Can anyone remember the original MVP (baseball player with a baseball as face paint) 94'ish i would guess.
Does anyone know...
a) who he was? b) how long did he last for, i seem to remember him lasting about as long as the goon?
I wonder if he was such an insignificant stain on the history of wwf/e that they completely forgot about using this name... as they are obviously using the same name today, with no link what so ever between the 2 characters.
and one last thing, has this ever happened, any other times.. a name being reused (with no link or similarities between the characters)?
bit of a random selection of questions, but i have never thought about this persona one single time in the last 13 years until 5 mins ago.

It was Steve Lombardi, and he was only around for about as long as Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz, another lame Lombardi baseball character.

Steve Lombardi will some how figure out how to swivle his way into the HOF, after all, he did play the most legendary characters of all time: The Brooklyn Brawler, Kimchi, Doink the Clown, and The Greatest Wrestler Ever, Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz.

Don't forget,
Undertaker made his debut with the WWF as "Cain the Undertaker" back in 1990, or seven years before the character "Kane" was introduced.

Dale Torborg was named MVP in WCW shortly before becoming the KISS Demon. He looked like one of the Furies from The Warriors Which was pretty great. Can you dig that?

When the baseball players went on strike in 1994, MVP/Knuckeball Schwartz did the same. He'd walk through the crowd with a sign reading "I'm on strike, too!" Shortly after, he emerged as The Brooklyn Brawler.
