Fabio Capello picks his squad for the World Cup Qualifiers against Andorra & Croatia (AWAY) tonight, what are you're thoughts on Capello as England manager, hopes for who is in the squad and predictions to the Crucial games next week, they are crucial as only one team qualifies from the group without playoff games to play, so in my opinion we need 4 points from these two games.
Capello as Manager:
He is a great club manager. I have been unimpressed by the way the team has played under him thus far but it's only been friendlies. He blames it on player development in this country, I agree it is an issue which is why I think the big clubs in England should buy and bring in more English players, take them away from the mid-table teams and give them the chance to play Champions League football. The players can be blamed but these are top quality players, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand, Rooney, they all play great for their clubs but then look like limp dicks for England most of the time. For me it's the management, the constant problem with England is the unwillingness to take a chance on different players, the managers don't have the balls to pick players like Walcott, Young, Agbonlahor & a player who I never recall being picked Jimmy Bullard and put their absolute faith behind them. It shows a lack of confidence, picking the same players for every game when they didn't even play good football. It's the managers job to stimulate the players into playing good football, to motivate them and tell them how to play. So far under Capello we've looked like a pub team just out to have a bit of fun and exercise. A big improvement is needed and he needs to bring in new players, international experience? It is not a requirement.
Hopes for who is included in the squad:
I want these players to be included, I'm sure a few will and think at least for the Andorra game a fair few should play: Dean Ashton, Gabi Agbonlahor, Jimmy Bullard, Ashley Young, Stewart Downing, Glen Johnson, Joe Hart and Theo Walcott. Out of those and including the regulars, this should face Andorra: Hart, A Cole, Brown, R Ferdinand, Terry, Downing, Young, Bullard, Barry, Agbonlahor & Ashton. Really this sort of team should of played together in a friendly beforehand, that's what friendlies are for. But the whole team needs to be shook up.
Predictions for the two games:
The first game against Andorra will test patience but I think we'll beat them by at least 2 goals. Croatia is a really tough match away but we are capable of getting at least a point, it doesn't mean play for a draw, it means try and beat the buggers and have faith that a good to great performance is good enough for a point, if we don't play with confidence and play attack minded we could get mauled. A score draw.
So, you're thoughts?
