Man if that's series 4, they are starting to get boring with these releases. I'm just buying these to buy them, not to fall behind, but I keep asking myself why. Agreed. And each Series selection seems so random. Flair really sticks out I this group. BUT he is the figure I want the most. Also, frequency of these releases are strange. In a 3 month span July-october, we get TEN new figures. Then a few weeks later we get a picture of about 20 prototypes, then no new releases for the next 6 months - and still, only then, we get 4 of them. This Retro line manages to both, rule and suck lol.

And here's the other thing...I know some of you I here have tried buying what's left of Series 1 with the hopes that Walmart will stock up on S2, but no such luck here in the SW burbs of Chicago. Once S1 was gone, the pegs were either just left empty, or the price labels for the Retro line were removed from the pegs altogether. My stores had the OPPOSITE effect lol.

Ive never seen series 2 in stores at all. I've seen them only ONCE. A couple Austin's, a few of Rock and one Mankind. Then it dwindled to one Rock sitting with the rotting Brocks for a month. Nothing after that.

Here's my finished Barbarian. I wanted to add fabric to his attire. Kind of a nod to the Hasbro Berzerker w/ fabric cloak.

The Kane looks awesome, those changes definitely make a difference to the overall figure. William Regal looks good too, I don’t know if it’s the picture or not but it looks like the legs are a shade darker than the torso. Other than that, it’s a really cool figure. Thanks! The head swap was something I really wanted to do. Hasbro was more "cartoony", I get that, but they did go too far with Kane. I wanted a more menacing look. Plus, it added a bit more height. As for the Regal, it's all lighting. He's basically just a Steve Austin figure with a head swap and tights repaint. The skin tones weren't changed at all. I'm looking at doing the New Age Outlaws soon. Warrior for Billy, jumper for Dogg.

Ok, so hit a snag with the HBK. I was removing the paint from the right elbow when I found out that the pin and hinge joint between the inner and outer forearm in actually black plastic - which makes sense, because you don't want the play on the elbow to strip the paint. So I'm replacing the arm with Austin's. In the meanwhile, here's an older figure I did. I still have to print up the pants decal though.. Brian Pillman

Here's two that I'm just beginning. Since I heard the new Retro Shawn is probably going to be the 2005-2010 version, I'm doing 1990's HBK, along with William Regal. I'm using Styles for Michaels because of the boots.

Here's Goldie. Like many others, I was not happy with his jumper body, so I made huge alterations to him. This wasn't my idea though. I forget the guys name, he's on this board, but he did one first, so credit to him. But I loved the idea so much that I tried it too. This is what I meant about the teeth though. I later thinned them out. When I get home from work I'll post updated pics.

My wife's work. Three easy changes that should have been included on these figures. Vest for Austin, belt for Kane, and Gloves for Goldberg. Now if only someone could give the guy teeth smh WOW! Give the Mrs my props! So, why couldn't Mattel take the extra 5 seconds either? Kane no longer looks like he's going to a pajama party lol. And I hear ya on Goldberg. I added teeth to my custom but then thinned the teeth out some. You REALLY have to go in with a toothpick or one of those precision brushes from Hobby Lobby, and then once it's fully dry, go back a day or two later with an exacto knife and clean it up some. I'll dig into my files and post my custom Goldberg. I think it was like 80% done. I had to do some detailing and add the WCW belt at the time.

I see. Ok, the last thing I wanted to do was buy the stuff, make a big production out of it, then it doesn't even work. Since I'm going to a dark glossy brown, I was even thinking perhaps a good undercoat paint/primer then a careful spray paint of the brown..? The big thing is, I hate brush painting skin tones. Even the good ones give it an amateur look. I hate brushing skintones too, but I have never found a spraypaint (outside of Duplicolor Vinyl) that works on figures. Some might say they found some, but I haven't - especially in useful colors. I DO NOT recommend using spray paint on your figures. It does not cure, especially on hard plastics. Because of this, I eventually bought a compressor and an airbrush. TOTALLY worth it. I still use Duplicolor for many of my base coats but they do not have a large selection of colors, including brown, so you won't be able to go that route. Oh no, not ACTUAL spray paint lol. I meant an acrylic aerosol to avoid the brush strokes being visible. Just out of curiosity, what kind of colors would base coats offer me if I purchased a compressor and airbrush? And how much scratch did that cost you? Thanks again.

Thanks! Much appreciated! I'm doing a William Regal circa 2000-2001 using the same body. Val was a pretty quick project to be honest. I put a few tiny pieces of paper towel inside the head when I pop it on to the peg. Makes the head turn with the proper firmness and not super loose. Someone here on these boards gave me that awesome tip.

So just as the title says, basically. What I want to do is use an extra Retro Lesnar and see I'd I could dye the torso brown to make my custom Ahmed Johnson? I'm using an old Ahmed head from a '96 figure that looks a little cartoony but would fit the old "Hasbro style"
If anyone has had experience with this, I'd appreciate any advice just so I don't waste my time. Thanks!

Thanks, brother! But Val Venus would just like to let the ladies know that on Christmas, he's got the yule log...if they've got the fireplace.

I've got multiple projects started. Here's the first stage of doing Hasbro justice for the Barbarian... Awesome! Love this. Thanks! Here's an updated picture. I want to get a fleece fabric and some string to use for his boots. I removed the elbow pads and used rubber band pieces super glued and painted for wrist bands. I also have to allow the paint to completely dry before I did my painted edges with my exacto knife to make it cleaner.
