I see a lot of people on here talking about how Johnny Devine is amazing and they love him. I've only seen him on TNA and I've watched TNA since day one and I don't see what the big deal is. With that said, does anyone have any good matches where he puts forth his ability?

I always figured the Devine marks were those who met the guy... however I don't think he's being used even close to his full potential.

Moreso because since Serotonin dissolved and he became a big part of the show again uniting with Team 3D I think he's improved massively, I liked his mini feud with Jay Lethal and his mic work I think is quite good. I also like the fact the brung back the Papparazzi gimmick for himself, I always enjoyed that. His moveset I kinda like too. Of course just being my opinion. |

Well, this isn't a bash thread. This is me trying to figure out some hype on a guy, so no complaining about him or Creed for that matter. Thanks for the post Layth. I guess I just don't watch his stuff close enough. There are two people in TNA that I don't see the big deal about: Hoyt and Devine. It's cool to see why people actually hype them up.

Now Dielawn! Lance Hoyt is a completely different story, I can't stand that guy, he use to have so much potential, in 2005 he was great, now it's just a shame he's squandered it.

Jp is a good wrestler,just never gets the chance. johnny is also legit tough (ex military too) and can strike fear into anybody (trust me i know) and has one hell of a sharp tounge....he could easliy make one of the best heels in TNA

Devine is like a lot of the younger talent in TNA, has the ability to have better matches but doesn't really have the attitude or even the aura to be a bigger star and thus you really can't push him because there is no way to market the guy. Obviously with the cobra stuff on him and the goofy appearance they are trying for a mixed Miz/CM Punk look.

Johnny Devine with a microphone in front of his face is pure gold... I know that much because I've seen and heard alot of his stuff personally. He's got a fantastic look, he is VERY capable in the ring (When given good time with an opponent not sent to squash him, his matches in TNA have been pretty impressive). Unfortunately there is no one on Youtube uploading his indy matches but I have some "Best Of" tapes that I could try uploading some clips.
In short, I think Devine is fantastic because he is the total package just not in the sense that TNA wants. He is one of the most charasmatic people in the company, one of the best on the mic and can definitely hold is own in the ring... Generally, he's fantastic...

I really like Devine, he seems to bring it no matter what the gimmick. It's something tangible. He just has a certain it that drew me in. But then again, I like almost all heels. |
