I'm guessing basic first and Elite second... really hoping that if I'm right that they're not the exact same attires. Basic will probably be black with the blue without the vest and Elite will probably black with the blue but with the black vest.

Nice collection! They made so many good Shawn figures so far. The Network Spotlight, E19 (HIAC HBK), 1992 Ringside Exclusive, WM 14 Shawn, and even Rockers Shawn. Does anyone know why they haven't made another Rockers set, by the way? It's been so long since that Rockers set came out. Blue rainbow Rockers is probably my #1 want right now. |

Was reallllly hoping Flair would have been anything post 2001 so I wouldn't have to buy it but I love that attire so I guess I'll get it haha. Probably a retail purchase though.

i have all of my holy grail figures but I have a few figures still on my wants list... The 2K14 Warrior and the yellow BP Jake Roberts basic. That's about it. My collection will be fine without either one though.

Only DX themed Shawn attire I want is IYH-DX and I know I'm not alone in wanting that. That's a top 3 want of mine at the moment.

I missed out on Mick Foley's Cactus Jack & Mankind personas so they are big wants of mine - in addition, we need a new Roddy Roddy Piper figure!! But do you need RSC Exclusive Jack and E17 Mankind or would you be happy with cancelled HOF3 Jack and a variant Mankind like instead of black tie, black jogging pants, and white high tops they release him in attire he won the title for the first time?   It's clear we feel exactly the same on this topic haha |

The only reason people wouldn't want a re-release of any figure is because they don't want the value of their precious original release to go down. Don't be fooled. Bring on some of the older releases some missed out on. Not saying this isn't true for some, but I definitely wouldn't say that's the only reason people wouldn't want re-releases. I for one, have zero plans on ever selling my collection so value means absolutely nothing to me. Also, the argument that a re-release reserves a spot in a lineup that another figure could occupy holds a lot of merit. Let me ask you a couple serious questions, and I'm legit not being a dick... Would you or wouldn't you buy a variation of the same figure released before to get it into your collection? Also, why not have a "Best Of" series for for straight re-releases? |

I'm not a fan of straight re-releases in regular lines. I feel like they should do a "Best of" type series for straight re-releases or just not do them at all. I am a fan, however, of re-paints. I buy every version of my favorite (read every classic) guys so I have tons of repaints technically already. All I ask that it be a variation from the original somehow.
For example, if Diesel were to be black top/black pants I would buy it again. If it were to be exactly the same, I won't buy it again. I feel like changing something would reach both markets: the market of the person who wants a Diesel in their collection but won't/can't pay $60 for a loose figure and also the market for the person who buys every legend, or their favorite guy, or the pure completionist. You might even sell to the collector that only collects 1 of every guy if they feel the alteration is an upgrade to the existing figure they already have in their collection.
The only type of collector that straight re-releases appeal to are the ones that need every version of every guy and missed out the first time, whether it's because availability was poor in their area, started collecting late, or regretfully passed the first time. But to be honest, if you want a version of that figure that badly, then wouldn't you buy a re-painted version of that figure anyways to get that guy into your collection?

Why? That looks like a cast of the caw head with painted parts, next to a print out picture from ringside. You may be right, but it looks real to me, and there's a Hollywood sized gaping, smoking crater in my collection. I'm not happy about the short boots though. It's still real to me, dammit!!! |
