Looks like the Calf Killer is making its way to WWE. Good on WWE to let AJ use a pretty good portion of his moves.

And I was too wrapped up in my own sh*t to realise deadline had passed! Wowzers. Sorry the last week has been a blur for me. Okay so jdfranchise can you send me over the opening match? Also out of interest Revvie® , veronicaaaahhhh and Cameron Stone what happened to you? Sorry for not catching on about the passed deadline guys. I'll do my best to get results and the next card up asap. You'll have all my stuff by tonight. I took my licensing exam today, and that took priority.

Save us? Dude, I suck at returning. I believe everyone here could agree. No, you're great at returning because you've got history here. You suck at staying after you return. Difference. Think you should change that. And come back and stay. At least give SuperBrawl another notable name on the card. *Retrieves Shawn's soapbox*

Just wait until I give you a smoke break. You're gonna love it. Bro, my guy smokes like a factory. Hell, go read the show before the most recent one, the three stages of hell main event I was in for the title. Shenanigans went down in the third stage, causing my guy to stop wrestling, sit at the commentary table and smoke a cigarette he had taped to the bottom of a commentary chair. Mid match. Beat that. XD It was pretty sweet to incorporate that dude. When you told me you were going to do it, I couldn't help but love the defiance.

I'm totally confused. Will the event happen? Some of those odd gimmicks, did any of them work? The event will happen good sir. Strange gimmicks are a mixed bag. It depends on the writer behind the gimmick. You look at Prophet of Ash, he started out as a hobo and evolved into one of the best writers we've ever had come through here.

I've watched that Frank gif play over and over at least 50 times just now. It's hypnotizing. I've been tagged in this thread twice now, soliciting advice for newcomers, and in the rarest of circumstances, I haven't got sh*t to say. For some reason all I can think of right now is Hollywood Honor. Who the f*ck was that guy? That had to be someone joshin' us, right? Like, there's no way some bony jabroni came here and actually thought he was making strides writing that sh*t. It had to be someone in disguise. Sh*t was it funny, though. There's one rp I'll always remember where he ran amok running down his four opponents by saying like one was gonna rape him, and like making up a brother for the other, and bangin' a third one's girlfriend, leaving her so satisfied that she complimented him by saying he was bigger than his opponent "by four inches". Sh*t, man. Then he like went on a murdering spree and then started calling himself H Double and then made some weird story about H Double getting burned in a fire to explain his sudden pic base change from "Madness" era Macho Man to Harley f*ckin' Race. Then he started a new character named BenjA (yes, the A was capitalized) Hart, the long lost Hart brother. What the f*ck kinda name is BenjA? Like Benji, with an A? The worst possible nickname for Benjamin? Yech. There's my advice - don't be that f*ckin' guy, and don't name your character something like Ivan Drago and then play stupid like you didn't know he was a f*ckin' Rocky villain, and you'll be just fine. I killed both Mason Dixon AND Benja Hart. Yes, yes you did. I was there for the Dixon murder. It was bad.

Alright. So I'll have to come up with a name and stuff right. I have a name for a finisher that cscope gave me lol. Aside from that I'm pretty lost. Well not too many people's characters start out unique. Everyone's done the same thing at least once. I'm sure my first character, Malakai, the basis of him being a big tall monster ready to destroy everything has been done a thousand times. I just built up on it over the years and made him a multidimensional character, mainly because Malakai became an extension of me and all of my good personal qualities. Whereas my character now, Sam, is an extension of all of the bad things about me. Take Doobie and make him a character you could see yourself reading about and enjoying. In the end it comes down to you getting out of it what you put in and having fun. It's what the best writers do. Other than the occasional match, I don't go all serious with my character and my writing. I take my matches and opponents seriously as anyone, but I don't do this for the competition as much as I do it just to write whatever the hell I want and to hell with people who may not enjoy it. That's my philosophy. You're gonna be a lot better than you're giving yourself credit for. You're a character in yourself alone. I've got hope for you, but creating the character and the first RP, always the two toughest steps for someone just starting out. I think Drakz , Rated R , jdfranchise , @progwd , Deep Figure Value and Prophet of Ash can all agree that the first hurdle as a brand spanking new writer is a really, really tough one. But it gets easier as you learn. Truth! We do this for fun, that's the primary goal. And bad guy™ is spot on that getting the first rp out of the way is the toughest part mostly because you have not only the structure of an rp to get down (which is different from any type of writing you may have previously attempted), but you're also trying to make a good impression with your character. That's why we have vets to help you learn these skills. I think you'll do fine here once you get your feet under you.

