Week 31:August 1st - 7th
WWF RAW 8/1/1994 1. Chris Benoit defeated Steve Grossman in 2:30 following a diving headbutt. 2. Crush defeated Barry Horowitz in 1:54 following the Kona Vice. After the match, John Bradshaw ran down but Crush bailed to the floor and officials held Bradshaw in the ring. 3. Kings Court w/Doink the Clown: Lawler brags about last week and how he drove Bam-Bam Bigelow head first into the canvas with a piledriver and believes that Bigelow’s flames have been extinguished! Speaking of extinguished, Lawler brings up Bob Holly and his crash a couple of weeks ago. Lawler talks about how Holly had bad bruising and thought his career has been ended all thanks to his guest, Doink the Clown! Doink comes down and taunts the fans before entering the ring to greet Lawler. Doink thinks the announcement tonight is that Holly is going to be retired and wants Doink to feel bad, but instead he will be the happiest clown because he caused the ultimate pain! We see on the big screen that Bob Holly has appeared and gets Doink’s attention. Holly tells Doink that he is one evil clown and that his life will never be the same. He knows that everyone thinks he is here to announce that he can no longer compete, but instead, he is here to say that he will be cleared to wrestle for SUMMERSLAM! Doink is shocked as Holly challenges Doink to a match, which is accepted. Doink talks about wanting to end Bob’s career in the ring anyway, and as he is talking Bob Holly appears through the crowd and dropkicks Doink from behind to the floor. Lawler cuts Bob off but here comes Bam-Bam Bigelow to slide into the ring and attacks Lawler! Bigelow tosses Lawler over the top to the floor and stands tall in the ring with Holly while the heels are pissed on the floor! 4. The Kamikaze Kid defeated Damien Wolf in 3:47 following a top rope moonsault. During the match, Jimmy Del Ray cut a promo with Jim Cornette claiming to have a better moonsault than the Kamikaze Kid and challenging Kid to a singles match to prove it. 5. Lex Luger defeated Frank Thomas in 2:11 with the Torture Rack. After the match, Bret Hart came down and briefly attacked Luger until Lex was able to escape to the floor and ran backstage. 6. Ted DiBiase/Diane Smith Interview: We hear from DiBiase and Smith via a pre-tape and they inform us that their wedding will be taking place on the 8/15 RAW so they can have a nice honeymoon before DiBiase steps into the ring with Davey Boy and ends him. DiBiase hopes that Smith will be there to witness the formation of Mr. and Mrs. DiBiase! They kiss each other to end the segment. 7. King Yokozuna defeated Scott Taylor & Paul Johnson in 2:09 following a Bonzai Drop to both men. After the match, the lights went out with the WWF World Champion the Undertaker and Paul Bearer appearing in the ring causing King Yokozuna to quickly leave the ring. Taker gets down on one knee to pose. 8. Razor Ramon defeated Chris Snow in 2:44 following the Razors Edge. 9. Hulk Hogan Interview: Jim Ross conducted an interview with Hogan earlier in the day. Hogan talks about how for several months he has been bugged by losing to Flair at WrestleMania, even if Flair needed the help of illegal objects. “I don’t care brother, I have no excuses. Hulkamania is stronger than that.” He hypes up the tag match coming up at SummerSlam and says that along with Savage, they will take care of the Dynasty and unmasked the masked man once and for all! 10. The Smoking Gunns won a battle royal to earn a WWF World Tag Team Championship match at SummerSlam when Bart Gunn last eliminated Samu. 11. Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Jim Neidhart in 2:29 following a diving headbutt. 12. Bret Hart Interview: Hart makes his way down to the announcers table and demands that he and Luger meet at SummerSlam. For the past year, Hart had been battling both personal issues and professional issues when he lost the WWF World Championship to Lex Luger last year at SummerSlam. Thus, Hart wants Luger at SummerSlam and work his way back to the WWF World Championship! “Accept the challenge you coward.” 13. Week 30: July 25th - July 31st
WWF RAW 7/25/1994 1. Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Frank Hudson in 2:44 following a Pedigree. During the match, Ron Simmons cut a promo talking about their upcoming match next week on RAW. Simmons notes that he is going to teach respect to HHH by giving him a beating he will not soon forget. 2. Men on a Mission defeated Duane Gill & Barry Horowitz in 3:10 when Mabel pinned Gill following a big splash. During the match, Michaels & Diesel cut a promo regarding a battle royal happening next week that will see a team win and challenge them for the gold at SummerSlam. They aren’t concerned about any of the teams. 