Credit goes to MMA Mania “I’m going to appeal it and my agent, Ken Pavia, is going to appeal it and Dana thought it was bullcrapwhether it was unintentional or not. I don’t think the UFC wants fights to end that way. Right now, we just want to get this whole situation taken care of in the right way, but I would love a rematch! I was pretty disappointed in the TKO call. Burns was a test and they put a decent grappler against a decent striker and I think I held my own because he never came close to pulling off a submission on me. Everyone knows what type of person I am and this won’t set me back.”
– Anthony Johnson confirms with FightHype.com that he and his manager intend to appeal the technical knockout loss to Kevin Burns at UFC Fight Night 14 with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Video replays of the third round stoppage show that “Rumble” was felled by an unintentional eye poke and not an uppercut. The referee in charge of the action, however, did not have the benefit of watching instant replay and called a halt to the 170-pound bout. Two immediate thoughts spring to me when I hear of this news. 1. If the NSAC don't overturn this decision, it'll be just as shitty of a call as when the ref called it a TKO loss. 2. Would it be possible to bring instant replay to Mixed Martial Arts, if just for special circumstances like this?

Special situations should have uinstant Replay for the Ref and/or judges. Im all for Anthony appealing. It was absolute crapwhat they did to him. Im pretty sure the NSAC will not overturn this, especially with Dana white on Johnsons side.

But he will win this desiscion. No questions asked.

Aren't they all Team Punishment fighters? I know Razor Rob and obviously Tito are...and I think "Rumble"had the logo on his sponser list
but this needs to be overturned and ruled a no contest, they wont make it a DQ or anything

Good for him. I can't believe how bad the refereeing in that fight was.

Should be a DQ win for Johnson. If nothing else, for the love of god, rule it a no contest. It should definitely be a DQ win for Rumble because the other guy was warned more than once, but still, anything but a loss. He doesn't deserve it.

I think he'll win this decision. I think it'll end up being ruled a no contest.
