4 more figures will be up tonight. Heres a preview of another future project in the works... ![](https://i.imgur.com/ExDafC2.jpg) Heres a tip...dont ever throw away extra pieces when you're mashing what you need for a custom. Having a spare Ambrose top and Lesnar bottom allowed me to put together a Bret Hart 2010.

So, I'm having the opposite problem with my Tito Santana. If you put his Elite head on a Retro, he looks like a giraffe. I had that issue with the Raven retro I made. An old WCW Raven head on a Samoa Joe retro body. He looked like a giraffe so I had to drill out the bottom of the head until it was opened up enough to slide down the neck portion fat enough to not look so silly. It turned out pretty good though, you have to glue the head so it doesn’t swivel after I saw that. It looked good, but there are 2 things I'd do different. Use a Dremmel tool to shorten the neck at the bottom of the Raven head, and make a deeper hole inside the head. I also wouldn't have used the Samoa Joe body. I wouldve gone Cena, or Austin. I say Austin because I could still accomplish a but of a 3D effect with the jean shorts by applying grey primer, then 8-10 coats of blue acrylic. Allow to dry fully before each coat to avoid peeling old layer and promoting a smoother surface. You'll see it slightly raise up. I'll show you with my RVD tonight. Nevertheless, great job. I like bouncing ideas off each others heads. I went old school Rob Conway for my Planet Stasiak because of someone's tip to do so, and it's an awesome figure. Feel free to ask for tips. Keep up the great work! Edit: Check out my next post. Looking at it, I realized that Ambrose/Lesnar mashup would make for a great Raven template I think.

That Hurricane looks awesome. It always bugs me when I’m trying to do one and it ends up looking like it has no neck after doing the head swap So, I'm having the opposite problem with my Tito Santana. If you put his Elite head on a Retro, he looks like a giraffe.

The Retros feel different to the Hasbros, but I’m rather neutral on it TBH - I never felt they were too inferior in that respect, I was more looking at missing attire details (e.g. Kane’s belt, Macho Man’s name on the back of his green trunks, etc), missing singlet details, legs being too far apart to look natural or things like that. My only concern with the material was that the skin-tone didn’t look as deep as the Hasbros did, but that might be more down to Mattel’s choice of base colour for certain skin-tones, I don’t know. But I accepted the softness of the heads without any difficulty - maybe I was just so emotional getting my childhood figures back that I didn’t care 😆 Making the figures customiser-friendly seems a good move (deliberate or not) - it seems like a lot of buyers have been picking-up extras for that reason (though we obviously don’t have the data to see how big this segment of the market truly is; probably not very big but still), so I’d think it’s worth pursuing. The changeable heads and hands of the main line might have a similar benefit in terms of attracting customisers, but of course Elites are twice the price of most Retros at retail before reaching the discounters. It’s for the customiser reason as well that I think the Retros might do rather well under a Matty Collector-type arrangement - I know I would order at least four of each guy (one to have MOC, one loose, one to maybe sell down the road, and one extra in case something happens), but if I went back to customising like I had been considering then that number would likely increase further. Depending on price that could be the same for quite a few folks. Man, I've spent more on the line doing customs than I did collecting them to have loose and MOC tenfold. That's why I'm bummed that most of these figures are seeing such a price hike. I've kind of determined which customs I'd like to do the most and buy the Retros I need now before they go into the JYD-stratosphere. This is my customs corner. The art of creating is exciting to me. The figures on top are just completed or near completion. ![](https://i.imgur.com/a79024v.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/t3xJiUs.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/m2kFKYr.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/xURQOvR.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/7aIFJsA.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/ngr956F.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/vrzBvDq.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/fMtH9SD.jpg)

I've found the reply from Steve when asked about the Retro heads: All Retros had new stylized head sculpts. None were shared with Elites or Basics but a few were based off of the older sculpts as a starting point. JYD as an example was based on the Elite sculpt but in my opinion wasn’t pushed far enough to be overly different. Shawn was based on an old ponytail sculpt but was pushed way too far and lost a bit of his likeness in my opinion. A bit? Lol

Finn Balor is fast becoming an action figure "Local Man" along with Nakamura, Rollins and Styles.

Oh man, I wish. Those are long gone. They stocked a gaggle of them up until the end of the year. After Christmas was over, they let them run out and havent been back since. The year before, i hit the jackpot and have five MOC nWo Savage's. They're going for decent coin nowadays. If those NWO savages are the arms down version I'd be very interested in buying one if you will sell. I could check for you this week when I have a chance to excavate and find the tote theyre in.

I have a signed Hulk mailaway with COA. I'm thinking about selling it unfortunately, but not for selfish reasons. Supporting family type of thing. What would you ask for it if you were me? any pics? ![](https://i.imgur.com/1BzYN3S.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/xz2t1Fh.jpg) He smudge a bit of his marker on the bag. That isnt on his bandana.

Yep. Happened to me a couple of times. I think there are a small group like that in the action figure genre. They bid incredibly high, not actually intending to pay the high end, but not wanting anyone else to beat them. They may think it wont go to that price, but when it does, they crap their pants and get out of it by whatever means. Makes no sense.

So, I ask the question again...should I open my MOC's to use for customs? I'm really considering it. Maybe not Flair, JYD or Roman though lol.

I know these are Hasbro's, but both lines have recently skyrocketed in secondary market cost. This is what I'm talking about.. ![](https://i.imgur.com/EhKFmB2.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/XOzxlM7.jpg) First of all, if you are able to sell at these prices, then awesome for you. I believe in a free and open market where you could increase your wealth any legal way possible. But I'm directing this to the ones purchasing...if you buy at the inflated cost, it now justifies it as the new trending value. If you want greater value for what you're buying, then refuse to pay the prices and they will slowly inch back down.

No reason that they shouldn't come back given this current interest and demand. C'mon Mattel - get your sh#t together and recognise what the fans actually want! (Mattel reads thread, later announced WWE-TMNT crossovers)

I had gotten a few extra Diesel retros (before they apparently went as rare as Ludvig Borga hasbros). I used one for Rowan and one for Gallows. Both Rowan and Strowman are billed as 6’8”. But the non-Retro Mattel heads are a little smaller than the Retro heads. It seems like all but Series 3,7, and 8 are very limited on Ebay. Is it true that the reason we never really saw series like 2, 6, 9 or 10 in our stores is because they weren't in anyone else's either? I'd love to see the total cases manufactured of each series. It would be predictable but fascinating.

I’m looking for an opinion. I’m looking to do an Eric Rowan retro. What body would work better for him? I’ve got a spare Dean Ambrose, but I’m thinking maybe a Brain Strowman body would work well for Rowan. Just figured I’d check before ordering another Braun Hmm...maybe a Bray Wyatt? I'd keep his size a hair below Braun's.

Are these still showing up at 5 Below or anywhere? It always irritated me when others were finding the later sets my store got Zack Ryder & Strowman. The year before my store got Series 3 when others were finding the later sets. Oh man, I wish. Those are long gone. They stocked a gaggle of them up until the end of the year.
