Two time:
1) He won KOTM 2007
2) He defeated Sting (about two weeks after Sting defeated him at BFG 2007)

If you mean in total with wwe/tna/wcw/japanese titles then I think it is 10 reigns as a world champ.

1X World Heavyweight Champion
4X WWE Champion
2X TNA World Champion
1X WCW Champion
IWGP Title
So, by my count, he's a 9X world champion, but for some reason TNA counts his gold medals, which there are 3 of. so 9+3= 12x.

I looked it up on WWE.com, though i still might be wrong. 1X World Heavyweight Champion 4X WWE Champion 2X TNA World Champion 1X WCW Champion IWGP Title So, by my count, he's a 9X world champion, but for some reason TNA counts his gold medals, which there are 3 of. so 9+3= 12x. Call me stupid, but how is there three when he only won one gold medal at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics. |

yeah I was just watching the rfvideo shoot he had a crapon that said angle 11x. I was thought damn he been a champ 11times but if he counts the medals thats total bs

Ive actually heard it around here, and just thought it was right, because he has his "11X" flame rights before his last TNA title win, and it added up right. ***EDIT**** I was looking on wiki and it says he is a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I champion, so maybe they count those, + his gold medal. my bad  But either way, its kind of dumb, they shouldnt count his medal, or any collegiate titles, they should only tally up his PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING world championships, so in my book he's a 9x champ. Its just a cheap way for TNA to make him look better i guess, but hey, 9 times is nothing to sneeze at. |

He was also PPW (Power Pro Wrestling) Heavyweight Champion in 1999 so this would be another reign to make it 10x. Even though its farm league, he probably counts it as it was his first ever title win. After thinking about where the 11th reign comes from i believe he counts himself as a former NWA World Champion. If you remember the last night TNA used the NWA Titles, it was Christian/Sting/Angle for the World title which Angle won and thus had the NWA title (even if the NWA had recognised Christian as being its last champion before getting the belts back). The next night he came out with the new TNA World Title. This is the only thing i can think off. |

there may be a case for him with the NWA, but their ties to TNA ended hours before he 'won' the title at Sacrifice 07, so NWA don't recognise it. and also he won the IGF version of the IWGP title, but it shouldn't be recognised

Well angle won three medals two in the 96 Olympics and 1 in the 95, the one he won in 95 is pretty much the same as his Olympic gold just without the whole Olympic thing, and for the fact the he won those from some of the best wrestlers in the world I'd count them as world titles
