Dana wouldn't kick him out right now... even if he had legal ground to terminate his contract (which I'm not sure about), Dana wouldn't want to give Affliction or EliteXC the satisfaction of signing Rampage at a discount price without even having to outbid the UFC.
Dana would rather endure the PR nightmare and keep Rampage to himself than serve the competition one of his marquee fighters on a silver platter.

Okay TMZ is saying that the cops determined Jackson was "medically Unfit" to be booked in jail and they took him to the O.C hospital. But they wont say if he was high on something.

It could also be that he's still banged up from the Forrest Griffin fight. Not sure what they consider "medically unfit."
I read elsewhere that the Costa Mesa police said there were no signs that drugs or alcohol were involved.
Who knows.

Wow. What a ing idiot. He's pretty much screwed now. I mean, it was only about a month or so ago, that Dana White was saying Jesse Taylor from The Ultimate Fighter was acting like a ing lunatic and yet look at what Rampage goes and does. It puts whatever Jesse did to shame. What Jesse did on the show was NOTHING compared to what Rampage did...Hit and run and evading police in a high-speed chase...Come on here...If Jesse got the boot for what he did, then Rampage is most certainly gone as well. Rampage's career in the UFC is just about up in my opinion and after hearing about this, rightfully so. This totally makes the UFC look bad and I'm sure Dana White is plenty pissed.

This is sad to see because Jackson is one of my favorite MM fighters and seemed like a cool dude. I am not sure what he was thinking but something has to up with him. Maybe he was high or something. Just wait for the outcome of the UFC punishment.

Driving away from the cops, in a truck with your picture on the side, not a good idea. Kind of a dead give away. He should of being driving with Jesse Taylor, who I could picture yelling from the passenager side window "YOU CAN'T ARREST US! WE'RE UFC FIGHTERS! WE'RE ABOVE THE LAW....WE ARE THE LAW!!!!"

Here's an update from Rajah.com:
We reported here yesterday that UFC star Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was arrested at gunpoint yesterday in California after crashing into 2 cars, fleeing the scene and leading police on a 5-minute car chase. He was charged with felony hit and run and felony evading arrest and was taken to a hospital last night for evaluation. New details have surfaced regarding the incident.
TMZ.com reports that Rampage was on the 55 Freeway in Orange County, California when he hit 2 cars. Instead of stopping, he got off the freeway and the police chase was on. Rampage then began driving on the center divider. According to the police report, Jackson then drove on the sidewalk, "causing pedestrians to flee for their lives." He started driving the wrong way on a crowded street, colliding with yet another car in an intersection. It's not over yet.
As he continued on, running several red lights, his tire blew out and he began driving on the rim. He eventually got to Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, where he again driving on the sidewalk, "causing pedestrians to flee in terror."
His car eventually came to a stop and he was taken into custody at gunpoint. Cops took him to the Orange County Jail, but they determined he was "medically unfit" to be booked. No word on whether drugs were involved. Rampage is currently under evaluation at an Orange County hospital.
In an interview conducted with Throwdown TV just 24 hours before the incident (video link), Rampage seemed a little off, but revealed that he had been battling depression, injuries as well as sleep and weight issues in recent weeks.
Now, I don't care what the deal with Dana is. If Dana holds him so the other MMA spots don't get him then fine, but if most of this is true, why would the other groups want him? Sure, sign a guy this unstable to the roster and see what happens the next time he loses it. I'm sorry, but I can't see what could justify any of the above except for depression, and then it's still his fault for not getting himself help. I say let him go.

It's like in wrestling, no matter how many times you've been suspended, arrested, abuse drugs, if you can still draw, anyone will hire you.

It's like in wrestling, no matter how many times you've been suspended, arrested, abuse drugs, if you can still draw, anyone will hire you. Yeah, but you do what Rampage did and I'm sure people will think twice about hiring him. He won't be able to draw anything now. He deserves to be fired. Immediately.
