Honestly, every NXT Takeover card is usually excellent, but this one is exceptional! Super excited for Gargano/Ricochet, Ciampa/Black, War Raiders/Undisputed Era. Belair/Baszler sounds like it could be interesting, even though I'm still waiting to be impressed by Baszler. Not too fussed about Riddle/Ohno.

As long as they bring back the entrance option for showcase. NOOOOO idea why they removed the entrances from the game for those matches. It kinda pulls me out. It's not an immersion-breaking experience for me, but I definitely would have appreciated the option to keep entrances on for Showcase mode.

I personally wholeheartedly agree with her statement. She's an incredibly exciting performer, she has a true passion and love for the industry, and she knows exactly who her character is. It's just that creative haven't bothered to do anything consistently meaningful with her since 2016.
Every single interview she does is 100% in character. She may appear exceedingly arrogant to the point of delusion to some (clearly from reading this thread), but that's just her playing her character, ramping up her personality 1000%. On the rare occasions that she does talk out of character on camera, it's obvious that when out of character she's much more down to earth. Obviously when playing a character, you have to appear confident and think you're the best. How seriously could you take a character that said "oh yeah, well I guess I'm okay"?

I think he answered that in the documentary without definitively answering it. I got the impression that he would be able now if he really wanted to, but it sounded like he is content to partake without having to take any more bumps, even if he does miss being in the ring to some degree.

I can't see any chance of Finn walking out Universal Champion. It's not anything to do with Finn himself. I don't think size matters at all in pro wrestling. But it's the fact that he's facing Brock Lesnar. WWE just LOVE having Lesnar as their champion. He's only been in his current reign for a couple of months or so now. Give it another year before WWE will even consider having him drop the title. They'll just have him devalue the title more than he already has done for another year.

That was a different RAW. I'm back to watching YouTube clips rather than the full show, but it definitely had a unique feeling to it. I'm glad that WWE are seriously about making their product seem fresh.
- It's great to see Braun tip over heavy objects. I wonder if taking Braun out of the match against Lesnar is because he's still not cleared, or so he can intimidate his way back into the match to make it a Triple Threat. - I liked the interaction between Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey. Other than the Royal Rumble matches, this is my most anticipated match on the card. I hope we see the situation between the two explode next week. - Great to see Nikki Cross and Heavy Machinery debut. But they were odd debuts. For one, Nikki didn't even get the winning pinfall in her debut match. And for Otis, they had him randomly walk on stage during a segment he had nothing to do with. Not as strong debuts as I'd hoped, but enjoyable nonetheless. I fully expected Cross to go to SmackDown Live to be with SAnitY again, but on reflection, I think a move to RAW is much better. On RAW, she has the chance to carry on being a beloved singles star. If she had been put on SmackDown Live, she likely would have faded into obscurity, like SAnitY. - The Women's Tag Team titles reveal was not something I expected to happen now. On one hand, I'm disappointed that they're not waiting until WrestleMania to crown the first ever champions. On the other hand, I'm glad they've chosen an exciting match to debut them in, the Elimination Chamber. Had slightly hoped that they'd maybe include NXT in the running for the titles, but I never really believed that they would. Still, the titles look decent. At least they've got a unique design. - The segment with Vince/Cena/McIntyre/Corbin/Balor was great. Although I'm not always a fan of it, in this case I did like them bringing real life situations into it, with Balor telling Vince that he had never believed in Balor. - Although I've never been a fan of Lashley, I do admit that from what little I saw of the match, it looked like Ambrose/Rollins/Lashley (and even Rush) put in a good performance. At least Lashley isn't using a Suplex as a finisher anymore. I hope Lashley drops Rush and stops with the stupid ass pose thing. Then maybe I can care about Lashley. - I'm absolutely thrilled that Balor was chosen to go on to face Lesnar at the Royal Rumble! I remember the rumours around this time last year of Vince not believing that Balor was over enough to be a legitimate opponent for Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. Now a year later, we're gonna get that. Although obviously there's no way they'll have Lesnar drop the title, at least Balor will get the chance.
I'm confused as to why Balor faced Jinder in between the five man segment and the Fatal Four Way, yet none of the other competitors had a match. Was there a reason for that? I really don't like it when they don't upload context in their YouTube clips.
So all in all, I thought it was a good RAW. Not great, but good enough.

