Here is my latest custom, Deluxe aggression Owen Hart! The body is from a deluxe 15 Finlay and the head is from a Ruthless Agression Kenny Dykstra. I sanded down the headband on Kenny and resculpted his entire hairline. I glued on the hair from Ruthless agression CM Punk (the non-smiling head) to the back and made the hair seamless. I designed the lettering, harts/crowns and lion crests in illustrator myself. A reminder that I seal all my figures, customs and not, with testors dullcoat to get rid of the unrealistic shiny plastic jakks uses and elevate the overall look of the figure quality wise. Thanks for looking!

The boots are severely inaccurate, Owen had silver eyelets, not pink, and the tongue was black, also not pink. He wore white laces, and you missed the heart/lightning bolt on the sides of his boots.
Considering how little you painted on this you should've gotten the stuff you did paint accurate.

Thanks guys!
Owen wore a lot of different boots actually. I based the figure off of my favorite Owen Hart match with Bret. Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (29/9/94) (It's on the second disc of the Bret Hart 3 disc DVD). The boots have black laces and no logo on the side of them. The only thing not accurate to that match is the fact that he wore pink kneepads which I didn't want to attempt because the paint would crack on the soft rubber. But I did attempt the double left kneepad he wore in the match.

Those details are pratically falling off. It's a shame since you did a great job on the head.

If you are basing this figure off of the September 29th 1994 match then it is even more inaccurate. His boots did have a symbol on the side, a silver lightning bolt. His boot laces were white, the tongues were black and the eyelets were silver.
Also, the trim on his singlet was white, as were the lines running along the bottom of the singlet legs, not pink.

Either GCS has a good memory or did alot of research! But either way yea despite this being a great custom I believe it is innaccurate as I looked u some pics and what GCS is saying seems true.

I actually just rewatched the mach and I think you're right about the white laces on the boots. I still don't see any logo on the boots though. On the back of these boots are three white linear designs going vertically from the bottom of the boot to the top thats what I saw in the match, I didn't recognize them as lighting bolts though but i tired to match the shape of them.
But to be honest actually I don't really care what color his laces and the trim of his siglet are, that's too minor a concern to go about changing it now. Plus I know that he did have pink trim and black laces as part of his other attires because i pulled a lot of reference photos when making this so weather its from one specific match, even if it were inspired by my favorite one doesn't really matter to me.

Yes well if he was your favorite wrestler you would take the time to do him accurately and not throw something together because you're either too lazy to do it right or not smart enough to know what he wore.
Considering you painted about three things on his gear and got zero of them correct I'd say you don't know Owen nearly as well as you think and maybe you aren't as big a fan as you claim.

I think it looks amazing. Some people are always going to turn their noses up at decals, but I prefer them when they are done right. I'd rather get a figure that looks like it's a mass produced figure than a figure that is obviously hand painted by someone. Rarely do hand-painted logos look anywhere near accurate enough. I also think you did a good job covering up the headband-covered tops of the ears. It's just great work all around.

Thanks guys for looking, Also, I've never claimed that everything I've done is complete and utterly accurate and I don't really care if it is anyways as long as I'm happy with it but I hope posting what Ive done to enhance my collection can inspire others to do the same and we can share ideas on how to do it. So lets drop it and pick up some paintbrushes and about a million random dismantled Jakks figures and have some fun! Besides aren't we all missing Raw right now? Also for the record Owen's not my favorite wrestler. I didn't post that anywhere anyway, Mr. bundle of joy, grasping at straws, missunderstood and tired to use it as a point to get me mad or something of the like, but I wouldn't want to let anyone go on believing that I didn't like Eddie best of all! I am from Calgary though by the way so Owen's not so bad in my books.

I still think this is an amazing Owen man, as for accuracy its your custom and it looks perfectly fine to me
I dont know why some people are taking so much offense to the attire and use of decals
All i know is im totally jealous that you got a pretty nice Owen and all i got is all three Kenny Dykstra figures waiting to be turned into Owen Harts one day

Wow! is all i have to say. Everything is so smooth and the use of that torso is really good. Painting is good and the CM Punk DA hair just sets it off! Awsome

Great job. I know you said in another post your a graphic designer. What program do you use to make the logos, and if I can find it free online. I am not a designer, but I dabble a little bit. I am a big fan of your customs.......keep up the good work.
On a side note. Does anyone else think that gatecitysinner is a big D@*K. This guy busted his ass on this and all you can do is pick the boots apart. Lets see one of your customs, or are you just an bunghole who doesn't make anything yourself, but criticizes other peoples hard work. You should probably stop spending soooooooo much time looking at Owen Hart and maybe for once in your miserable life try and get laid.

Personally I think it looks amazing...although some of the decals do look like they aren't completely on the figure. I love the head modifications and I think the Tazz torso was a great choice as I always felt Owen was barrel chested. so that works for him.

Thanks for looking!
I use adobe illustrator to design the decals, you can find it for free with torrents and such but its not completley legal to download it that way (just a heads up). You'd need a knowledge of vector format to design them in that program.
Also I think because of the black some of the decals look like they are floating but they are all on very flush to the body. The only part of the decal design that bugs me is how spaced apart the King, the heart and the "of Harts" is on the side, but if I made the design any bigger it would interfere with movement of the joints.
