One thing is for sure, I thought this was just the greatest movie ever, Ledger stole the show, Bale was awesome as always, and Eckhart, I didnt expect him to be this good...
Nolan is God, hands down. And if they DO make a movie, it will be The Riddler trying to turn the whole city of Gotham against Batman. I mean, it makes sense if you think about it. I just can't wait to see it again, and to have it in my house. DAMN this movie was great...
Nolan now has my top three movies of all time
1. Memento 2. Dark Knight 3. Batman Begins

See now I loved Batman Begins alot but it just wasnt in my top favorite list for some reason. Great actors and a great film but I just got bored with it if I watched it too much. Now The Dark Knight is totally opposite.. I could watch this thing all day.

People salivate over Memento and the Prestige and I never really cared for those films, I thought Insomnia which never gets mentioned here was way better than those other gimmick movies he did.
TDK is really superb though, it's probably the greatest of it's genre and I think that anything that succeeds this movie will pale in comparison.

July 18, 2008 - The Dark Knight has reportedly bested the previous record holder, Star Wars, Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith, for the best midnight opening record with an estimated $18.5 million.
Variety reports that Dark Knight, which opened on 4,366 screens, "the $18.5 million did not include 3:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M." Deadline Hollywood Daily claims, via sources, that Warners Bros. "bigwigs are hoping for between $160 million and $170 million" weekend gross for Dark Knight.
In other Bat-opening news, MovieTickets.com reports that more than 1,300 performances nationwide are still sold out. This includes more than 220 in New York City and Los Angeles alone. All this, combined with a move into the MovieTickets.com Top 5 Pre-Sale List of All-Time, and sky-high approval ratings from MovieTickets.com users, combines to pack a powerful punch.
"We expect the bat signal to be on for quite some time," said Joel Cohen, executive vice president and general manager, MovieTickets.com. "The fact that there are still more than 1,300 sold-out performances to come and we haven't even reached the weekend yet is really quite staggering."

Make him true to the comics...just absolutely obsessed with figuring out the mystery of who Batman is. It fits in perfectly with where the series is right now.

They should have that "Mr. Reese" guy become The Riddler. I mean, he can tease and play with Batman because he knows that it's Bruce Wayne, and The Riddler is all about teasing and playing with people's brains.

Just saw it for the first of probably three times (in theaters, that is.) Not to be cliche but uh.... the truth is.... THAT MOVIE WAS ING EPIC!!!! THE JOKER WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! And arent both Chris Nolan and Bale signed on for another one? At least one more; they can milk it for all its worth. Also, things need to be tied up. I think Batman needs to be seen as a hero, at least by some people. Also, I want to see Wayne Manor/The Batcave in its completed form. Other then Joker still being in the penthouse, there is something else I noticed wrong... how did Gordon fake his death? Didnt they feel for a pulse or anything? Was he just holding his breath real well? I can easily see Harvey coming back in the next one, with the story being just as Gordon did. Two-Face wasnt entirley bad, and i think in the next one, after escaping death twice, he can come back and be a total bad guy. Also, Gary Oldman said in an interview maybe they will replace the Joker, or maybe they wont because they'll have the Riddler. I took it he was joking, but now I think it might be true. Seeing Joker's ending, I guess they can either bring him back with some new guy in makeup or they can just say hes locked up in Arkham. Personally I think replacing Ledger would be disrespectfull to not only him, but the charecter excellentley portrayed in the movie. All I know, if things go the way I think they will, in the third movie of this series continuity, we will see the Riddler and Two-Face as the vilans. Only difference, Nolan will do it right.

Oh, not to forget. The Joker's "Magic Trick" with the pencil made my year. Period. That's one of my favorite scenes. Definitely my new favorite movie.

I meant going off of it, Nolan really made this a complete film, but if they were to go off of this one, I could see it happening that way. Not even the riddler, somebody else trying to REEEEALLY turn the city against Batman. I don't know, I just hope Nolan makes another Batman flick, he's so great.

I don't think there will be a 3rd movie. As there are indeed reasons for there being one, there are also reasons for it not happening. I wouldn't mind seeing one, but I wouldn't mind not seeing one as well.
As for recasting a Joker, if it has to be done, they need to make sure the guy is as good or better than Ledger. Which will be damn hard to find.

Me and my friends were joking around in the theater about how ugly Rachel looked in some scenes. Saying she was a "4 out of 10 in the dark", "Heath Ledger is hotter than her", etc. just to make people laugh.
I don't think she's that ugly but in some scenes she looked hideous.