Jerry Rice

Jerry Rice is amazing and always will be. If he was in his prime in today's scheme, he would shatter records left and right. He pretty much already did. How far ahead he is of everyone else in terms of TDs, yards, and catches is nuts. Not to mention 22 TDs in 12 games. I know Moss has the TD record, but it took him 16 games to break it. Rice in his prime in this era would probably be on pace for 28-30 TD's in a 16 game schedule. The man was that good. Take this into consideration too guys, Rice played in an era where receivers would get destroyed going across the middle, often with a linebacker or safety drilling them up high. With the rules changing on point of impact, that would put him in an even more advantageous position because he could run all the routes (a shot at Moss only going vertical). Receivers could learn a lot from watching him, because he is truly a special player.

Introducing a short answer, WFWF operates like a wrestling promotion. We book shows, run angles, have figureheads in leadership roles, etc. What you do is create an original character (things like his backstory, moveset, etc). We provide sign up sheets when people want to participate (or be booked for a match, which is you versus another player(s)). When you get booked, you write a roleplay (your character's story that happens outside the ring). It is competition based where the roleplays are judged, with the best winning the match. Results are written out like a wrestling show. I think I covered the basics. bad guy™, Deep Figure Value, Drakz, Rated R, @progwd you guys want to add anything?

Shawn nailed a lot of my talking points bro, chief among them is that you've proven that you're willing to listen. That's a big part of this game and how you improve your craft. You should be commended for that, especially coming in as green as you are and still giving a good effort.
Content wise, everyone starts somewhere when they begin. Now that you've given us a background on Wolf, this is where you expand on it by utilizing the things you presented. Continue to think about the people in his life and build Trevor by their interactions. Dialouge is difficult at first, but I swear by this, it will help the quality of your work.
I think something that you need to really work on is your presentation, specifically not capitalizing things that needed to be capitalized. The depth and complexity of your sentences will come with experience, but trying to structure your sentences correctly will improve your presentation exponentially.
Overall, it's a pretty solid first outing that you can build on. Continue to listen to the guys that have experience and you will find yourself improving quickly.

So it looks like I'm snowed in. Roughly 8-10 inches outside. How many of you guys have snow? How much accumulation? That is NOT "snowed in". Maybe not snowed in, but I'm not driving in it if I don't have to.

Yeah, Mason Dixon south and East the Pittsburgh/Youngstown/Morgantown tristate area got hit really hard. We got half a foot here in Pittsburgh, nothing we aren't used to. But Florida, Georgia, Kentucky...they got CRUSHED and have nothing they can do. It doesn't snow there. They get an inch and Atlanta, one of the biggest cities in the world, they shut down. Let alone over a foot. DC got it worst though. I think 36+ inches, yikes. Mason Dixon remains one of my favorite forgone roleplayers. Mine too.

So I'm still a little confusedon my RP, do i write a promo then a script type thing or what? I would suggest reading some of the other RPs that have been posted to get a really good feel for it. The best RPs are the ones that detail who you're facing at the next show, why winning this match is so important to you but also goes beyond just the wrestling matches. Give some insight on who your character is as a person, what his motivations are as to why he is competing in the WFWF. Flesh them out as though he's a person with real world goals and ambitions rather than just a talking head that is just cutting wrestling promos. That's about the best I can help. Haha Crowe covered pretty much what you want to look at from a character perspective. veronicaaaahhhh wrote these helpful little guides up a few years ago. I think they provide some good insight on some things you can do. Here are the links: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/102736/mikes-rp-school-character-dialogforum.wrestlingfigs.com/thread/111502/mikes-school-setting-style-toneAlso, if you want me to give what you have a look over, I can do that.

So I'm still a little confusedon my RP, do i write a promo then a script type thing or what? Different people write their rp's differently. Check out mine, Drakz, bad guy™, and Rated R to get an idea how a standard format looks like. We each do something different with them, but we follow the same template.