3. Kings Court w/ Mr. Perfect: Lawler quickly talks about a big tag match taking place tonight where he will be teaming with Lex Luger to take on Bret Hart and Bam-Bam Bigelow. Lawler doesn’t believe that Hart and Bigelow will be able to team together and that they will crumble tonight. King turns his attention to last night how the world was shocked that Mr. Perfect was still alive after the beating he got in March. With that, Lawler introduces Perfect to the crowd, who welcome Perfect with a warm reception. Perfect enters the ring and Lawler asks why he would align himself with Hogan and Savage. Perfect laughs and reminds Lawler of his hatred for Ric Flair and their brutal feud that happened last year when Perfect beat Flair in a steel cage. Lawler believes that Perfect reached his peak and will never reach the mountain top. Perfect gets serious and tells King that he got close to the WWF World Championship and came up short, but he won’t stop. But first, he wants to get revenge on Scott Norton and everyone in the Dynasty for Perfect being out of action for the past three months. Perfect wants Norton at SummerSlam and hopes Norton has the courage to meet him one on one with no Dynasty members. 4. Owen Hart defeated Seth Benjamin in 2:14 with a missile dropkick. 5. IRS defeated Gabriel Johnson in 2:45 following a lariat. 6. John Bradshaw Interview: Jim Ross interviewed John Bradshaw about his altercation with Crush last week on RAW. Bradshaw tells Ross that he hates cowards and last week Jerry Lawler, Rick Martel and Crush all proved to be cowards. Bradshaw notes that Crush is a big guy and Bradshaw loves to fight. Bradshaw isn’t going to attack Crush from behind, but rather come right after him face to face. They’ll meet in the ring soon enough and it won’t be a pretty one. 7. Doink the Clown defeated Victor Payne in 2:09 following the Whoopee Cushion. After the match, Bob Holly appeared on the big screen and said that next week he has a major announcement that Doink will want to be around to hear. 8. The Smoking Gunns defeated Steve Matthews & Tim York in 3:13 when Billy pinned Matthews. 9. Ric Flair Interview: Jim Ross introduces Ric Flair and the Masked Man to come down for interview time. Ross talks about last night and how the Dynasty failed to beat Hogan and Savage. Flair doesn’t want to hear any of it and lets Ross know that he is none too happy about it. Flair has wanted to end Hulk Hogan for a long time and while they didn’t get the job done last night, he will personally end Hogan with the Masked Man and the chance to end Randy Savage is icing on the cake. SummerSlam in Chicago will mark the end of the Mega Powers and the rise of the Dynasty! 10. Ludvig Borga defeated Marty Jannetty in 6:07 following a shoulder breaker. 11. Jeff Jarrett defeated Dave Stevenson in 3:55 following a jumping DDT. 12. British Bulldog Interview: Jim Ross sat down with an emotional British Bulldog about having Ted DiBiase propose to his ex-wife over his lifeless body last week. Bulldog says for far too long that DiBiase has tormented the Hart Family and that now he has tormented his family. Bulldog says all this pain he feels inside right now will be unleashed on DiBiase at SummerSlam and that the wedding between DiBiase and Diane will have to take place inside a hospital. Bulldog gets up and tells Ross that he has nothing more to say to him. 13. Carlos Vega defeated the Kamikaze Kid in 5:12 following a spinning heel kick. During the match, Razor Ramon promoted his match with Carlos Vega at SummerSlam. Ramon will not forget about the strap attack two weeks ago on RAW. 14. Bret Hart & Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Lex Luger & Jerry Lawler by disqualification in 7:05 when Luger hit Bret over the back with a steel chair while Lawler was in the Sharpshooter. Scott Steiner Interview: Jim Ross talked to Scott Steiner about his match with Rick Martel at SummerSlam for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Steiner knows that Martel has held onto the championship for quite a long time, but he hasn’t entered the ring to wrestle a guy like himself. All things must come to an end and the reign of Rick Martel as Intercontinental Champion will be coming to an end at SummerSlam! 3. Razor Ramon defeated Barry Hardy in 2:06 following the Razors Edge. 4. The Headshrinkers defeated Adam Jones & David Wright in 2:33 when Fatu pinned Wright. 5. Doink the Clown Interview: Jim Ross conducted an interview with Doink about the major announcement from Bob Holly this coming Monday on RAW. Doink thinks he knows what it is and that it’s going to be Holly revealing to the world that he has to retire from wrestling and he can’t drive his little racecar anymore, which is exactly what Doink wanted! Doink can’t wait to hear Holly say it on Monday because everyone’s pain brings him happiness! 6. John Bradshaw defeated Curtis Young in 3:25 following a running clothesline. 7. Considering Raven was developed by Heyman and in ECW in early 1995, introducing the character in the WWF at this time makes no sense. It looks like you really enjoy the character and have a desire for a Taker/Raven feud, but this is too soon and lazy booking. Should have written Polo off television for a year and redebut him in June '95, which would have been a lot better.

