After a brutal destruction of Keith Jardine in May, UFC light-heavyweight Wanderlei Silva (32-8-1 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has been told by UFC officials to prepare for a December return. The win was Silva's first victory in almost two years, and the famed light heavyweight shared his thoughts on his next bout while a guest co-host on a recent edition TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com), the official radio partner of MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "I'm talking with (UFC co-owner) Lorenzo (Fertitta)," said Silva, who's English continues to improve since a move to Las Vegas. "They're talking about December because it is the best event of the year. (Antonio Rodrigo) Nogueira is going to fight (Frank) Mir for the belt for the heavyweights. "This is the best event. It's much more promotion. They told me to be ready to fight in December." Silva said he doesn't yet know who he will face on the card. "They gave me 10 (possible) names," Silva said. "My division is the best division in the world. They have so many names. I think they're going to give a good opponent to me." While several names have been rumored, a possible third bout between Silva and ex-champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been brought up repeatedly as of late. Perhaps unsurprisingly, in light of his two previous knockout victories over Jackson, Silva said he would be open to the match-up. "I wanted to fight [Jackson] again," Silva said. "I think it's a very good match." Despite recent troubles, including three straight losses to Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, Dan Henderson and Chuck Liddell before the victory over Jardine, Silva still has his eyes focused on the UFC's light heavyweight title. "For me, I have time to fight for the belt in the future, no problem," Silva said. "I'm going to wait for my opportunity. I'm going to give my best on every fight. After I win my fights, I'm going to have an opportunity to fight for the belt." And regardless of whom the UFC brings forth in December, Silva knows he'll be ready. "For me, no problem," Silva said. "I'll fight with everybody." Silva also discussed the advantages of his relocation to the U.S., his relationship with his old Chute Boxe teammates and the opening of his own gym in Las Vegas. I can't wait until he fights again. Shogun's possibly fighting Coleman, Nog/Mir title fight, and now Wandy's return. Who could his opponents be?
Liddell: Maybe Rashad: No Jardine: Hell no Rampage: Not likely Shogun: Has an opponent already for the same show, or the show before this Anderson Silva: Could be a possibility if he gets by Cote un injured and if he wants to go up to 205 again and he's stated that he wants to have another fight after Cote this year Forrest Griffin: Could be a possibility Rich Franklin: Assuming he gets by Hamill un injured, he could be a possibility Vera: Fighting in October Machida: Maybe, fighting Thiago Silva in October Thiago Silva: See Machida

Liddell: not likely after he loses to Rashad Evans Rashad: if he comes out uninjured..possibly a set up for the top contender for the title between him and Wandy Jardine: Hell no...not after his massacre Rampage: might not be out of jail yet Shogun: didnt know he was fighting Coleman.. Anderson Silva: I see him staying in his weight class Forrest Griffin: Would love it !!!! PLEASE PLEASE Rich Franklin: nahh..after he got murdered twice by Silva, I think a fight with Hamill doesnt put him that high on the charts Vera: not happening, especially when you see him get raped by Jardine Machida: Possibly..as long as he puts on a better performance than against Tito..he was BORING in that fight, we all know if you are boring, Dana White dont like you..he wants FIGHTERS..not retreaters. Thiago Silva: nah..he is going to lose to Machida
so the only real possibilities I see are
Forrest Griffen for the belt Lyoto Machida Rashad Evans
I think it will be one of those three with Machida being the top choice I think. the guys wants to be on the charts and challenging for the title...give him Wandy

Wandy/Machida would be an very interesting fight, I think.
That said, Wandy needs at least one more dominating blitzkrieg smackdown before he challenges for Griffin's belt. It's too soon to say that the old Wandy is back and ready to lay down the pain.
Whoever he fights next, if he gets the W he'll be in full "comeback" mode. If not, he'll continue to be on a shaky road.

I knew an October fight in Chicago was far fetched. At least he should fight again before the end of the year.
