Wow, the MMA board is easily better off without you and your attempt at "insults." Take your childish antics elsewhere. They aren't needed, nor wanted here.

When I meant "new to the board", I obviously meant new to this board.
For all it's quirks and debates and general tomfoolery, the MMA boards are a pretty cool place. Not a lot of spamming going on, some board regulars that can always be counted on to input their unique opinion, general feelings of awesomeness and excitement when a show comes around, etc. It's a really nice atmosphere IMO, and that's (sadly) not what you can say about some of the boards around here.
Of course some of that is coming from the bias of me being a mod of one of the MMA boards, but that's really how I feel about the three MMA boards. Very small community compared to most of the other boards, but we've got a loyal following and most of our topics are good-natured excitement since it's such a great time to be an MMA fan.
The last thing we need is a random troll that brings nothing to topics other than making fun of somebody for some random thing that barely even matters (and is a personal choice anyway), and someone mocking Fedor fans childishly.
So, just let it go. And don't respond to every post thinking that it's a personal attack.

Since you're new to the board, I won't go over how Iron Heart has been a dependable voice of reason, all-around quality poster, and a board regular for much, if not all, of the MMA Boards existences. I also won't go over how nitpicking about something that he does at the end of his posts is trivial, pointless, and goes a long way towards having no one take you seriously. Thanks man - Iron Heart

Thanks man - Iron Heart yea thanks MOD - Windex921 If you're here to start fights with people, please leave. If you're here to contribute to the topics at hand, please do so without picking fights with people based on completely irrelevant things like whether they sign their name to their posts. I go out of my way not to delete posts and crap like that, but I'm not down with people picking fights with each other on here. So... don't.

Forget his arrogance...hes just jealous cause he isnt part of the 'group' haha
but anyways Jardine vs Vera is a very interesting fight...
Jardine got murdered in his last fight..and Vera has looked like crap his past 3 fights
I like Jardine..and I really dont like Brandon Vera
I see this being a slugfest and staying a stand up bout for 3 rounds

Just let it go, Churchy. If he wants to do the same thing Iron Heart does, let 'em. Again, it's all about personal choice.
Now, c'mon guys, let's try to get back on topic. Jardine vs. Vera has a lot of potential, nyah.

Now, c'mon guys, let's try to get back on topic. Jardine vs. Vera has a lot of potential, nyah. it HAS potential...but if Vera fights this fight like he fought at the last Fight Night...hes going to get knocked out plain and simple. Its a must win for both fighters and I think Jardine has it in him more than Vera does. the 36 second knockout from Silva happens sometimes, but I bet if he could have held off that initial barrage, it would have turned into being a great slugfest (with silva still winning)....I just dont see Vera being able to last against Jardine.

I see Vera keeping distance with his kicks and Jardine getting frustrated enough to come inside, which is obviously advantage - Vera. I could really see Vera opening up Jardine in the clinch while dirty boxing with an elbow which will give him the fight more or less. Maybe even taking him down and submitting him.

I mean, dont get me wrong, I think Vera got skills..but performing the way he did against talent from the shallow end of the pool wont cut it against Jardine...he better bring his A+ game or Jardine is going to punch his lights out.

Jardine is interesting. It's almost like he fights to the level of his opponent, for better or worse.
When he fought Houston Alexander, he went into the fight angry that he had to fight someone he felt was beneath him... and he got KOed immediately. Then, he asked for a fight with Chuck Liddell, looked very well prepared during that fight (mentally, physically and in terms of his game plan) and gutted out a decision.
I wonder if his personal opinion of his opponent affects the way he trains for a fight, leading to him doing better when he faces harder tests? I dunno... just an observation.

It's a tall drink of water and not always in the best interest of a fighter to specifically train at the level he thinks his opponent is.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for "knowing your opponent" and switching up your gameplan to best highlight your strengths and best capitalize on your opponent's weaknesses.
But like Elden said, it looked like Jardine wanted that fight with Chuck badly, so he worked his ass off.
Jardine needs to take all of his opponents seriously, because anything can happen in MMA.
This is what I think will happen: both men will test each other out and play the first round carefully, because they've got a lot riding on this fight. Maybe by the end of round one they'll let loose, but I see both men trying to test the waters just a bit.
Sooner or later, though, things are going to heat up and this'll turn into a slugfest. Once the punches start flying, the outcome will be determined by who takes the first onslaught of fists.
Jardine may not have a glass jaw, but Houston was able to earn a KTFO on Jardine by pressing the action. If Vera slugs away with Jardine and manages to avoid any serious damage, I can see this one ending quickly with another decisive Jardine KO.
Then again, Jardine may choose to play it safe and this'll turn into a war of attrition.
Either way, I still say that the last thing these two need is a boring fight. I really think both men know that they've got to win this one, and win it big, to get back into title contention. Maybe not immediate title contention, but a big blitzkrieg smackdown win will go a long way in moving them up the rankings.