World Wrestling Federation In Your House #2 Date: 7/24/1994 From: Nashville, TN Attendance: 6,500 Announcers: Jim Ross & Bobby Heenan
Jim Ross and Bobby Heenan welcome everyone to the second In Your House pay per view! Ross hypes up the event mentioning the double main event. Lex Luger gets in the ring against Bam-Bam Bigelow, while the Mega Powers square off against Dynasty members Scott Norton and Jeff Jarrett. Heenan laughs because tonight the Mega Powers will be taken out and the huge tag match scheduled for SummerSlam won’t even happen. Heenan puts over the strength of Norton and the smarts of Jarrett as the reasons why the Dynasty will prevail tonight. Ross disagrees with Heenan, who responds asking “What do you know, Ross?” Ross sends it over to the ring to start the show!
Opening Contest: Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Marty Jannetty: Marty had the early control with a series of arm drags and dropkicks. Hunter cut his offense off with a high knee lift and a back breaker. Marty managed to counter a back drop attempt by driving Hunter face first into the canvas and hit a top rope cross body for a near fall. Hunter pulled Marty by the trunks to send him face first into the middle turnbuckle. Hunter comes off the ropes to hit a running neck breaker for a near fall. Marty went to the top rope but is cut off by Bob Backlund, who allowed Hunter to hit a superplex. Ron Simmons came out to chase Backlund off but Hunter put Marty away with the Pedigree to win the match. (Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Marty Jannetty, 7:15, **1/2) After the match, Hunter bails from the ring as Simmons slides in to check on Marty.
Backstage, Todd Pettengill tries to talk to the Headshrinkers. Instead, Samu and Fatu slap each other on the chests while Sionne motivates them to win the championships next!
Second Contest: WWF World Tag Team Champions Shawn Michaels & Diesel vs. the Headshrinkers: Early on, Michaels is worked over by Samu in the corner and dominated for the most part. Samu splashes Michaels in the corner, but misses a middle rope diving head butt. That allowed Michaels to get the advantage with a back suplex and a twisting cross body for a near fall. Michaels taunts the fans and when he turns around to be met with a super kick. Samu tags in Fatu who scoop slams Michaels and delivers a falling head butt for a two count. Fatu ends up missing a running back splash in the corner and Shawn is able to tag in Diesel. Diesel works over Fatu with forearm shots and elbow strikes in the corner. Diesel brings Fatu out of the corner with a big side slam but can’t get a three on the cover attempt. Fatu counters a back drop attempt by driving Diesel face first into the canvas, but upon leaping off the top rope is met with a big boot to the face. Diesel knocks Samu off the apron and hits a power bomb on Fatu to retain the titles. (Diesel & Shawn Michaels defeated the Headshrinkers, 10:33, **1/4)
Backstage, Todd Pettengill is with Tamara and WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel. Tamara tries to play it off that Scott Steiner made advances towards her, but as seen on RAW a couple of weeks ago, Martel sent her into the room. Martel thinks Steiner is an idiot for insulting such a beautiful woman and tonight a real king is going to take Steiner out. Martel showoffs his championship and says that is as close as Steiner will ever get to it.
Third Contest: Scott Steiner vs. Jerry Lawler: Lawler wasted no time in attacking Steiner as he was standing on the middle rope playing to the crowd. King hammers away on Steiner until his punch is blocked and Steiner hits a belly to belly suplex. That causes Lawler to beg off in the corner, but Steiner isn’t interested in hearing it. Steiner continues his offense with a clothesline and a side slam for a near fall. Lawler is able to cut Scott off with a jaw breaker and hits a neck breaker before choking Steiner on the canvas. Lawler nearly wins after hitting a middle rope fist drop, but Steiner pop his shoulder up at the count of two. Steiner counters a backdrop attempt with a double under hook power bomb and riles up the fans when he notices Tamara coming down the entrance way. Steiner is distracted when WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel runs in with championship in hand. Steiner turns around and backdrops a charging Martel over the top to the floor. Moments later, Scott fights Lawler off and hits the Frankensteiner to win the match! (Scott Steiner defeated Jerry Lawler, 7:45, **) After the match, Steiner gets on the middle rope and taunts Martel by signaling that the WWF Intercontinental Championship will be coming around his waist!
Backstage, Todd Pettengill is with Bam-Bam Bigelow to talk about his upcoming match with Lex Luger. Bigelow doesn’t care that the fans have started to cheer him. He hasn’t changed who he is and he isn’t going to. He doesn’t like Lex Luger and is sick of Luger believing that he is the best wrestler going. Lex cost Bigelow the WWF World Championship a couple of months ago and tonight Luger will feel his fiery fury!