The Nigel Guinness documentary is really good. I'd highly recommend it, it's really well done.
I knew absolutely nothing about his wrestling career beforehand, so I feel like I learnt a lot. I also feel like I've definitely got a new appreciation for Nigel now. Although that doesn't extend to his hair style choices during his wrestling career.

I'm super excited for the Rising Stars DLC pack on the 22nd of January. Can't wait to use "the Big Dawg" Dakota Kai, Ricochet, Candice LeRae, and Lacey Evans. Don't mind having Mike and Maria Kanellis either. Lio Rush is the only one in the pack that I don't care one bit for.
For once, I'm glad to have an outdated theme. I really liked Candice LeRae's old theme, and I don't care for her newer one. I hope they don't change it before release.

Wow! For the very first NXT UK TakeOver, NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool was incredible! Fantastic wrestling, surprise appearances, new champions, and a new guy at the end with plenty of hype behind him.
The opening tag match was fantastic. I'm still a bit undecided about how I feel about the chosen winners. On one hand, I like the fact that they're building their tag team division up by not relying on Moustache Mountain alone, and Zack Gibson is obviously very good at playing a heel. But on the other hand, I don't feel that Gibson and Drake were built up well enough before Takeover: Blackpool.
Finn Balor revealed as Jordan Devlin's replacement opponent is easily one of the best surprise moments in a very long time. Although I acknowledge that they need to build Jordan Devlin up in the future, having him lose to Balor was the right move.
Dave Mastiff is really good. I see him as NXT UK's Braun Strowman, in terms of being unique enough to never need the title. He has a good look, and great agility. I hope he remains an important part of NXT UK for a long time to come. Eddie Dennis isn't too bad either. He can talk, and showed just how strong he is in this match, but I don't think his attire stands out at all.
Yes Toni Storm! Very happy to see her become the new NXT UK Women's Champion. I've honestly just never seen anything special with Rhea Ripley. Don't get me wrong, she is good, but I'm relieved that Toni is now the champion. With Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert in the crowd, as well as reports of Viper being offered a contract, I'm really excited to see where the NXT UK Women's Division goes from here.
While it had some great moments, I felt that the main event was WAY too long. I just felt there were too many ridiculous kick-outs that I thought it wasn't really too believable. Regardless, I can appreciate the effort both men put into it and how much they wanted to steal the show. It's very clear from the online speculation in the previous few weeks and the live crowd reaction tonight that fans love this new Walter guy. I hope he lives up the hype. But if NXT is any indication to go by, I don't think there will be any problem there.
The future looks bright for NXT UK.

Wow, that's insanely helpful hellojoeivers. Thanks a lot for that. Had no idea when the WM Elites were coming, so it's nice to have a rough estimate. I'm looking forward to seeing this each week.

Can't say I'm following closely at all, but does this card not scream 'we're going to do Charlotte vs Ronda at Wrestlemania as we planned and waste the one people are genuinely interested in'? I'm almost certain they're building towards the Four Horsewomen match at WrestleMania, rather than a singles match. Ronda knocked both Becky and Charlotte off the ladder at TLC. Ronda randomly challenged Sasha Banks out of nowhere on RAW. With Bayley tagging with Sasha, it would be very easy to get Bayley involved too. It would be a good time to turn Ronda heel, now that she's starting to run out of heels to beat and her title run is starting to get a bit stale, and bringing the rest of the MMA 4HW up to take out the WWE 4HW is a good way to do that.

