He told us that Kevin’s fingers went directly into his eye during the fight so he quickly tried to turn away (due to reflex) to avoid serious eye damage. His injury from his eye was so painful that he even had to miss his after party in Las Vegas due to not being able to see clearly. Anthony told us he was very disappointed that his fight had to end that way but he will go back to his regular training at Cung Le’s USH gym once his eye returns to normal. He thanks all his fans for all their support!

Ouch, it was a pretty bad poke. Bad excuse though, I broke my hand so I can't clench my fist. What ever.

Its bull **** he lost. I honestly think he could petition the decision and actually win. It wouldve been more understandable if it was only one time, but Burns poked him in the eye like 4 or 5 ing times.....

It should have been Anthony winning by DQ. The guy got warned so many times. It is like kicking a dude in the nuts ref warning you. Kicking him in the nuts get warning again.......... Until you finally kick him in the nuts so hard you cannot fight. And the ref awarding the guy that kept kicking the guy in the nuts the fight. It is like warning him "you keep doing it and you will win." That desicion just really really confuses me.

One of the worst refereed fights I have EVER seen. Seriously.

The only possible explanation is that the ref was totally convinced the eye pokes were accidental ... but even if that were the case, it's hard to believe they'd set the precedent that a guy can win a fight with illegal blows as long as he makes them look like an accident.
Even if you give Kevin Burns 100% benefit of the doubt, for every guy that doesn't purposely take a cheap shot, there are 5-10 other guys who might consider it, if they were desperate for a win. I'm not sure if the NSAC (or any other commission) wants to go there.

I don't care what anyone says, Johnson should have won that fight via disqualification.