Fourth Contest: Lex Luger vs. Bam-Bam Bigelow: Luger tries to stall on the floor, but Bigelow grabs a hold of Luger and sends him into the guard railing and ring steps shoulder first before bringing the action to the ring. Bigelow hit a few falling head butts for a near fall. Luger begged off in the corner but fights back with a series of strikes and drops Bigelow with a running clothesline. Luger nearly wins the match after a power slam as Bigelow was coming off the ropes. Lex heads to the top rope but is cut off by Bigelow. Bam-Bam hooks Luger up and drives Lex down to the mat with a superplex! Late in the match, Bigelow hit a diving head butt off the top, but Luger managed to get his boot on the bottom rope. Bam-Bam argues with the referee and turns around to be met with a running forearm shot, the same forearm that Luger has screws in. Luger quickly covers Bigelow and wins the match. (Lex Luger defeated Bam-Bam Bigelow, 11:39, **) After the match, Luger leaves the ring pointing to his head taunting Bigelow saying he is smarter than Bigelow.
A video promoting SummerSlam ’94 from the United Center in Chicago, IL airs. The video promotes the WWF World Championship match between the Undertaker and King Yokozuna and the tag team match where the Mega Powers will collide against Dynasty members Ric Flair and the masked man!
Main Event: Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Jeff Jarrett & Scott Norton: Savage and Norton kick off the tag match with Norton absorbing several blows by Savage only to cut him off with a huge spine buster to gain control. Scott drives his knees into Randy’s lower back and continued his powerful display of offense with a back breaker. Norton backed Savage into his corner and delivered a series of knee lifts before tagging in Jarrett, who was more than happy to take a series of cheap shots on a weaken Savage. Jarrett gets a near fall after a swinging neck breaker. Jarrett misses a middle rope first drop and Savage fights back with a back suplex and a vertical suplex. Hogan is asking for a tag and he gets it form Macho Man! Hogan enters and hammers away on Jarrett before hitting a scoop slam. Norton enters and clotheslines Hogan from behind, but is dropkicked to the floor by Savage, who continues to brawl with Norton. Flair tosses brass knuckles into the ring for Jarrett, but Hogan blocks the right hand and throws the knuckles down the entrance ramp. Hogan with right hands on Jarrett before delivering a big boot and a leg drop. On the pin, Hogan stares down a pissed off Flair, who after the count of three, enters the ring and attacks Hogan with right hands and chops. Norton has sent Savage into the ring post and enters to attack Hogan as well. Norton, Flair, the masked man and Jarrett are all having their way with Hogan. Flair has the figure four on Hogan as Norton delivers a big splash from the middle rope. Suddenly, the fans rise to their feet as MR. PERFECT runs down to the ring with a chair in hand and cleans house. Perfect hits all four men over the back with the chair and Savage rolls back into the ring to check on Hogan. Perfect is fired up while the Dynasty are on the floor stunned to see Perfect back in the WWF! (Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage defeated Jeff Jarrett & Scott Norton, 14:26, ***)

On the 2/1 RAW, a segment took place involving Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair to book a singles match with the Mania IX title match on the line at the 2/20 SNME
BC: Our issue was having a strong WrestleMania main event. The Rumble needed a shock factor that having Perfect win, provided that shock. There was never any real intention to have a Mr. Perfect/Bret Hart main event at WrestleMania IX. It would have been a great match, but it’s not a huge draw for casual fans. Following a loss to Money Inc. on the 2/8 RAW, the Nasty Boys would not get a title match against the team and voiced their displeasure about their booking backstage. BC: They thought they were going to be tag champs. But, once the Steiner Brothers came in plans changed. Brian and Jerry are good guys but it’s a case of not being a top team in the WWF. I could never see them as a team I’d build around. I’d use teams to go over them, and that bothered them. 2/20 SNME saw Shawn Michaels beat Marty Jannetty in a cage, and Ric Flair beat Mr. Perfect to become the number one contender for WrestleMania IX
BC: The idea of having Flair win two Rumbles in a row was not something I wanted to do, so we worked around that. The loss of the main event spot really bothered Perfect. I can imagine it would for anyone. I think deep down inside Perfect thought he would be able to win Vince over to keep his spot, but Vince so the money in Bret/Flair for Mania. 2/22 RAW saw the beginning of a Tatanka/Shawn Michaels feud. Tatanka had just gotten done with a feud over his head dress being burned by the evil clown, Doink. BC: Let me just say that writing for Doink was one of my favorite things to do. A lot of kids have a fear of clowns and we worked with that mindset. But, Tatanka was a good kid. He worked hard and got himself over. We knew at some point Michaels would have to drop the IC strap and we were looking for the right guy to take that spot so Michaels could move up. SO: On the same show, you began the Steiner Brothers quest for the tag titles saying they had to beat five tag teams before getting the title shot. Do you think that may have hurt the creditability of future challengers? BC: Pat Patterson wasn’t a believer in Scott and Rick. Which was just insane to me. He felt like the fans would buy into them if they were to beat every single team leading up to the Money Inc. match. You’re right, though, doing that would hurt the Steiner’s eventual reign.

