fat as hell for that fight with Machida, but he still weighed like 185, if I remember correctly. LoL. Machida walked in at like 205.

I think BJ could make Welter but any further weight divisions are insane. Anderson would destroy him cause BJ at that weight as mentioned above was chubby, he'd be slow 7 have the stamina problems that previously clouded his career. i'd rather see him at the Lightweight dominating there & reminding everyone just how great he is. Moving up in weight is not needed even to fight GSP & I'm not sure where all the current champions are getting this moving up obssession from

I think they read what everyone says on message boards about how they are a step or 2 above everyone in their weight class...
..which may be true with every champion...'cept maybe Forrest
