Soo.. Jack or Heaths Joker. Which was better in your minds? It really is two different Batman worlds and each Joker catered perfectly to their respective films' styles. I just prefer the Nolan Batman world better overall, so of course I liked Heath.

I was in the city for a few days, but I didn't take advantage and go see TDK in IMAX. Too much family to see.

Many people say that in the comics around the time this movie came out the Joker was portrayed as more of a goofball but that is clearly wrong as the Joker in the comics was as dark if not more dark then the TDK Joker and wasn't about jokes all the time like Jack's was. The movie had Joker dance to Prince for god's sake. Ledger > Jack. And this is coming from a Burton Batman series die-hard before the new series came out.

The Burton Batman world has a more tongue in cheek, cartoony feel to it. The Nolan Batman world is a lot more gritty and down to earth.
It's two different perspectives of Gotham. Both are good, I just like what Nolan's doing better.

People need to stop comparing Nicholson and Ledger. They are two totally different characters for two totally different era's.
The effectiveness of the Joker character has to do with the rest of the movie and how everything else is. If you flipped Jokers it wouldn't make sense. Nicholson's Joker wouldn't work in Dark Knight just like Ledgers Joker wouldn't work in the 1989 Batman.
I believe both Nicholson and Ledger's Jokers are both perfect for the films and the time periods in which the movies were made.
You can only compare things which would be able to both compete for the same exact role at the same time to see which one would fair better....like Adam West was perfect when he was Batman, but he would be ridiculous if he was in the Dark Knight.
End of story....at least for me. I find it absurd to compare Nicholson and Ledger.....19 years apart....the world was a different place in 1989 and they made the movie then reflecting that.

My only problem with Batman '89 Joker is that in that era, the Joker was a total ing badass. In 1988-1989 the Joker had killed Robin with his bare hands and left Barbara a cripple and took nude photo's of her wreathing in pain to try and destroy Jim Gordon. But outside of that, in the Burton universe, that Joker was totally awesome. Even if it wasn't really "The Joker."

Everytime I hear someone say Dent could be alive I wanna tackle them out of a window. Tackle them off a roof. Then, when they land, we'll see how Dent could survive.

I liked Christian Bale's performance, but not Oscar worthy.
Infact, I think it will get like 5 nominations at best.
Possibly...
Best Picture Best Director - Christopher Nolan Best Performance By an Actor in a Supporting Role - Heath Ledger as The Joker Best Cinematography Best Costume Design

ROFL, if this movie gets any Oscar nominations it'll be Heath Ledger, because he's dead.

Soo.. Jack or Heaths Joker. Which was better in your minds? As good as Jack Nicholson is, Heath Ledger made him look like a second class, B-Movie actor. There is no comparison. Just ordered myself a Dark Knight shirt, I can't get enough.