I dunno if that would work Bob. A diary is quite a personal thing, if anyone was going to write up a shoot of their diary it would be the writer. especially if your going to come up with behind the scene stories and such, surely that would have an effect on how other people read the diary. Of course I might be wrong, some people may be down for it. But personally I like to keep my stuff to myself. And if I was to do a shoot (which I have tinkered with in SNW) then I'd keep it in the same thread as the diary for a sense of completion. But yeah, if anyone wants to do it go ahead, I just doubt the want of others wanting to do it. I'm confused. I wouldn't be coming up with their stuff. I'd highlight a feud or something, and they would comment on their rationale and if they would want to come up with some backstage nonsense, that would be entirely up to them.

I had an idea the other day, and that idea will be posted within the next few days... maybe earlier. I hope people will be inclined to partake in it, as I think it would rather fun. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, WWF 1994 is going swimmingly. Got to figure out when I'm pulling off my summer surprise, but I think everyone will like it... hopefully. How'd you mean partake in? In what way, writing kayfabe stories for their own diaries? Spotlight Voting is up.Partake in the sense of, I'd take a look at a person's diary at a month of a time and do a shoot. They would possibly come up with behind the scene stories and whatnot.

Inside the Mind of the BookerSO: Hello everyone, I’m Sean Oliver, and welcome to another Kayfabe Commentaries special WWF Timeline: 1993. The first installment is with former WWF booker, Bob Colling. We’ll take a look at each year he booked for the company starting with his first year, 1993. Thanks for joining us, Bob. BC: Thanks, Sean. It’s a pleasure to be part of this series and I look forward to sharing stories with you and the Kayfabe fans. January 4th, 1993 – RAW replaces Primetime Wrestling as the main show for the WWF. The show takes place at the Manhattan Center in New York. BC: I joined the company in the last week of ’92 and noticed the rumblings about a new show coming around. I had grown up on Primetime, but that type of show had run its course. The WWF needed a face lift and come across younger. I thought the company did a good job of doing that with RAW. Plus, having a rather cheap building filled with a mostly rowdy fanbase helped. January 11th, 1993: WWF World Champion Bret Hart accepts Randy Savage’s challenge for the Royal RumbleBC: Our mindset leading into the event was we didn’t want to sacrifice a young heel to Bret early. There was talk of using Bigelow or Ramon, but they needed to be built up some more. It took me a little while to convince Vince that Savage still had legs in the main event scene and a match with Bret would be great. As it turned out, it was one of the best matches of the year for us. January 24th, 1993: The Royal Rumble takes place. Bam-Bam Bigelow and Yokozuna win their respective matches. Bret retains the title over Savage. Mr. Perfect wins the Royal Rumble, to the surprise of many.
BC: I’ve always enjoyed Perfect’s work. I felt he never got that main event push that he should have gotten. Originally, Vince wanted Flair to win for a second straight year, but that wouldn’t have been interesting. The Rumble needs to make a new top guy. Help create a new main event guy. With a win, I felt like Perfect was seen in that light. As we will get to, McMahon never really got behind him, at that time. FOX and the WWF agreed to bring back the Saturday Night Main Event series in late January to start on February 20th.
BC: I liked it. We only ran the Rumble, Mania, King of the Ring, SummerSlam and Survivor Series back then. So, having a television super card to be a place holder for the big events was fine with me. Following the Rumble, Berzerker, Damien Demento, Bob Backlund and the Genius were released.
BC: They just didn’t fit in with the direction we were going in. Besides, Demento was and still is a lunatic. Lex Luger joins the company as the Narcissist at the Royal Rumble.
BC: There is no mistake that Luger isn’t exactly the best in the ring, but he is marketable and his size is ideal. The Narcissist gimmick was perfect or Luger and he really made it work well. Getting him from WCW was great for us as we needed more heels for Bret. I knew that we’d eventually have an angle with Luger/Bret for the strap. Luger is just easy to hate. Jack Tunney announces that Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty will wrestle in a steel cage at the 2/20 SNME for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
BC: Vince never trusted Marty. That goes back to Marty falling off the wagon in ’92 when they should have had their blow off at Mania VIII. Do I think the boat had sailed by ’93? Probably. But, we tried to make it work as best we could. I wanted to finish that chapter and move on. It’s a shame, because Marty was a great talent and is really underrated in my mind. We just couldn’t depend on him to be there if we needed him. That’s what cost him. SO: Also at this time a feud between Razor Ramon and Randy Savage developed. How did that come about? BC: Randy suggested it because he saw a lot in Razor and no one put up a fight. Savage knew that we were looking to get Ramon to the top along with Bigelow. Razor didn’t have an ego at the time and was learning about the business, really. Savage was hands on with the feud and was open to suggestions. Chris Benoit has a try-out match on 1/29 at Madison Square Garden.
