I know there is nothing concrete about ROH remotely being considered for a TV on a known U.S. station that will distribute them nationally- but there is a hell of a lot of talk of that being a goal.
My post is not intended to ask "who is most likely to show interest", but rather, "What network would you put them on"?
I'm gonna be quick and deliberate and say A&E would be a great channel for any somewhat serious wrestling promotion to broadcast on. The content on that network is vast, and yet there is quite a few programs to tune into so you can always stay in your comfort zone or bring others in who already have the channel on in their home.
I would probably say the second best pick is FX. Although there is quite a few networks that would welcome a serious wrestling promotion (VS. Network for one), I think FX still has a bit of a gritty aura to it and could welcome a raw, non-flashy, full throttle, battle of attrition that could also help put them in competition with USA Network and Spike.

you know it bugs me when you see how much money there is too be made in wrestling, and the fact that of all the millions of people round the world that follow it,theres no multi millionares out there willing to put some big money into a company like ROH and help secure a tv deal.
wrestling is worldwide now,and theres plenty room for more promotions on a national and world wide scale.
i didnt have cable when i stayed across the pond so i cant comment on which channel they should be on,but it should be one that is suitable and really gets behind the product and not try to copy the WWE like TNA has done

I would really have to go with the Versus network.

ROH would die horribly on TV.

I don't even think I'd want them to get a TV deal.

I can't imagine them getting a good station. Perhaps they would try local television stations again like ECW did. In reality people don't watch wrestlers they have never heard of on tv.

ESPN, HBO, or Fox would be the best options with the most likely option being Versus.

i'm kinda torn on weither or not i'd even want them to get a tv deal...
if they got a tv deal i would get to see more ROH wrestling for free..which would be a huge plus...
but..i could then see the ratings being low and then the network would want them to change up their style or something dumb...
so i guess if they were to get on tv i would want them to get with a network that knows they are signing a pro WRESTLING company...and not a wrestling entertainment company

ROH would have to revolutionize how wrestling on TV could work. Right now, I think ROH would fail being on TV. Not fail completely, but it would not be anything near the ROH of now or the past. I think doing their PPV's is a decent idea for now. Maybe getting more advertising out on TV, and doing a monthly PPV for a while until those start selling decent. That way the population outside of ROH fans can understand the product for when it would go on TV. Although most ROH matches are as good as they are because they do not have a really small time limit, which they probably would end up having if they had TV like TNA matches have. That definitely effects the matches too.

I've always felt that ROH could get away with doing a weekly "wrap up" show like Dragon Gate's Infinity. It probably wouldn't work in the continuity of things that well (look at what the PPVs have done). But it would have a shot.

I don't feel like quoting this early in the morning so Blade, Franchise, ARR, and Total Crisis please read the context of the post.
I said this is not a matter of who would pick up ROH, but rather, which network you feel would be the best choice.
Be it the the channel you most enjoy or the network that best fits the ROH image.
Do I think A&E or FX has any interest in picking up ring of honor, let alone any wrestling promotion? Hell no. But those two channels I think have a good core audience that could enjoy ROH's alternative the mainstream wrestling world.
That and both channels have programming that keeps the audience tuned in, thus also drawing in some interested viewers already watching the network.

I like Versus or FX idea. I could also see them being on G4. I know this is a goal for them because both the big wigs in ROH have discussed it on radio interviews. If the right deal comes up why wouldn't they. I'd rather it be something on late at night though like ECW used to be. If it gets good ratings for its timeslot there's no need to push it into unrealistic timeslots that will sink the show.
