Big Show mainevented Survivor Series the month before so maybe him Maybe Show climbing a ladder or being put through a table would've made a match between him and Orton more exciting, lol.

I was just thinking about this:
Last summer, John Cena's elbow was the size of a tennis ball. He came on Raw the night after Summerslam and said he faced surgery and would have to miss at least 6 months. That would have put him out until February at the earliest, missing a good portion of the Wrestlemania build-up (not saying he wouldn't get a match, but takes away from whatever feud he was set to be in). Most importantly, however, Cena missing six months would set his return after his title unification match at TLC.
My question to you guys is: had Cena not been the Bionic Man and come back in 2 months, would the World Titles even be unified? Could they have had a unification match that was not Cena/Orton? Hell, how could Wrestlemania play out with either two World Titles or without a 3-month-long Cena/Wyatt build-up?
I don't think they could have unified the titles without John Cena involved. No chance in hell we'd see Del Rio/Orton, so ADR would have to drop the belt (and not to Sandow either; no chance there). Giving Bryan the WHC would be a viable idea, but making him a 4-time World champ before his big payoff, which one way or another should be at WM, is utterly pointless. Punk wouldn't have signed off to be a transitional champ just to give Orton both belts. We would have been looking at 2 World Titles until probably Summerslam this year before a possible unification.

I've been enjoying this thoroughly, but I'm afraid they've booked themselves into a corner come Sunday. Everyone and their mothers can see they have absolutely no purpose for Rusev after his first loss--be it against Cena, Swagger, the Patriot, etc.--once he loses, his entire gimmick of "America is beneath me" is crushed (pun probably intended) and he goes to fighting jobbers. If Swagger loses his momentum plummets, and unless he gets a win over Rusev soon after he falls into face midcard hell. It'd be pointless to give away Rusev's first loss on free TV; it should be saved for a PPV. Hopefully, we see either a no-contest or a tough Rusev win, culminating with Swagger continuing the feud and winning at Summerslam.

Just out of curiosity--Night of Champions is billed as the "night where every title is on the line." If they only have four titles, are we only gonna see four matches? Does this mean we're only gonna see 1-3 title defenses on all the other PPVs? Or is the tagline wrong and the name of the show meaningless?
I'm pulling for Dolph. Bo would also be enjoyable. Anybody but Sheamus.

Hopefully this means that it'll return in a year or so and we'll have 2 World Titles once again.

I've been taking TV Broadcasting classes the past two years at school, and shaking the camera up and down is definitely not how I was taught how to work a camera. I talked to my teacher about it and he said it was horrendous. The footage becomes blurry and it becomes harder to follow what's going on. They should either zoom out and stay on a shot of both competitors involved or zoom in on the impact and stay on the impact. I understand the "chaos" that they're trying to portray with it but it simply just does not work.

As long as they bring him up as a straight-forward wrestler and not strap him with a Japanese gimmick, he'll be an upper midcarder with some fantastic matches in the company.

Please let Chicago get something other than Payback. Past 2 shows have been great, but I've been DYING to see a Rumble or EC live. I hope Payback doesn't become a Chicago based PPV like SS/LA. Exactly this. I'm dying for a Chicago Rumble....you guys had a Chi-Town Rumble... lol

I'm assuming the background is reference to the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906. Pretty cool.
I hope the stage is all decked out for San Fran. Trolleys and buildings galore.
That logo, however, best have a number in place of that play button. F that.

SmackDown sounds rough. I don't get the whole Fandango and the ladies payoff with the ladies turning on him. Hell I don't understand Fandango being featured twice on SmackDown. And I hope to god the Wyatts win the titles at Battleground so this feud could end. You don't enjoy 4 star Tag team Matches? They've delivered every time they've been in the ring together. And if the Wyatt's win, they'd get a rematch. I think a big part of it is hearing the Wyatt's new theme which I don't like...I'm definitely enjoying the matches but we've seen it so many times now it's like each match is just bits and pieces from all of their collective matches against each other.

First of all, if they do unify it they better not start calling the resultant product the "United States Intercontinental Title" or some BS like they do with the WWE Title. It's too wordy, confusing and downright stupid as the name of a company's championship.
They shouldn't unify the belts in the first place anyway. Wrestling as a whole is different than it was in the 1980s were there wasn't a demand for more championships. Four titles was fine for 1987 but it seems odd and out of place in 2014, not unique. Unifying the World Titles guarantees the title picture to revolve around the same handful of stars because with only one major championship the WWE would be less likely to give an up-and-comer a World Title, instead of giving them the lesser (WHC) and testing the waters before solidifying them with the WWE Title. The likes of Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler, and Kofi Kingston have NO SHOT of a World Title run for the forseeable future because, let's be honest, none of them would be able to carry the company's top title, even in a fluke run. Instead, the only main-event title feud, the only match that would go on last on PPV save for a grudge match with a seasoned veteran (HHH, Brock, etc.), revolves around the likes of Cena, Orton, Batista, Kane, Sheamus, and Roman Reigns. It makes the product bland and predictable because say the WWEWHC match on PPV is Cena/Barrett. They could do the best job in the world of building Barrett but everyone and their mothers know he won't be holding the biggest title in the company (the example leads into the "oh because he's fighting Cena" argument but you could replace him with anyone else I've mentioned). The same blandness that occurs at the top will occur at the bottom of the card if the IC and US titles are unified.
What have the midcard "feuds" been this year without the championships? We've had 3MB fighting Los Matadores because midgets, we've had Cesaro/Van Dam/Swagger in a poorly-construed rivalry, Rusev versus America and random Vladimir Putin references, and now we're treated to a love rectangle between Dolph/Fandango/Summer/Layla. The feuds we've gotten, and in turn the matches we've seen on PPV, have been lacking and, again, bland. The titles have added two quality matches to the card on the PPVs they've been defended. Big E/Barrett at Extreme Rules, Sheamus/Cesaro and Barrett/Van Dam at Payback. The title gives the feud some reality, something special that's lacking with non-title feuds. Goldust and Stardust vs. Rybaxel at MiTB got almost no crowd reaction. Big E/Barrett had the whole crowd on their feet. Yeah the championships are "devalued" and are just "props," but you could convince me easily that Guy A wants the belt from Guy B and will do what it takes to win it, and when he doesn't he moves on and Guy B takes on his next challenge. If these belts are unified--especially if the US Title is dropped, basically making Sheamus's reign irrelevant because he did nothing to re-legitimize it from Ambrose's stranglehold on the belt--we lose one more exciting PPV match, one more relevant and explainable feud, and one less "prop" that keeps the current product fresh.

I've been watching clips from Jim Cornette's various shoots and it seems like he's got a strong opinion on everything. He's quick to point fingers at people he doesn't like and seems like he has a good mind for the business.
Very simply, I want to know from you guys what your opinions on Jim Cornette are. Is he a mad scientist of wrestling behind the scenes or is he just out of his mind?

I saw on Tumblr a gifset from Barrett/Ziggler a few weeks ago on Raw and they're talking to each other as the crowd's chanting "This is awesome." Barrett goes "we're doing pretty good brother" to which Dolph replies "we're hot brother!" It's pretty cool honestly.