BC: Bret was pitching heavily for Benoit to get a shot with the company. I remember checking some of his stuff out from Japan and Owen was really fond of their match they had that night. We didn’t get him right then and there, but Bret kept pushing and obviously he joined later in the year. To be continued.. I’ll probably do this month by month, just so it’s not overloaded with material. If you’d like to partake in this idea, let me know.

Week 28: July 11th - July 17th
WWF RAW 7/11/1994 1. John Bradshaw defeated Barry Horowitz in 1:34 following a running clothesline. This is the debut of John Bradshaw in the WWF. The crowd was behind him in a positive way. 2. Scott Norton defeated Greg Harvin in 2:39 following a shoulder breaker. After the match, Norton issued a challenge to Randy Savage for this Saturday’s MSG event airing on the MSG Network. 3. Bret Hart Interview: Vince McMahon conducted an interview with Bret Hart. McMahon wants to know why Hart came out and made the save for Bigelow last week. Hart smirks and tells Vince that he doesn’t like Bigelow but he respects the guy. He recalls their battles last year and how Bret had to reach down deep to defeat the beast from the east. Bret says he doesn’t respect nor like Luger or Lawler. So, when he saw Bigelow doing something right, he joined forces with Bigelow. Bret notes that he is on a mission to get redemption and he wants Lex Luger. “I’m going to get my redemption and make Luger tap out in the middle of the ring.” 4. The Quebecers defeated Mike Davis & Danny Williams in 3:55 when Pierre pinned Davis. 5. Marty Jannetty defeated Timothy Ferguson in 2:15 following the Rocker Dropper. 6. Sparky Plugg Update: Jim Ross tells us that he has watched the footage and it reveals who caused the accident that put Plugg in the hospital. The footage is clearer and in color this week. This week, we see Plugg in the pit getting work done on his car. The video focuses on a man going under the car. The man comes sliding back from under the car and when he stands up the camera zoom ins on his face… which is covered in clown paint. “That’s correct ladies and gentleman, that’s Doink the Clown. This evil clown has put Plugg’s career in jeopardy. We’ll try to get a word from him later on in the show.” 7. Owen Hart defeated Corey Smith in 2:43 following a missile dropkick. 8. Kings Court w/ Jerry Lawler: Jerry Lawler is the guest on his own show and cuts promo on Bigelow, Bret Hart and Scott Steiner. Lawler use to like Bigelow but now he has changed into a guy fighting for the good. When someone associates themselves with a guy like Bret Hart, it makes Lawler sick. This Saturday at MSG he will be wrestling Bam-Bam Bigelow and Lawler is going to make Bigelow regret his new attitude. On July 24th at the next In Your House, Lawler is going to show Scott Steiner that he will never be a champion and he will never be a person of royalty like himself. 9. Crush defeated the Kamikaze Kid in 4:55 with the Kona Vice. 10. Sionne defeated Steve Matthews in 2:26 following a middle rope shoulder block. 11. Doink the Clown Interview: Jim Ross calls out Doink the Clown to conduct an interview and Doink makes his way down to the ring with something in his hand. Ross asks Doink what he is holding. “(chuckle) Well, Ross what I hold here is the reason why Sparky Plugg spun out and crashed into the wall. My greatest prank of all-time. These right here are the brakes in which I snipped and I hold them up with pride!” Ross is sick and asks why Doink did it. Doink responds by telling Ross that he was sick of Plugg putting smiles on fans faces. He wants tears and sadness and he has been getting that with fans writing into the WWF for Plugg to get better. Doink assures us that Plugg’s career is over! 12. WWF World Tag Team Champions Shawn Michaels & Diesel defeated Men on a Mission in 9:07 when Diesel pinned Mo after a powerbomb. 13. Scott Steiner defeated Lance Harrison in 2:11 following the Frankensteiner. 14. Razor Ramon defeated King Yokozuna by count-out in 8:14 when the Undertaker came down to the ring and Yokozuna confronted Taker on the floor leading to officials coming out to keep the two apart. Carlos Vega came out through the crowd to attack Ramon with a strap and whipped Ramon several times before choking Ramon with the strap. Vega taunted the fans and Ramon with the strap.
