in' Nate Diaz wins again...I can't stand that guy. Granted, he's a hell of a fighter, but I just can't stand him. I can't wait until someone beats his in' ass for once. I'd love to see Karo mess him up or maybe a re-match with Manny, but he's way ahead of Manny at this point. Matter of fact, Nate has got to be close to getting a title shot here shortly. He's undefeated in the UFC so far, so a title shot can't be that far away. Good luck beating Penn though. Diaz has a snowball's chance in hell of beating Penn for the belt. Diaz is not close to a title match yet. Ahead of Diaz: Tyson Griffin Frankie Edgar Grey Maynard Kenny Florian Joe Stevenson Sean Sherk Roger Huerta I want to see Diaz beat someone before he's even talked about in a shot for any title. He still has to get past the Stout, Fisher, Guida, Danzig, Lauzon, Clementi level, then beat one of the fighters I just mentioned...THEN he can mention BJ Penn. I really wanted to see Diaz vs Danzig. But now, I'd put together Diaz vs Fisher. If he can get by Fisher, let him fight Maynard or Griffin later. I think Tyson Griffin would absolutely RIP through Nate Diaz.

One thing's for sure... anyone who even gets NEAR a shot at BJ Penn fought his ass off to get there. I agree that Diaz is exceedingly likely to lose to most (or all) of those guys, based on recent performances. I'm not as sold on his submissions after watching Neer hang with him so well. Nate doesn't hit any harder than his brother does, but so far, he doesn't look as precise as Nick does with his strikes. Nick's a soft striker, but at least he lands a bunch (which is important if the fight goes to the scorecards). I will say though, that I have a feeling Nate Diaz is hard to knock out. I just get that "stone skull" vibe from him. I'm not basing that on evidence... just a hunch. EDIT: I'd like to add that "Bother" by Stone Sour might be the most depressing song ever chosen as entrance music by a UFC fighter. Way to go, Neer!

I hate to say I called it...
..but Houston is gone. I was impressed with his takedown defense at first and his striking looked sharp. But it seems like his spirit breaks and he just kind of gives up.
Guida is a beast. The Geico Caveman is just amazing. I want to see him fight Kenny Florian as I think that is a fight Florian would lose.
Neer vs. Diaz was a good fight, much better than I expected. But I agree Diaz looks like he throws some really soft hands..his striking looks nothing like his brothers. Nick doesn't throw power shots but they are still powerful shots to at least stun your opponent to distract them from what he plans on doing next like setting up a takedown.
Overall an average night of fights. The main event could have been better.

Guida owns, I still think he is the most under-rated fighter in all of the UFC. Even in his losses he looks good.

I knew it was Stone Sour but didn't know the title. Yeah, it's a bummer of a song to come out too

Solid fights -Houston fought like crazy to keep it but damn he needs to learn some serious sub defence. He can't keep riding that jardine win forever, still fair play to Schafer he had to fight for the win.
-Herman loses again, kick that annoying fool out of here dana please! It was actually a close fight, I think that Belchers striking won him the fight. Still the important thing is that Herman won.
-Then Guida demonstrated that incredible pace of him, he's just relentless. Danzig was so much crisper with technique but Clay just doesn't care. A well deserved victory.
-Nate vs. Neer was for me the fight of the night, another really close fight. Nate again looked quality on the ground but as mentioned already his striking leaves a lot to be desired.
Here's hoping for Nate vs. Guida on this December For The Troops special, would be a quality fight & would show just what Diaz can offer to the upper echelon of the weight class

Pretty lackluster night for Houston. He's strictly a "maul" type fighter. If he can't manage to stun you with a punch and overwhelm you in the clinch or while pummeling you in the mount, he isn't going to pose much of a threat. I was thrilled to see him show take down defense, but I had a feeling he'd get worn down eventually.
At his age, I don't think he has many, if any, more shots left in the octagon. Two devastating 1st round wins, followed by three devastating (well the recent one was not too bad, but showed how he isn't a well rounded fighter at all) 1st round losses doesn't look too good.
Great win for Guida, and a good showing by Danzig. Guida just has a crushing pace that Mac couldn't combat. Hopefully this pushes the little caveman up the LW ladder.

Everytime I see Guida fight, I think of Animal form the Muppets. Every time he punches in my head I hear "ANIMAL! ANIMALLL!!!"

The UFC just resigned him before this fight for a 5 fight deal. So 4 more to go. He will always be a good undercard fight because he has knockout power. Last night was hard for me to watch. I held my woman and sat down and watched. I am sorry I haven't posted much or anything but Evan's passing has really messed me up. I have been drained. And haven't even gone home to Seattle yet. I am still in California. So don't worry Churchy I will send out the Faber gloves I got for you as soon as I get home brother.
