PRETEND Fedor was a free agent & could sign with anyone & think about this just in terms of money.
I think this poses an interesting question. While majority of MMA die-hards (if not all) want Fedor/Couture, would his lack of U.S. exposure perhaps hurt the draw of money? The UFC does a great job with their hype videos & can make any fight look interesting, but I just don't think the casual fan would buy this PPV because they don't understand how big this fight would be.
Then look at Brock. Yes, most of us think he is not ready yet. But when it comes to "big star status," he's got to be in the top 5 in the company. No doubt, this will draw huge money, despite anyone's opinion.

i dont know I think that because of the internet community and the general Feder lovers...that the Fedor vs Couture match might draw just as much money...I know I would love to see that as well as just about my entire clan of friends that watch MMA...then again we would all watch it in the same house so lol.

Fact is, alot of MMA fans are only casual fans and at least half of the MMA fans in the world have no clue who Fedor is, which is depressing but true.

Lesnar draws appeal from pro-wrestling fans, as well as MMA fans and goes on name value. I have plenty of MMA friends that are casual watchers that have NO idea who Fedor is. Couture vs Lesnar is easily the bigger draw.

Couture vs. Lesnar is bigger, as far as the green goes.
Real MMA fans would rather Couture vs. Fedor any day of the week.

Unfortunately Lesnar vs. Couture is a much bigger draw. A lot of the casdual UFC fans have no idea who Fedor is whilst Lesnar brings crossover appeal with WWE fans interested in how he does.
Look at the numbers Fedor vs. sylvia former UFC champion did with a great card to back it up. Lots of various numbers but most seem to indicate under 100K, I'd imagine the UFC is looking for ten times that with UFC 91. WE might know that Fedor is the best heavyweight walking the planet but the general public certainly don't. Judging by the posts on this board most seem to think it's sodding lesnar!!!

As it stands right now, Lesnar is a bigger draw in this country than Fedor. But the wildcard is UFC's marketing push, or lack thereof.
If they bring in Fedor and spend a large chunk of time/money hyping him before the fight happens, they could bring casual fans up to speed enough to get curiosity buys from them. Especially since they own the video rights to his entire PRIDE career.
Look how well the UFC utilized the footage of Heath Herring knocking out the guy after he kissed him. With the right publicity, they can build interest in a fighter UFC fans might not be terribly familiar with.

couture vs fedor i think would be a big draw with lesnar in the card below them, i mean youll see two of the biggest heavyweights who have never faced each other, and youll also see brock on the same card, win win.

That was not really an option as Couture is actually facing Brock Lesnar. Fedor is not.

I really wasn't talking about option wise, i was talking about what actually would be cool to see. Once brock gets knocked out im sure people will stop being all over his balls.