WWF Superstars 7/16/1994 1. The British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart defeated The Quebecers in 9:04 when Bulldog pinned Pierre after a running powerslam. After the match, Bulldog and Neidhart sent the Quebecers to the floor. 2. Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Paul Schilling in 2:33 following a Pedigree. After the match, Hunter went for a second but Simmons and Jannetty ran down to run Hunter and Backlund out of the ring. 3. Ron Simmons & Marty Jannetty Interview: Jim Ross conducted an interview with Simmons and Jannetty who have been having issues with Hunter and Backlund since they returned or debuted in the company. Simmons tells us that he hasn’t beaten Hunter and he is tired of having to look at the snob. He wants to beat some sense into both of them. Ron notes that Jannetty has been insulted for being a rocker and Hunter thinks he is better than both them. Jannetty chimes in and says that they want a tag match against Hunter AND Backlund! They want the snobs to find some guts and accept their challenge! 4. Tatanka defeated Scotty Anton in 2:43 following a Samoan Drop. 5. Backstage Tamara, Rick Martel & Scott Steiner: Backstage, Rick Martel is talking to Tamara and appears to be telling her to get into a locker room and flirt with Steiner to possibly get Steiner out of his way. Tamara agrees and enters the room. Martel waits for a few moments thinking this will work. Instead, Tamara comes out crying saying that Steiner called her an ugly piece of trash. Martel acts like he is going to go into the room, but instead comforts Tamara and leaves. The door opens and Steiner appears laughing at the poor attempt by the champion. 6. Chris Benoit defeated Fred Jackson in 2:51 with the Crossface. 7. Carlos Vega defeated Bart Gunn in 6:58 following a spinning heel kick. After the match, Vega used a whip on Bart until Billy Gunn ran down for the save.
WWF Madison Square Garden Date: 7/16/1994 From: New York, NY Attendance: 18,000 Announcers: Jim Ross & Bobby Heenan Aired Only On MSG Network
Jim Ross and Bobby Heenan welcome us to Madison Square Garden for some WWF action! Ross hypes up the show which will feature Randy Savage taking on Dynasty member Scott Norton, Jerry Lawler squaring off against Jerry Lawler and in the main event WWF World Champion the Undertaker teams with Scott Steiner to take on King Yokozuna and WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel!
Opening Contest: Owen Hart vs. Chris Benoit best two out of three falls: The first fall took place about five minutes in when Benoit was able to avoid a top rope cross body and made Owen submit to the Crossface. Owen would fight back to win the second fall with a rollup out of the corner. The third and final fall saw Owen pin Benoit after a top rope missile dropkick. (Owen Hart defeated Chris Benoit, 14:08, ***1/4)
Second Contest: WWF World Tag Team Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Fatu: Early on, Fatu worked over Michaels with strikes and a good looking Samoan Drop. Michaels poked Fatu in the eyes and was able to hit a snap suplex and neck breaker. Late in the match, Fatu missed a top rope splash and that allowed Michaels to get the win with a superkick. (Shawn Michaels defeated Fatu, 7:33, **1/2)
Backstage, Jim Ross conducted an interview with Ted DiBiase. Ted cut a promo on the Kamikaze Kid and tells Ross that tonight will be an easy night for him. He is surprised Kid will even be awake since it’s past 8pm. Ted dedicates this win to Diana.
Third Contest: Ted DiBiase vs. the Kamikaze Kid: Kid surprised DiBiase with a series of kicks and rollups, but Ted was able to take control with a back breaker. Ted hit a fist drop off the middle rope and got the submission win with the Million $ Dream. (Ted DiBiase defeated the Kamikaze Kid, 4:11, *1/2)
Prior to the next match, Scott Norton comes to the ring with Ric Flair, Jeff Jarrett and the masked man. When Randy Savage comes out he waits for a moment and points to the back where Hulk Hogan appears!
Fourth Contest: Scott Norton vs. Randy Savage: A quick start to the match saw Savage hammer away on Norton and try to knock the big man down, but Norton powerslammed Savage to gain control of the contest. The Dynasty members are ordering Norton what to do while Hogan tries to get the crowd behind Randy. Savage breaks out of a bear hug to hit a running clothesline and a top rope double ac handle. Savage looks to go for the elbow, but the Dynasty enters the ring and Hogan enters with a chair as backup to whack Jarrett and the masked man over the back as the referee calls for the bell. (Randy Savage fought Scott Norton to a no contest, 8:22, **1/4). After the match, Hogan chases Flair and Norton out of the ring and poses with Savage.
Fifth Contest: Bam-Bam Bigelow vs. Jerry Lawler: The crowd explodes as Bigelow destroys Lawler in the corner with right hands and two big splashes in the corner. Bigelow doesn’t even allow Lawler to take off his cape as he slams the King down to the canvas and hits a diving head butt off the top rope to win the match rather quickly. (Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Jerry Lawler, 1:40, *) After the match, Bigelow tosses Lawler to the floor and pounds on his chest as the fans chant for Bam-Bam.
