It looks like the border around the logo is thinner than the last one. Other than that it's solid, much like the one we had. That being said,

if this is for WM, give me Bryan vs. Lesnar for the belt in a "Retribution/Reclaiming the title I never lost" feud, then let Reigns beat Ambrose and Rollins in a spectacular triple threat carried by the two losers of the match.

I've said this on Tumblr before but I'd love Rose to slowly transform into Leo Kruger week after week. Like slowly snapping and beating up Rosebuds, getting less colorful gear each week, not feeling the crowd-dive before a match...eventually Kruger comes out in him.

That would be best-case scenario: big time matchup, Batista gets the reign he wants. The only problem is who's the face? Brock with Heyman can't be cheered after destroying both UT and the golden boy, and I'm damn sure I don't want to see face Batista any time soon. Maybe it could be heel/heel and HHH-Cena would main?

The NY/NJ crowds usually crap on him hard; my dad always wrote it off as him being a Boston/Red Sox guy in Yankee territory. But nowadays it's hard to find a pro-Cena crowd. New Orleans was singing "John Cena sucks" to the tune of his entrance theme. Chicago gave him one of the most overpowering jeers I've ever heard back in 2011:
I remember Unforgiven '05 vs. Kurt Angle was the first time I noticed anti-Cena crowds. Then of course getting a crappy submission move and tapping out the likes of Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels didn't do much to gain his popularity. I remember laughing at the WM 22 main event because, Christ the crowd was more into jeering Cena than watching the match.
And the kind of stuff aimed at Cena at ONS '06 ("Cena swallows!" in particular) has to be the most disparaging things I've ever heard directed toward a wrestler in the ring.

To play devil's advocate, had Nexus gone 6 or 7 months of just domination, while the payoff would be that much sweeter it would've dragged on and been boring.
But I do believe Vince brought out the shovels and read the eulogy to them when he was fresh out of ideas -- then just decided Cena would take each and every one of them out.

I specifically remember Kurt Angle coming out on the final Raw or Smackdown before WM 17 and saying how he wasn't booked on the show which led to Chris Benoit coming out and challenging him since he wasn't booked either. I think that was pretty much the whole story. There was almost no build up. Yea thats where I'm a little confused. It seems strange they give Angle the WWF Title for almost 5 months but then don't have a match set up for him for Mania 17 until the final Raw before the PPV? And same with Benoit, he was feuding with Guerrero for most of late Feb through Mid March then all of the sudden they split. I remember Angle/Show having a mini feud after No Way Out 01 as well. While we're on the subject it seemed like Kane/Taker was heading for a feud with Rikishi/Haku. I wonder how much of Mania was changed on the fly. I kind of assume we were always gonna get Austin/Rock and Taker/HHH, but it seems like part of the card was somewhat thrown together last minute besides Jericho/Regal. Chyna/Ivory, TLC II, and Shane/Vince (although Shane/Vince was supposedly supposed to be Foley/Vince as well), they all had a decent buildup. I read on wikipedia (so I don't know how true it is) that Rikishi was sidelined in march with an ear injury. I almost wonder if it was supposed to be - Rikishi vs. Kane (since Rikishi was getting a big Heel push at the time) - Angle vs. Big Show (since they were feuding since No Way Out) - Eddie vs. Benoit (due to the Benoit leaving the Radicalz after No Way Out) And then maybe quite a few matches got changed because of Rikishi being out?Hmm I wish someone knew the backstory on this. I would love for this to be true. Like Vince is in the war room with Patterson, Briscoe, JR and the rest and he's throwing a fit: "Rikishi's out dammit! It's RIKISHI! We can't go on like this without him! That's it, scratch that card, we gotta think of a new one dammit!"

This post is just for WM 29 specifically but I'd re-do a lot of the cards in recent memory.
- Ziggler would've cashed in and won at 'Mania in my mind. My section of the crowd was belting "We Want Ziggler" from the closing bell straight through the Special Olympics video, needless to say we were disappointed he didn't come out. Would've solidified his career.
- Punk/Rock/Cena. No need for an absent champion during 'Mania build-up. Punk gets the main event he deserves and can still take his time off after WM regrouping from his loss. Cena's pay-off woulda been bigger, not only conquering Rock but finally getting the upper hand on Punk. Rock puts over 2 guys that we would, in that alternate reality, consider future legends.
- Undertaker vs. Brock then. Trips only fights once a year anyway; absolutely pointless to put a "career on the line" stip for the match that took place. Just a reason for HHH to get one last WM win. Finish would be the same as this year. 20 straight wins would've been more rounded than 21.
- Barrett beats Miz on the pre-show. That one-day reign was moronic.

