Okay...I just got back... WHat an evening. My friends and I bought our tickets 2 weeks ago for the IMAX showing at 10:20 tonight. I had friends who were in the 7:30 IMAX show. While eating dinner, I got a text from my friend that the IMAX projector broke during the filming. I figured he is ing with me. Nope, we get there, and the projector is broken, but they are trying to fix it for out showing. SO after 10:30, they decide they aren't going to be able to do it. To their credit, they do give everyone 2 free IMAX passes for later, and let us watch it in another theatre. Although there was a lot of confusion, and it was a cluster , we finally get a theatre, and start watching around 11:50. Sooooo....I don't get to see it in IMAX, and I spend several hours waiting in line....brilliant. Anyway, some short thoughts on the movie from me. I'm tired, so maybe that will affect my opinions. -Ledger was awesome, as we all saw, but it wasn't the greatest performance I have ever seen. -It wasn't the best movie ever. -It is probably the best comic movie I have seen, and definitely the best Batman movie. -Bale's Batman voice was worse in this movie, to the point that people were laughing at it. -I thought having Scarecrow in it was actually pointless. -The motorcycle stunt off the wall was stupid. -I'm glad Rachel is dead, I hated the character. -Sad to see Two Face die, but he was awesome for the short time we got him. -Gordon and Alfred are again, amazing. -Watchmen looks amazing. -Some of the action sequences were a little hard to follow with some shaky camerawork, but overall not too bad. -It was a great film, but by no means perfect.

I don't think there will be a 3rd movie. As there are indeed reasons for there being one, there are also reasons for it not happening. I wouldn't mind seeing one, but I wouldn't mind not seeing one as well. As for recasting a Joker, if it has to be done, they need to make sure the guy is as good or better than Ledger. Which will be damn hard to find. The amount of money this going to make, Id' bet my life that there will be a third, it might not be Nolan and the gang, but they will make it happen.

Obviously everyone is obsessed over his version of the joker and they would want to recast someone just like him. Most actors really don't want to reprise someone elses role and play it exactly like the other actor.

Ledger reset and raised the bar for psychopathic killers wearing clown facepaint and a serious disposition, that's for sure. -BEN

I agree with all of these points, that Scarecrow cameo was pointless and kind of makes him seem really weak now in the the first film. I didn't see any previews because my viewing was a press screening... , but seeing it on IMAX was badass, it's a shame you got screwed there.

Technically not even a minute onscreen and he was already owning people. Some dude screamed "HOLYSHIT" next to me and my fiancee. Everyone did like a laugh/freakout. -BEN

But there is just so much wrong with The Joker not being in a next movie, that it beats the purpose of even making one. Yeah, they could say Joker is locked up, but just like he did in this movie, he could escape. So it would throw a lot of people off. I know it would throw me off.

I laughed so hard at the beginning of the movie when Bruce said to Dent "Really? Your into ballet."

Just got back from the 1 am showing with my girlfriend, and wow what a movie. We both really really enjoyed it. Ledger (obviously) did an amazing job, and I really liked Bale as Batman. The two face character was amazing as well. Overall, a really good movie, coming from someone who was never a Batman fan.

Just a note... the Watchmen trailer got louder applause at my theater than the Dark Knight itself... Just thought I'd throw that out there. Anyway, its not the best movie ever, but a very good movie. I agree with TRW on a lot... Scarecrow was kinda pointless... why put him in the film for 5 seconds? The batman voice has to go... someone get that mother er a throat lozenge.

why so dead?
real classy.
Anyways I loved it. I had somewhat low expectations considering I didn't care much for Batman Begins (I thought it looked amazing but it just didn't do anything for me). But Heath completely stole the show, he looked amazing and you couldn't help but have your undivided attention on him when he was on screen. Amazing film. Possibly the best Superhero movie ever.

I don't even remember anything Scarecrow said, so pointless.

He got defeated by a Tazer by Dawes in Begins. That right there says how weak the character is...
It's funny, Ledger will be remembered as a homo and a psychopathic clown...But damn is a he good actor. "Only the good die young"
His death didn't really hit me till after the movie, it was a powerful experience for that alone.

I just got back. Now, i really liked this bit and it was only a small bit. when Joker had all 3 DNA signatures on the joker card. A few scenes earlier in the courtroom the judge was flicking through the papers on the mobs crimes and picked up the joker card. I thought that was really well done, even though i don't think many people picked that up (i know my dad didn't).
Anyway i loved it, as said above it was a great movie but nowhere near perfect, but it was my favourite comic book movie to date. With Ironman coming in at a close second.

Nowhere near perfect or not, It lived up to the hype, and this movie was hyped to the ing sky. Not many movies I can say that lived up THAT good. Another buddy of mine on another forum stated it wasn't a movie, it was an experience. Not many movies out nowadays can say that "it was an experience". Scarecrows part was real minor, but I like the character. I think it was just a way to get things moving.

Scarecrow was just to tie off some loose ends from Begins.

I think the purpose of Scarecrow was to have something happen to him, instead of him just disappearing.

Scarecrow was just to tie off some loose ends from Begins. Makes sense to me. First Jets fan that said something that ever made sense to me...
