Fight Line:
Brock Lesnar was good enough to take some time out of preparing for his fight with Heath Herring to sit down with our good friend Larry Pepe of ProMMARadio.com Lesnar opened up to Pepe and was very candid about a number of topics. Check out some of the following quotes:
Lesnar On Kimbo:
Kimbo is CBS and Elite XC’s marketing tool. The UFC promotes fighters and in return they become superstars. Kimbo showed his true self in his last fight. I don’t even know who he fought, that’s how popular it was.
Lesnar On His Fight With Frank Mir:
"I was winning the fight and made a foolish, amateur mistake. I pretty much dominated the whole fight until the finish.
Lesnar On Referee Steve Mazzagatti:
I never received a warning and I was told in the locker room that I would. It’s just an inconsistency in the reffing by that particular referee. Every fight I watch him ref there’s just a lot of inconsistency. I thought I won the fight when they stopped it. He was raising my hand and to this day I’ve never seen someone get their hand raised (unless they’ve won)."
Lesnar On His Upcoming Fight With Heath Herring:
"I don’t feel threatened by him at all. I really don’t. Supposedly he’s coming in heavier and in better condition, but we’ve all heard that before. He’s not a good wrestler at all." ------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting. I think he should be worried about Herring. He poses a lot of problems. I do agree about what he sai about Mazzagatti. He didn't get a warning before he got the point taken away like most fighters do.

Some very interesting points, many of which I agree with. APART from how unconcerned he seems about herring, Heath is a genuine threat to anyone

Herring's a threat, but Lesnar has always seemed cool and collected, bordering on cocky, when it comes to his MMA fights.
Also, I'm beginning to strongly dislike Mazzagatti. He's incredibly inconsistent, and he's starting to develop the trend that any borderline-important fight he's reffing always seems some type of controversy arise.

I can see why Brock has a problem with Mazzagatti. He doesn't get a warning and later when he taps Mazzagatti doesn't see is and he stays in the hold a little longer and has to start tapping again untill Mazzagatti breaks the hold up, it could have done real harm to him if Mir had him in the hold much longer than he did.

I hope Lesnar can back that talk up this time.
I do agree with him though. Herring is an awesome fighter very strong and picked a part who many thought was next in line for the title, Cheick Kongo. He almost took Big Nog out in the first round but made a mistake about not following up with it. He can definately take Lesnar out. But I also think this is a fight Lesnar needs. Herring is a legit fighter but he fits in better with Lesnars style more than Mir did.
I don't see why all the hate on Kimbo. The guy is still learning. It is only smart for Elite to try and capitalize on his youtube popularity.

Maybe Brock can make it out of the first round this time .......... - Iron Heart My guess is that, if it doesn't go to round two, it means Heath Herring is staring up at the lights wondering what just hit him.

Despite Lesnar sounding like a total douche I agree with everything he said.

Brock understands MMA it would seem and I am glad to see that he is demonstrating some very tactful opinions. I would have thought that he would be outspoken and done something foolish but he didn't.

Kind of late on reading this, but even if it's all ego on Brock's part, I felt Heath was built up to be far better than he is. He's always been like that, and hasn't ever impressed me from what I've seen. So, yeah, Brock shoots and scores. ;D

IF you dont believe me look at some of his PRIDE fights. (Minus his Fedor fight.)

He comes off so inadequate, as if the he does just enough to get a judge's decision and has no true skill to do anything within the fight. If I had to go on, I'd just look for a clip of him in the UFC as proof.

Mazzagatti is a f'n smuck. Almost as bad a move he did there as an early Herb Dean stoppage.