Sixth Contest: Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Marty Jannetty: Marty got some quick offense in with arm drags and a dropkick. Hunter is staggering when Jannetty hits a head scissors. Jannetty comes off the ropes but is met with a high knee from Hunter. Hunter took control for several moments which saw him hit a gut wrench suplex and a gut buster. Shortly afterward, Hunter hit the Pedigree to win the match. (Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Marty Jannetty, 7:29, **3/4)
Main Event: WWF World Champion the Undertaker & Scott Steiner vs. King Yokozuna & WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel: Martel and Taker started the bout with Taker pummeling Martel in the corner and looking Yoko on the apron, which scared Yoko. Martel sent into the ropes and Taker hit a leaping clothesline. Steiner got tagged in and worked over Martel with an overhead belly to belly suplex and a tilt a whirl side slam. Martel stopped Steiner with a jaw breaker and tagged in Yoko who hit a belly to belly suplex and followed up with a leg drop for a near fall. Steiner avoided a running back splash in the corner and tagged in Taker. Taker gets his hands on Yoko with right hands and goes for a chokeslam, but Martel enters and breaks that up. Steiner and Martel fall over the top to the floor. Taker gets up but Yoko has the salt bucket from Mr. Fuji and whacks Taker over the head to cause the disqualification. Yoko drags Taker to the corner and hits the Bonzai Drop! Yoko and Fuji get the WWF World Championship and nail Steiner in the head with it as he ran into the ring. Yoko, Martel, Fuji and Tamara all stand tall in the ring holding the gold. (Undertaker & Scott Steiner defeated King Yokozuna & Rick Martel by disqualification, 13:00, ***)
WWF Wrestling Challenge 7/17/1994 1. Jeff Jarrett defeated Chris Kanyon in 3:05 following a jumping DDT. 2. the Headshrinkers defeated Bruiser Bob & AJ Fatal in 2:44 when Fatu pinned Bob after a top rope big splash. 3. Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Bill Dwyer in 2:44 following a diving headbutt. 4. Randy Savage defeated Jimmy Del Ray in 5:44 following a top rope elbow drop.

The Smoking Gunns defeated Dave Stewart & Greg Simpson in 2:45 when Billy pinned Stewart. 3. Sparky Plugg Update: The video this week shows a man sneaking up to Plugg's car while it was in the pit getting worked on. Upon zooming in on the man, it is seen that he has a pair of cutters with him and is seen clipping away on the car while everyone scrambles to work on the car. Luger notes that the past several weeks saw him have to regroup and while the Undertaker got the better of him at KOTR, Luger says his day will come and in the meantime people have to respect him and his body of perfection because he will be WWF World Champion once again. Lawler mentions both Bigelow and Bret Hart waiting for Luger. Lex starts off with Bigelow first. Luger says that he accidentally cost Bigelow his title match with Taker a couple of months ago and suggests bigelow get over it before he regrets getting in the ring with him. As for Bret Hart, there will be no chance for redemption because Luger isn't interested in wrestling someone he defeated so easily. “Bret, you're going to forever have to live with the fact that I'm truly the best there was and there ever will be.” Bigelow makes his way down to the ring and mentions how he will not regret getting in the ring with Luger and proceeds to deck Luger! A brawl takes place until Lawler helps Luger in attacking Bigelow. Bret Hart runs down out of nowhere and helps Bigelow fight both men out of the ring! There is a moment of tension between Bret and Bigelow as they just worked together to end the segment. 9. Marty Jannetty defeated Lance Harris in 2:45 following the Rocker Dropper. Hogan can't wait for SummerSlam next month and says that the years of frustration and the revenge for WrestleMania X is building up inside of him. Having his best friend, Randy Savage, with him will make it even more rewarding to beat Flair and the masked man. Hulk notes that when they win the match they are going to unmask the masked man and find out who the man really is! Hulk has a challenge for the Dynasty for this coming up IYH. Hogan wants to have a piece of Jeff Jarrett and Scott Norton in what would be their tune up match for SummerSlam. “If you want to make a name for yourself in this business, you're going to have to come through the Mega Powers, brother!” 12. DiBiase knows that Bulldog has a match up next and says that no matter what the Bulldog does, there isn’t anything he can do to get Diane back. She is with the million dollar man, getting whatever she wants and being treated as his queen. DiBiase teases that bigger things are in his mind and believes Bulldog will not make it to SummerSlam mentally. 7. The British Bulldog defeated Quebecer Jacques in 6:19 following a running powerslam. After the match. Ted DiBiase appeared on the aisleway with Dianaand proceeded to kiss her.