I wasn't a member here in 2002......but I remember being very "so so" about Brock.....until the HIAC match with Undertaker. I got more and more into him from there. vs RVD at KOTR and vs Rock at SSlam did zero for me and still don't. I was happy with his face push at first but his heavily telegraphed win at RR03 and weak run in to WM19 hurt him for me. I was delighted to see him turn heel again and feud with face Angle. I was also SUPER excited for his match with Goldberg but Vince in his infinite pettiness threw out the match Heyman & Hayes had booked and we got what we got.Forgive me for asking but what was the original plan on this match? I never heard a story about it. Personally, being a five-year-old and a wrestling fan for roughly a year, I remember him destroying all the guys I liked and legitimitely fearing which one of my heroes was gonna be his victim. He was scary, but in an intimidating way. And to this day Lesnar/'Taker HIAC is my favorite match of all-time.

Well there goes any chance of Del Rio being interesting again.
Shame, I thought Ricardo had a niche as a Spanish announcer but it looks like he was passionate about wrestling.

If he leaves I see the WWE in a "New Generation" situation where we don't have a #1 guy, but a bunch of really good #2 guys. NG had Bret, Shawn, Razor, Diesel, etc. who were steps behind Hogan's level but, all together, could keep the company up. This generation would have the likes of Bryan, Reigns, Cesaro, Wyatt, etc. all behind Cena but together could keep us afloat. That is if, and that's a massive if, Cena decides to walk away. I don't see him going to Hollywood for another decade, once he knows he's 100% done with wrestling.

What frightens me is that Brock had (and possibly still has) the three PPV matches per year thingy in his contract. The Royal Rumble match with Big Show (utterly useless) and Wrestlemania make two, and Summerslam would be the third. I can't see him losing to Cena a second time, especially coming off conquering the Streak. It would be a slap in the face to the 23 years that Undertaker was dominating Wrestlemania, only for his conquerer to lose to a guy who has never taken any opponent seriously.
He has to win. And he has to win the rematch. Why give the proclaimed "Most dominant competitor in WWE history" Undertaker's streak AND the WWE Title only to lose it and look weak a month later? What, to let Cena tie Ric Flair, only for the eventual Rollins cash-in (which, in my mind, shouldn't happen until after 'Mania next year). But like you said, how many shows is he gonna show up to? Rock held the belt for two months and barely made appearances and everyone crapped on it. I can't imagine the backlash over an eight-month period without the champion on camera. Again, his contract possibly has been altered where he's wrestling on more than three PPVs, but who knows.
I still think a Wrestlemania main event of Brock/Reigns would be bad. Real bad. Save Reigns' crowning moment for WM 32, no need to send him to the stratosphere when he's gonna have Cena in the same space for 5-10 more years. Maybe we're getting a slow, slow burn push of Cesaro. Maybe Rock or Batista will resume the part-time main-eventing role. Maybe it's Cena again. Bryan may be back in time, and even though he's hurt he's still getting fantastic reactions for his name being dropped on Raw.
The whole WWE Title picture is really murky for Wrestlemania at this point; rightfully so, however; telegraphing the main event half a year in advance would be ugly.

Is he still a big Merchandise seller? I think he tweeted a week or so ago that WWE took down almost all his merch from the website.

They dropped the ball MASSIVELY with him. Don't forget, he lost the US Title barely a month into his reign in a throwaway match on Raw against a floundering Jack Swagger. He became the guy that took Cena's beatings in a garbage feud with Kane. Instead of getting a singles win defending his US Title at Wrestlemania like he should have, he got kicked in the groin by Eve and never recovered. I couldn't see him as any more than a high-profile midcarder, but he was f'n over. He could've been, along with Punk, Bryan, Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Cesaro, Wyatt, etc. part of the new wave of stars for this generation of wrestling. Instead of being in a Rick Rude-esque role (don't be confused with this statement: he'd be at the position Rude was as an upper-midcarder/lower main-eventer; not comparing him to Rude talent-wise) of this generation, he's absolutely nothing. I don't normally agree with some of the stuff Foley writes, but I have to here: the story of Zack Ryder is truly a sad one.

Sweet, now they need to add the young bucks or bad influence. Wwe needs some good tag teams. Right now the only good tag teams are the usos and Wyatt's and we can't have them fight every ppvThey've been trying pretty hard lol. And yeah NXT is gonna be bonkers with Devitt and KENTA and all of them. Hopefully the facepaint stays--even if he doesn't do comic book characters and just does abstract designs--it'll get over like crazy in NXT and will translate well to the main roster.

Ryder AND Ziggler got a win in the same night for the first time since like 2011. Vince must've been trippin' last night or something.