Personally, I think it should always be a top guy/woman winning the Royal Rumble match. They've tried having lower card guys win the Rumble in the past (Alberto Del Rio is the main example in my mind), and they've always felt like they could have picked a better winner. I agree that they shouldn't go for someone who's already a multi-time World Champion (unless it's to create a unique situation, like Cena getting another shot at the Rock in 2013), but I also think that they should go for someone who's on the cusp of becoming a top star, who is capable of staying a top star. Curt Hawkins most definitely is as far from that as you can get. Alberto Del Rio wasn't that. I don't think Sheamus was the best choice in 2012 either.
I think they just need to strike the right balance. Someone who's already been built up enough to be credible as a top star, but not someone who's already been a top star for years. Alberto Del Rio wasn't credible enough for me in 2011. Randy Orton really didn't need to win it again in 2017.
For this year, Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor are the top contenders to win the men's for me. As for the women's, I think that's far more unpredictable, given that they seem to be building towards the Four Horsewomen tag match at WrestleMania, rather than Becky VS Ronda.

Received the Fan Central Carmella figure today and it’s a solid figure. The headscan is great! That's still a US exclusive, isn't it? It does look really good.

It was a decent RAW. Nothing bad, nothing good. Just meh. Skipped through the Brock/Braun promo, and all the matches except Sasha VS Nia, because I quite enjoyed their feud in early 2017. I'm beyond thrilled that they're finally doing something with Sasha Banks again, even if it's likely only until WrestleMania. Ronda VS Sasha is a dream match to me. Even though I know there's no chance Sasha will beat Ronda, I'm sure they'll put on one hell of a match. If TLC wasn't clear enough, now I'm certain they're setting up the Four Horsewomen match at WrestleMania. With Sasha now booked in a title match at the Royal Rumble, I wonder if she'll still compete in the Royal Rumble match. Either way, I cannot wait for Sasha VS Ronda, and my interest in the whole PPV has shot up as a result. That video package for Mean Gene was excellent too.

Decided to become a collector, and bought Basic 53 AJ Lee with Divas title and Elite Walgreens Sasha Banks (without Women's title), both loose off of eBay. Just gonna try and be sensible and only buy a select few from now on.

I remember enjoying the first season very much. However I haven't been impressed with the majority of the second season so far. This week's episode was much better than the previous ones though. I do absolutely love how much they push the boundaries though, in terms of referencing people that WWE would never acknowledge elsewhere, and then referencing that fact! I assume Vince doesn't have any involvement in the show whatsoever, otherwise I'm sure he wouldn't allow it to air!

While it's likely to not be something I'd be interested in watching, given that I didn't particularly enjoy All In, I have been looking forward to this getting started. If they can build it up to be somewhat WCW 2.0 with that billionaire backing them like Ted Turner did WCW, it sounds like we could be in for an interesting time for the WWE, if this becomes potential competition.

I'm really excited for Women's Tag Team titles! It's a championship that was very much needed. Now instead of meaningless tag feuds, they can actually have something to fight for. Hopefully the next plan is for an all-womens brand to give them time to shine.
Yes, this is another championship to add to the PPV cards. If we limit the criteria to either RAW or SmackDown Live championships, the men have 6 championships to fight over. The women only have 2. I don't care if some people want to moan that "there are too many titles!!!!!". Increasing that 2 to a 3 is an important step towards equality.
I think it'll be a booking travesty if the Boss and Hug Connection are not the first champions though. They're two of the most talented on the roster, yet have been atrociously booked for a very long time. They look like a team, they wrestle like a team. This new championship would finally shine a spotlight on them once again.

A bit disappointed with the new Takeover: Phoenix logo. Why on earth would they change it? The old one looked perfect! Was it actually fan-made rather than the official logo? The new one doesn't look bad itself, but it looks bad by comparison. Even if the old one featuring a phoenix was fan-made, that's still the direction they should have gone in, rather than what they have done now. Old logo: New logo:
