She's explained it herself pretty well. Here is a direct quote from Becky Lynch, taken from WWE Chronicle:
"I'm not talking about gender. I'm not saying I am A man. I am saying I am THE man. The Man has been used as the moniker to being the top dog in our business...so it's what's Ric Flair called himself, he said to be the Man, you gotta beat the Man. Well there's nobody else who was on top of the totem pole like I am right now. So therefore I am the Man. And being the Man is all about believing in yourself. It's about believing in yourself more than other people believe in you. The man in the male room can be the Man. The woman that's running a Fortune 500 company can be the Man. But in my business there's only one Man, and that's me."
So it's not about gender. It's about being the best.

I was late on the nxt train, which was a big mistake. some of the absolute best storylines - and angles - in the last 20 years. Same. I only gave NXT a chance last year. Best decision I ever made when it comes to entertainment.

So this RAW seemed to have it's ups and downs. Ups: Becky's segment was good. I really like the character development of Becky refusing to see any doctors after having Survivor Series taken away from her. Good storytelling. The entire Moment of Bliss segment was really fun to watch. Dean was fantastic. EC3 beating Ambrose in his main roster debut was a big shock. I know it's more to sell the Ambrose leaving storyline than to give EC3 a push, but it was still a good moment. Boss n Hug Connection qualifying for the Women's Tag Team title Elimination Chamber match very well deserved. I really liked the spot where Sasha pulled Bayley out of harm's way. It really worked on selling how strongly unified they are. The Revival seem to finally be getting the push they deserve. I liked the Ryder/Hawkins backstage talk. Downs: What the was that ending? Since when has the illegal tag team partner striking an opponent been a DQ?! That's unfathomably dumb, I don't know how anyone thought that was a good idea. One week Nikki Cross is a beloved face tagging with the faces, the next she's a heel partnering with Alicia Fox? What on earth? Flipping someone's alignment without any on-screen explanation never works. I can only hope that this was a one week turn to set up a feud with Alicia Fox. There were a good couple of random backstage segments that I didn't care for, those being Natalya/Dana Brooke and Apollo Crews/Rezar. I don't know why they devoted time to them, but I still didn't care for either story afterwards. So it was a bit of a mixed bag last night. Some really good stuff, but also some REALLY bad stuff.

Although it would be nice for Becky to get her big one-on-one WrestleMania match (and hopefully in the main event if WWE have any sense), I honestly won't be mad when they add Charlotte to make it a Triple Threat. As already mentioned, it adds to the "Charlotte takes all of Becky's moments" story, and ensures that when Becky covers Charlotte to win, she'll get a massive cheer and will have finally given Charlotte a taste of her own medicine. Plus, Charlotte is one of the best superstars today. She's such a talented wrestler that adding her will only add to the match quality, rather than hinder. Remember how the WrestleMania 32 Triple Threat stole the show? I see the same thing happening again this year. Only this time, in the main event.

He absolutely needs to return as a face. You can't win a battle with leukaemia and not return to a huge babyface pop.

You gotta love what an effective heel she is. She gets angry smarks all riled up without even having done what she's being accused of. A thread full of accusations of injuring R-Truth, despite the fact that he was clearly 100% fine, based on the fact that he not only took part in a backstage segment immediately after the match, but was fine to wrestle a mere two nights later. If it didn't happen, then it didn't count. COULD Truth have gotten injured? Of course. Anyone can get injured from any move. And guess what? Truth didn't get injured. So what's the point of blaming Nia for something that never happened? I listened to Lawler talk about this incident, and he sounded more amused than angry and concerned to me. I guess people prefer to jump to angry rant-filled conclusions rather than thinking logically based on evidence. Probably the exact same people who LOVE strong style, so that's double standards.
I get it. Nia Jax unfortunately does have a growing list of other performers getting injured in their match with her, and it's longer over a shorter period of time than her contemporaries. That's irrefutable evidence. But ask yourself this question: "if Nia Jax is supposedly "dangerous", "unsafe", "sloppy", then why is she still on TV?". WWE have shown in the past that if their performers aren't good enough, they're not afraid of sending them down to developmental for further training. Why has this not happened already? The answer of course, is that the higher-ups in WWE trust her to do her job. That's good enough for me. I'd certainly trust their opinion, who are qualified and get paid to evaluate who is "safe" and who's not, over the opinions of angry smarks who spend their days ranting on the internet about topics they're not qualified to talk about. You're perfectly fine to state what you enjoy and don't enjoy about the product, but I feel that unless you are a pro wrestler, you don't really have a right to slap around labels like "unsafe", "dangerous", etc. I'll leave that evaluation to the professionals. Just me?
And besides that, no one on this forum knows what goes on behind closed doors. What if this entire situation was manufactured by WWE to drum up attention for a future Nia Jax/R-Truth feud? That would certainly make more sense to me than a supposed "hurt" superstar competing with no evident injuries a couple of nights later. Wouldn't be the first time they engineered a situation to get the internet talking.
Seriously people, please just chill out. I know it's hard with John Cena and Roman Reigns gone, but you really don't need to find one person to all consistently hate on.

I'm wanting to watch NXT from the beginning, when did it debut debut as a brand? Assuming you want to skip the crappy reality competition NXT, you'll want to start with NXT Episode 122. I started watching NXT from the beginning last year, after having never watched a single episode, and watching the journey of NXT from the beginning to the present day was incredible.

Absolutely, yes! It's been proven on the indies and at the Royal Rumble that it can work great when handled correctly. And at the end of the day, intergender wrestling is what true equality is.

So, can somebody please explain this Halftime Heat thing to me? What on earth is this "big game" they keep talking about while advertising it? Is this some non-WWE event that they're involved in? What time is this 6 Man Tag Team match going to go up? Halftime of the Super Bowl, the timing depends on the game. Could be anywhere from 7:45-8:30 Ah okay, thank you. Would have been nice if they had explained it for clarity for their international audience.

I have a feeling that this WrestleMania is going to be particularly great. I'm already excited, and it's only January.
The interaction between Ronda/Bayley & Becky last night on RAW gave me an incredible idea for exactly how I think the booking should go. They seem to have been pushing for both Becky VS Ronda in a singles match, as well as the Four Horsewomen match simultaneously over the past few months. So if they plan on combining the two, this is what I want to see go down:
Becky and Charlotte find some way of making up at some point between now and WrestleMania weekend, with Charlotte fully endorsing Becky Lynch. Sasha and Bayley also publicly state their support for Becky.
At NXT Takeover: New York, Shayna Baszler defends her NXT Women's Championship against someone (maybe Io Shirai, unless they plan to call Shirai/Sane up as a tag team). During the match, the rest of Ronda's friends are ringside to help interfere against Shayna's opponent. Who comes out to stop them? The Four Horsewomen. Crowd goes mental, Shayna loses her title.
At WrestleMania, we have Becky Lynch VS Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women's Championship, with the rest of the Four Horsewomen in Becky's corner, and Ronnie's friends in her corner. Becky wins, crowd erupts. Ronda leaves WWE for a while. Her friends are banished back to NXT.

I know they always get the booking right for WrestleMania season, but last night's RAW seems to have gotten everything right. It was awesome!
- The Rollins/HHH/Ambrose promo to start off the show was great. It felt like they're turning Ambrose into a tweener, which is what he should have been in the first place rather than a full heel.
- Ambrose's overselling of the Curb Stomp was perfect.
- Nia interrupting Dean's promo to attack Dean was fantastic! I know most internet fans HATE Nia Jax with a passion and likely always will, but I feel that for the first time in her main roster career, creative are finally handling Nia Jax right. Now she's an unstoppable, uncaring monster juggernaut who will happily beat up anyone, and that now includes the men's division. Now they just need to get rid of Tamina, because she's dragging Nia down and taking away from her monster persona. I really want to see Dean Ambrose VS Nia Jax at WrestleMania now. WWE should be doing more intergender wrestling, and this is a great idea.
- I love that Alexa Bliss ate the pinfall in the tag team match. Mickie has already been booked into oblivion, so she shouldn't be dragged down any more. I want to see more of Nia Jax after her booking and her performances over the past couple of days, and Dean can cost Nia and Tamina at Elimination Chamber to further their feud. And I'll be honest, I want to see Alexa Bliss losing for a good while. I'm not hating on Alexa Bliss as a performer at all. I think she's great, and maybe has the best mic skills out of anyone in WWE right now, man or woman. But she was superbooked for so long and handled so poorly until Ronda came along, that I really don't want to see that again anytime soon. I want to see her continually lose important matches for a while, until it gets to the point where I want to see her win.
- Kurt Angle losing clean to Baron Corbin was a bit weird. I really don't understand why Corbin is still wrestling in business attire. Why on earth hasn't he gone back to wrestling attire?
- Finn's promo was really good, and I enjoyed Lashley's beatdown on Finn, which is not something I thought I'd say. I think this is the beginning of a solid feud that will lead to Finn winning the Intercontinental Championship. After Finn's performance against Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, he deserves something to give him legitimacy.
- Riott Squad definitely deserved to be in the Chamber, and now they are. I will say that I think Dana Brooke has performed really well the past couple of days.
- Elias' heel turn was a bit baffling at first, but I can buy it if it's just so he can feud against Jarrett for WrestleMania. It was fantastic to see Road Dogg come out wearing a Becky Lynch shirt. That shows that even the people behind the scenes are fully behind Becky. I've never seen much of Jarrett, but I enjoyed the segment nonetheless.
- I thought they'd wait until Elimination Chamber or Fastlane for Ronda to vanquish the final remaining Horsewoman that isn't Becky Lynch, but now she's beaten them all.
- That Becky/Ronda segment was fantastic! It was really hilarious to hear the crowd vehemently booing Ronda every single second that she was speaking. And I say that even as someone who Ronda turned into a fan of hers. This is entirely the direction they should proceed in, with the audience rejecting Ronda in favour of Becky. It's not going to work as well if they try to keep Ronda as a sympathetic face.

This was honestly one of the best NXT Takeovers. Although I think it got off to a slow start, it instantly switched from solid to incredible halfway through.
War Raiders VS Undisputed Era was great by the end. But I think it was a bit of a weird choice to have as the opener, because I'm just used to NXT Tag Team title matches being in the middle of the card. Regardless, I thought the match started a bit slow and dragged a little bit from beginning to middle, but then became hectic and exciting towards the end. I'm pleased with War Raiders as the new champs. Undisputed Era had a good long run, but it was time to freshen the division up. I'm surprised that Fish and Cole were absent from ringside. I can't remember any rule barring them from ringside. So why weren't they out there? That didn't make any sense.
Matt Riddle VS Kassius Ohno was better than expected. Before Takeover, I had little to no interest in this match, because we've already seen it a couple of times. But I think they did such a good job with the video package before the match, that that alone boosted my interest significantly. I always love a well put together video package. I think both guys told a good story in their match, and now the feud should be over.
Oh my, Johnny Gargano VS Ricochet! I fully expected the two to steal the show beforehand, but WOW! Definitely Match of the Year! And Johnny Gargano has finally won his first singles title in WWE, after two years of scratching and clawing! The ending spot was beautifully pulled off, and cemented his character as one who has been pushed too far over the edge.
Bianca Belair VS Shayna Baszler was really good. Until the past few months, I didn't get Bianca Belair. Now I do now, and her performance at Takeover cemented why people should care about her. I'm disappointed that she didn't dethrone Baszler, but I think Belair will definitely be a future champion one day.
To be honest, I zoned out a little bit during the main event, but I did really enjoy what I did pay attention to during Aleister Black VS Tomasso Ciampa.
And holy shit, that ending!!! Ciampa and Gargano has been the best story ever told in pro wrestling history in my opinion. And it got took to a whole new level with that one ending shot of both men standing on stage to raise their titles together. After so long of being bitter archenemies, Gargano finally seems to have joined forces with what he hated. Everyone involved should pat themselves on the back, because this story has been pulled off to perfection, and I cannot wait to see where it goes next!

