Sorry, if this fits in the Dark Knight thread (don't know why it would) but a MOD could move it..
Anyway, I'm heading over to Borders later to check out a couple things, and I was going to take a look at some the Batman graphic novels. Mind you, I've never been a big comic book person, but I've read through numerous outlets that much of Nolan/Goyers inspirations come from the likes of Frank Miller and other Batman stories.
I was looking at the Killing Joke, Year One, DK Returns, etc. Any recommendations for good Batman graphic novels? Recommendations and reasons for those would be great. If possible, keep it spoiler-free, as I haven't read any of these really.
Thanks! -Stephen

The Long Halloween is fantastic. One of the best. I also recommend Hush. I never really see anyone talking about it, but I really enjoyed it. Knightfall as well. And it seems you already have some of the other great ones.

Okay, cool. So the ones I hear about constantly ARE, in fact, some of the best.
Also, is there any comic that has a similar portrayal of the Batmobile that Nolan does (not that I'd buy it, just curious as to where he might have gotten the inspiration).
Thanks again!

What everyone's already said, plus--
The Untold Story of The Batman Mad Love World's Finest Joker: The Devil's Advocate
Just some favorites of mine. World's Finest includes Superman, and a realistic take of the friendship/associative relationship with Batman. Mad Love re-tells the origin of Harley Quinn, and it's a great Joker/Batman story too. And Devil's Advocate is the Joker on death row with Batman being forced to prove his innocence.

I think the Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth story is pretty cool. Not the greatest over many others, but a good read none the less. The artwork is downright creepy, especially on The Joker.

I can't say this enough and will repeat it whenever someone asks for a good Batman trade.
The Batman/Dracula trilogy of books are epic goodness. It's one of the darkest, most gothic Batman stories. Each individual story has its strength and weaknesses, but combined they carve an incredibly interesting chapter into the Batman mytho's.
It's a mind trip for sure, but it also really gets you thinking of just what Batman is capable of.
Definitely pick it up. The TPB is called Tales of the Multiverse: Batman - Vampire.

Batman VS Alien
A fun one. All the Villain's DNA in Arkham is crossed with Aliens to make hybrid Alien version of themselves.
