Here is a fix up I did of The Joker from Mattel's Dark Knight Movie Masters Series. I also included 10 customized Joker cards as well as 2 Gotham City Newspapers. Thoughts/Opinions (both positive and negative) would be appreciated. cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160266068267&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=006 After some of the feedback I realized I "over did it" with black around the eyes. I decided to fix-up just one more Joker. Thoughts/Comments/Feedback on this new version would be great. Updated Version #2: cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160266679967

You should fix up the paint around the eyes, I don't recall there being that much.

You should fix up the paint around the eyes, I don't recall there being that much. I was aiming towards the effect of the paint wearing down the face. I didn't base his appearance completely on the film -- I rather went my own route to give him that "worn" look.

Too dark around the eyes. Would not have changed the figure, personally.

I understand that there is too much black around the eyes -- This is the first fix-up I ever did. I'm definitely going to improve on this with my next one. Does the darkness detract away from the figure itself? How would you rate it from 1-10?

I honestly dont like it as much as i did before you modded it. The makeup is inaccurate and looks wied IMO. I dont remember ANY Joker looking like that. But the work is clean and is a great effort I will applaud you for that.

Does the darkness detract away from the figure itself? How would you rate it from 1-10? Well since you ask, it appears that all you did to the figure was add the darkness of the eyes, so therefore yes, it does detract away from the figure itself. The Movie Masters are great figures to begin with, messing around with them is dangerous. I am not saying I don't see why you wanted to add darker rings around his eyes. I saw the movie, I get it, you just went a little too far with it. The accessories you added look cool, but I care more about the figure itself. I normally do not like to judge on the number scale, but as you are asking... Original figure 9/10 with your fix-up 6.5/10. I don't mean this to be harsh in any way, just lighten up the eyes or add some flesh color like the paint is running and you may be able to make the figure a 10/10.

he reminds me more of a member of kiss now then he does the joker. as t-phunk said though the painting is clean and crisp.

This is great. It doesn't even looks like a custom, it looks like it came form toybiz or something.

You're really getting there, but there's still too much black, even on the second one.
I think your best bet would be to add just about the least amount of smudged black possible around the eyes, and then to get that 'worn' look, try drybrushing some skintone on his face. I agree that that the Movie Masters Joker didn't have dark enough eyes, but use just a little bit, and possibly even gray instead of black. From the interrogation scene on, his makeup was just about gone. I think the way to go for a worn look is LESS makeup, not more.
Man, the scaled-down version of the viral marketing papers make really neat accessories, though, don't they?
Also - did you work on the hair any? The original figure's hair seems much, much too green to me. The Joker's hair struck me as just a brownish-greenish dirty color. That might help, too.

Are you referring to the amount of paint I added to the face or the darkness of it? It isn't exactly black by the way. I did add some white paint this time -- it's more of a darkish gray than it is a black. I don't have a digital camera so instead I used my video camera but it doesn't work all that too well because it makes the eyes look darker than they actually are. Yes, I think the accessories are great. I'll be sculpting The Jokers mask from the "Bank Robbery" Scene for my next Joker custom. I didn't do anything to the hair as I still don't know the proper brown color to use. I noticed a seller on ebay repainted a Joker as a custom and re-did the hair and it came out perfect. I'm just not sure what "shade" of brown would match his appearance. I'm still new to painting figures -- these Jokers are the first figures I ever painted so I definitely hope I improve as time goes by.
