TNA has had some discussions on iMPACT! going live on a bi-weekly basis. The show would go live every other Thursday, and the taped iMPACT! would tape every other Friday, to be aired the following week.
This is being considered an "experiment" because the company as a whole has very little experience in live TV and their is concern that the shows only look as good as they do due to all the post-production work. TNA has tentative plans to do a live iMPACT! on Thursday, March 27. The date would coincide with WrestleMania, as it's only a few days before the event and it would give wrestling fans in the area a chance to experience the product.
There is also talk that when the change is made, TNA will start taping their programming in High Definition.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the month of January, iMPACT! averaged a 1.16 cable rating.
The 1/25 house show in Troy, OH drew 1,500 fans. The 1/26 show in Niles, OH was a sellout of 1,000 fans in a 600-seat arena.
From Martin White: I've just been watching TNA Impact on Bravo and noticed Eric Youngs BDC title belt is a customised WWE championship belt. (I'm sorry.. but no crapsherlock..)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm waiting for the whole "WWE goes HD & now TNA is." but the funny thing is TNA experinced with HD before WWE just hasn't gone HD all the way. It's great to see TNA sell out a venue even if it only is 1,000.

i'm not saying this as a dig, because i love tna.
but would they really be able to afford HD? - not in the sense that they wouldn't be able to buy the equipment, but in the sense that it would just be another investment in something expensive that would ultimately take away from the little (if any) profit they're already making.

SpikeTV most likely will help them out much like they did with Sting.

SpikeTV most likely will help them out much like they did with Sting. I read that Spike was getting HD stuff, and they're helping TNA since it's one of their top programs.

Does Spike even have an HD signal they send out?
I'm honestly not sure.

I'm pretty sure they even have more HD channels than Dish Network (who until recently had the valid claim of offering the most HD channels).
