Can't compare apples to oranges... Wait no....that's not it, can't compare Jack to Heath. I like Nolans Batman better, just because it was so much more real. Any other Batman series is comic-ish. Like they have armour you can't pierce, or some odd reason why they don't get hurt. This one, within the opening 30 miniutes he was ed up by some dogs...now that's some real shit!

I still find it hard to believe if this movie wins any oscars. Im not saying its not worthy of any I just couldnt image it winning any. I sure hope it does tho. I feel the same. I don't see it winning anything, maybe not even nominated. If anything, it will be one of those categories that people don't really care about. Something tells me the academy won't appreciate it quite as much as the general public. Which is sad, because I'm sure whatever they nominate for best picture won't be as good.

I like Nolan's universe more not just for the realism, which was a nice touch, but because the characters mirrored there comic-counter parts. In "Begins" and especially TDK I was elated to see Jim Gordon acting like he did in the comics and looking the part to boot. Not to mention Playboy-facade Bruce. Hell even Joker kept changing his origin just like in Killing Joke.
Honestly, Nolan really did a great job with keeping the comic's sprit alive and adding a certain realistic tinge to the backdrop of the story.

I've seen it 4 times now. I love going to see crowd's reactions to everything. It's weird how somethings get a huge reaction some times and no reaction at all another. I had like 10 people cheer after Dent said you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain which was weird!

I've seen it 3 times, and at the beginning when the Joker puts the thing in the guys mouth in the bank....at least 3 people always go 'Oh my God no!".....I guess they think it's a grenade and his heads going to explode or something.

Just got back from seeing it. I was worried I would think the movie was too long but it was paced great. Pretty good I must say.

It will get Oscar noms for Cinematography (like Begins did) and possibly Visual Effects, maybe some Sound noms, Editing perhaps, and should definitley get a nomination for Supporting Actor.

They need a Sound nom. The bass in the critical moments was amazing.

Soo.. Jack or Heaths Joker. Which was better in your minds? As good as Jack Nicholson is, Heath Ledger made him look like a second class, B-Movie actor. There is no comparison. I wouldn't go that far.

Oh, and I think I uncovered a new Mr. Reese/Mysteries mystery! I THINK MR. REESE IS A SMART SETUP TO MR. fREEZE! GET IT?/jk, but its just as logical as Mysteries/Him being Riddler, but I dont see Nolan using Freeze. And Reese is just some random guy. ... and no this is not one of my fake, spam youtubes...

I would. All Jack did was dance around and giggle like a little girl. I would also agree....Jack's performance is good but I think it is WAY overrated and this is coming from a big Nicholson fan....Ledger's performance should and probably will be considered one of the best of all time

Like I said before....you can't compare Ledger and Nicholson.
Heath Ledgers Joker wouldn't have worked in the 1989 movie and Jack Nicholson's Joker wouldn't have worked in the Dark Knight.
They are two different actors who acted the role based on how the movie was written and the time frame it was written in.
It's not like one of them could even possibly do a better job than the other because each of them were given a totally different era and movie making style to work with.
You can prefer on Joker interpretation to another.....but to say one is "better" makes no sense, because basically the only similarities to the 1989 Joker and the 2008 Joker is the name of the character. That's it.
