Just reading this article on PWmania: "Former WWE star Damian Demento has resurfaced online. He has a page on MySpace, which you can access at www.myspace.com/dementedbydesign. As of late he's been on a crusade to stop blading in professional wrestling. He wrote a blog saying he was going to hand out a flier at tonight's WWE show at Madison Square Garden in hope of bringing attention to the matter. Demento wrote: "This sick practice has to stop. It can no longer be ignored. When wrestling promoters and writers tell the public that these injuries came the "hard way" (unintentional), they're lying! Most are blade jobs. They're just trying to maintain an old industry secret. This has to stop being performed in front of children! It has to stop it now!" I just wanted to hear different opinions about this, do you think blading should stop or carry on, not just WWE other feds as well?

Funny, because they're blading less now. Dude should turn on a TV.
EDIT: He should go down to Florida on a crusade to stop 'pre-bloodied' towels too.

I don't see the need for blading...
Does a match really have to be a gorefest to be entertaining?

I don't see the need for blading... Does a match really have to be a gorefest to be entertaining? When you're watching an I Quit match, it sure adds to the realism of the match, doesn't it?

I don't see the need for blading... Does a match really have to be a gorefest to be entertaining? A bit of blood does no harm, depending on the angle. If the hell in a cell with Edge/Taker just gone by had to have seen both men covered in blood then it would have done the match wonders. Not bleeding in that match may have damaged the believability and threatening nature of the hell in a cell. And the end of the match looked like a Mr. Bean skit. However, in a match like an Ironman or whatever, where the storyline is "im the better technical wrestler than you" then blood is probably just going to damage the feud. Works both ways, but this jabroni is just looking for attention.

I mean I cant condone blading coz well its just a guy cutting himself! But blood in wrestling is pretty important to sell and injury...it shudnt be but it just is! So maybe better options need to be looked at!

And you answer the question. I think blood is very necessary. Do you guys remember old matches where like Austin or Rock had a submission on the other, and the person applying the move is screaming with blood dripping down their face. It makes it memorable in some ways. At the end, you can say that these two men went to hell and back with each other, not because you saw the match but because you see they are covered in blood, which some of it isnt even theirs.

Not just because you can.....

It really depends on the match and the feud. Not every main event Championship match needs blading. But something like Michaels vs. Jericho at the GAB was fantastic because it showed how aggressive Jericho was and really sold Michaels' being forced to give up the match.
Something like Matt Hardy and Edge way back in the day was a great feud at first that could have benefited from more blood (seriously, the trickle Matt had that they stopped the match for was ridiculous.)
I don't think blading should go away, but it should be lessened for greater importance.

Too much blood is bad, but no blood is worse. I think I summed it up.
