I want to see the consensus about Ric Flair's run in the WWF from 91-93, when he was the "Real" World's Champion. Many say that it wasn't very successful. I liked him in the WWF, but the thing was that he wasn't full Nature Boy. WWF was garnered towards kids so he couldn't talk about the parties and the women, although the storyline with Elizabeth was pretty racy for that time, especially the part about the centerfold at Mania 8. Also, they should have had a Hogan/Flair match. WWE kinda dropped the ball on that. Nevertheless, the 92 Rumble match was great and Flair had a good feud with Roddy Piper. Plus, I loved seeing Naitch with Heenan and Perfect.

He had a good run as champion, a great Rumble victory, great feud with Savage involving Miss Elizabeth, passed the torch so-to-speak to Bret, had a really good Loser Leaves Town match with Mr Perfect in '93, and left.
I wouldn't say that his time with the company was as incredible as it could have been, but it left us with some memorable moments and a true World Heavyweight Champion made it to the top of the wrestling promotion in the states, so it seemed like a successful run to me. Hogan/Flair might have been missed, but from what I've heard, the two of them together weren't drawing so well on the house show circuit, so maybe it just wasn't meant to be (in the WWF at least).
Also, I don't think I would want to see Flair job to Hogan at WrestleMania either, so maybe it's for the better that they didn't cross paths for a big ppv match.

Although I don't think his first run in the E or the F at that time...was too memorable but ether it was pretty damn good and I will always have a boat load of respect for that Man

I remember watching a TV show & Hennan at the end with the infamous Horse Manure/ Ice Cream speach and I marked out like crazy when he said Ric Flair!
Was the WWF run fantastic? No. It was a good run though, winning the Rumble & the strap ws fantastic, plus the fact that he had set it up by interfering in the Taker/Hogan match. However come Wrestlemania it should have been Hogan/ Flair! Savage & Flair had a fun run but wasn't the big feud that fans wanted, plus I found the whole arguing over Liz detracted from the real feud of WWF vs. WCW. The feud with Savage was short and rushed, compared with what they had done in the past.

It was good I think but like everyone else feels, I feel they really blew on a Flair/Hogan match at Mania. I dont care if they didnt draw at house shows or not, its WrestleMania, it would have drawn if they built it like they did every other meaningless Hogan Feud (Sid). Though I also hear that Savage was complaining that he hadn't had a run for awhile thats another reason he got the shot and not Hogan. But who knows whats true and what isn't. Point being, Flair/Hogan should have happened.

I think the ONLY thing that hurt Flairs first run in WWF was he never got the chance to go against Hogan 1-1.....There were a few tag matches and a few house show matches but never anything big....but for the time he spent I think he pretty much did all that you can do

it was amazing, if only for the fact that he cost hogan a title.
