Before Anderson retires, we've got to see Silva vs. Silva at least once!! If there could possibly be a bigger fight than Couture vs. Lesnar, Silva vs. Silva would damn sure be it. What a fight that would be....I'd probably bet on them both, that way I'd win either way. LOL.
Anderson is so dominant at his own weight class, he's got to move up to Light-Heavyweight and stay there. There are so many other good fights he could have...vs. Jardine, vs. Houston Alexander, vs. Chuck, vs. Rampage, vs. Rashad, vs. Shogun, vs. Forrest and yes, vs. Wanderlei Silva.
I'd love to see Anderson fight all of those guys and more if he can. Out of those guys I mentioned, I see him fighting either Forrest, Rampage or Wanderlei and that's it.
It's a shame that he's retireing so soon. He's a deadly, awesome fighter and it'll be sad to see him hang up the gloves.

UPDATE
MMAMANIA:
“Anderson’s goal is to retire when he is 35. He still has six fights on his contract and he doesn’t turn 35 for another 18 months. I know he will finish his six fights before he considers hanging up his gloves.”
Ed Soares — the manager for UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva — clarifies the wild retirement revelation that the Brazilian made in a recent interview right here. The interesting thing here is that Soares indicates that Silva could consider retirement when he fulfills his contractual obligations and hits the ripe old age of 35. Silva is currently 33 years old, meaning he could very well retire around the time he initially mentioned — we’re talking about perhaps a difference of six or seven months. And if he continues to press UFC President Dana White to be more active it’s possible that he could squeeze in six fights in the next 18 months.
===============================================================
Maybe that's the reason he's wanted more fights, so he can get those six fights on his contract out of the way.

If he does what a way to go out...on top.
He has nothing to prove really. He straight up dominated a division of fighters unlike any other fighter ever has (besides Fedor). I would want to see him fight all of those guys at LHW but honestly I don't want to see a half-motivated, only doing it for the money Anderson Silva fight....because if he isn't really into it he will lose...I would rather his UFC record stay clean and for him to retire when he feels it is his time.

Geez, if he has six fights in the next 18 months, that would be unpresidented. I don't believe any other fighter in the history has ever done that. Usually a top fighter like Silva has about 2, maybe 3, fights in a year's time. And Anderson wants to squeeze 6 fights in that amount of time?? Wow...
I guess he's looking way past Patrick Cote and not even thinking about a possible injury he could have in that fight. Hey man, it's possible...Anything can happen in this crazy sport of MMA. Any fighter can beat another fighter on any given night. We've seen too many upsets to prove that point over and over again.
If he's got 6 fights left, and I'm assuming the fight with Cote is included in that 6, here's the remaining 5 fights I'd love to see him have.
1. vs. Wanderlei Silva 2. vs. Forrest Griffin 3. vs. Chuck Liddell 4. vs. Rashad Evans 5. vs. Rampage Jackson
Those 5 fights MUST happen at some point and if he can beat them all, then he truly will be the greatest fighter of all-time because he will have beaten the best of the best.

Wow! The thing is, I can respect people "walking away" with their health. exactly how i feel. not only that, but truly a good representative of mma to the rest of the world for someone with such a good head on their shoulders to consider their health.

The talk started in late September.
That’s when Anderson Silva, the UFC middleweight champion regarded by many as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, said on a Brazilian TV show that he was going to retire in 2009.
Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, explained that his fighter would finish out the six remaining bouts on his UFC contract. Although Soares’ statement seemed to appease some fans, others understood that Silva’s retirement could still come soon even if he fights six more times.
“Everything has its time,” Silva told Sherdog.com in an exclusive video interview, “and I believe my time is already over.”
So what would be Silva’s next move if he does retire? Boxing maybe? Coaching?
“I’m going to be fat, with a big belly by the side of the Octagon, eating popcorn behind the scenes, making my imitations and screaming for the fighters: “Go there! Kick his face! Put him down!”
Silva, who is famous around the Brazilian fight scene for his uncanny impersonations of fighters and trainers, also discussed with Sherdog.com whether compensation has played a role in his decision as well as whether he has been motivated to train for his title defense against Patrick Cote on Oct. 25 at UFC 90.
don't know if that was posted already.
If I had to choose 1 fight I would want to see it would be GSP vs. Anderson. I don't think it is physically possible as GSP is a huge welterweight but would be a small Middleweight...and Anderson going down to WW would just look ridiculous..

Man...this really feels like it's gonna happen.
Props to Anderson for retiring with his health and at his best, but damn...there's gonna be a hole in the UFC without him, no doubt.

I hope so. I saw the interview on Sherdog and I'd just hate to have a guy of Anderson's class and caliber retiring when everyone (besides he himself) truly thinks he's barely scraped the surface of his potential.
What I'm hoping for is that, once his contract rolls around and it's 2009, he'll realize that people definitely want him to continue and he'll sign on for at least a few more fights.