Last night's Royal Rumble was great. Both Rumble matches were incredible, and the non-Rumble matches were all at least solid (apart from AJ/Bryan):
Becky VS Asuka was a solid match. I was really surprised that Becky lost clean to Asuka. I expected Asuka to retain, but I didn't expect a clean loss to Becky. I thought it was a mistake at the time, but Becky's Rumble win nullified it.
Miz/Shane VS The Bar was solid.
Sasha Banks VS Ronda Rousey was the non-Rumble match of the night for me. It was a really good match, and told a great story. This was the most anticipated non-Rumble match on the card for me, and I believe it lived up to my expectations. Sasha Banks is a star, and her performance in this match just exemplified that. I think they dragged out the post-match staring way too long though. But it was nice to get a tease of the Four Horsewomen match. Now with Rousey having vanquished Becky, Charlotte, and now Sasha, Bayley is the only one left. And Bayley put on a really strong showing in the Women's Royal Rumble match.
The Women's Royal Rumble match was fantastic, much better than last year's (which I still really enjoyed). Lots of NXT talent in (though surprisingly no Shayna Baszler). I think the only downside is that there should have been at least a couple of female legends returning. Every Royal Rumble match needs a blast from the past. But still, that's a minor niggle. What they did do was great. I LOVED seeing Candice LeRae, Kacy Catanzaro, Kairi Sane, and Io Shirai in there. It was nice to see Rhea Ripley in too, and Xia Li was surprisingly good too. Zelina Vega's hiding under the ring was brilliant, and it was hilarious to see her grinning face emerge with underneath the ring with her intelligent tactic. The Hornswoggle spot was hilarious too. The ending was especially brilliant. I absolutely LOVED seeing Becky win the Royal Rumble match. They did a great job of having her enter as a replacement at the very last minute, rather than just being #29. It made her entry that much more special. Charlotte/Nia/Becky was a great final three, considering the past few months. And now we should be Becky Lynch VS Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania! Hopefully WWE have the sense to book that match as the main event. I don't care what anybody says. The Man IS the main event!
AJ Styles VS Daniel Bryan was such an incredibly boring, long, drawn-out match that I started to fall asleep during it. Pretty much sums up the whole Eco-Warrior Daniel Bryan gimmick to me. I've probably reached the point to stop paying any attention to Daniel Bryan from now on until they revert him back to being the leader of the Yes Movement again. I'm just not interested in his gimmick in the slightest. I don't think being an eco-warrior works for pro wrestling as a gimmick, and his match quality has plummeted since he changed his in-ring style. Daniel Bryan is not fun to watch anymore.
Finn Balor VS Brock Lesnar was better than expected, but it had an absolutely joke of an ending. It was a fun match up until the end, with Balor looking surprisingly strong against Lesnar, which I never expected to see. But then after 10 minutes of getting beaten up and getting next to no offense in, Lesnar locks in one submission and it's over? What a joke! The sooner Lesnar can leave WWE, the better for me as an audience member. I don't care how many casual fans he brings to WWE, he doesn't interest me in the slightest, and WWE's booking of him continues to drag everyone else down.
The Men's Royal Rumble match was fantastic! I exploded in joy when Johnny Gargano entered the Royal Rumble match, and only to a slightly lesser degree when Aleister Black entered. I hoped both men would enter beforehand (I also hoped for Ciampa, Ricochet, and Dream), and I was thrilled when they did! Now Mr and Mrs Wrestling have participated in Royal Rumble matches. Kurt Angle and Pete Dunne were good surprise entries too. McIntyre put on a pretty good performance, especially destroying No Way Jose and his conga line. I absolutely LOVED Nia Jax taking out R-Truth out of the Rumble and entering in his place. I know that logically it doesn't make much sense that Nia would be allowed to enter, given that the women have their own Rumble match now, but I don't care. I enjoyed it too much to care about logic. And when you think about it, it makes complete sense that Nia would do that, after seeing Becky replace an injured Lana in the Women's Royal Rumble match. Nia has the build to fit right in a Men's Royal Rumble match, and it showed when she fought Mustafa Ali, Rey Mysterio, and Randy Orton. Orton's RKO was such a fun spot! My interest in Nia has certainly taken a major dip in the past couple of months, but her performance in this match made it shoot right back up again! WWE really should make intergender wrestling a far more frequent occurrence. This match proved that it can work when done right, and intergender wrestling is true equality. I knew it would be either McIntyre, Strowman or Rollins winning it, and I'd be fine with any of the three. I hoped for McIntyre, but I'm happy with Rollins winning it too.

Absolutely, yes.
When the reports were circulating that Ambrose was about to turn heel, I hoped that if it came to pass, that Ambrose would be a nasty, vicious, sadistic superstar with no remorse, probably harkening back to his last FCW match when he repeatedly mashed Regal's head against the exposed turnbuckle until Regal's ear got cut open. As others in this thread have said, a main roster version of Ciampa. However instead what we got, was he just came out and whined about the hygiene of the crowd? That was incredibly lazy writing, and the entirely wrong direction. They've messed up the characterisation of Dean Ambrose so badly, that I honestly just do not care about him at this point. And I used to think Dean Ambrose was great.

I am absolutely loving it! I would honestly argue that it's the best long-term storyline in WWE history. It's phenomenal storytelling. And just at the point after Takeover: Brooklyn 4 where it hinted at getting stale, they let it fade into the background before bringing it back in a different form. Every single interaction that's happened since the Gargano/Ciampa/Black promo in which Ciampa suggested a Steel Cage match, I've thoroughly enjoyed and never not been totally invested in. I just love it so much.

I'm not surprised. I'm sure she's been saying for a while that she wants to start a family soon. Can't blame her at all for that. But still, she's had a good year and silenced most of the critics (myself included). I'm sure we'll see her back again if she does leave after WrestleMania.

I've just looked at Smyth's website, to see if they were having the Elite Wrestlemania figs - the home delivery option is faded out and there is none in my local store. Have they actually been available for home delivery - and I've missed them? Or have they just not been released yet? Cheers Ears! I don't think they've been released yet. I've been checking regularly and haven't seen them come into stock at all. Wrestling Shop only got them in a week or two ago. Hopefully they come in-stock at Smyths soon.

Interesting take. I'm blown away by Shayna in-ring and her poise. I guess it's because she's automatically compared to Rousey in my mind.. and Rousey looks so lost and sloppy, Shayna looks like a seasoned veteran by comparison. Personally, I'm just not a fan of her in-ring style. She makes a good heel bully, I won't deny that. But she just seems to me to depend far too much on MMA style strikes and submissions for my liking. It's possible that I'm being too biased due to my distaste towards MMA, but it seems to me that she rarely does wrestling moves. I think that if you're wrestler, then you should wrestle like a wrestler, rather than continuing to fight like an MMA fighter. Rousey on the other hand does wrestle like a wrestler in my eyes. Just my personal taste. I know some people enjoy the MMA style, but I don't.
