World Championship Wrestling presents Thunder 1-6-2000

Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan are the commentators for this edition of Thunder!
- Tenay welcomes everyone to Thunder. He quickly asks Heenan what he thought of what Guerrero did on Monday.
- Heenan loves it. Heenan says its time for other people named Hogan, Flair and Sting to get their due. It’s about time someone spoke up.
- Tenay hypes up that DDP and Booker T will be action.
- Heenan mentions the main event. Sting and Ric Flair will team up to face Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner.
- Tenay puts over that main event and hands it over to David Penzer for the first match.
Match #1: Rey Mistero Jr. defeated Psicosis in 10:35 to reach the fatal four way for the vacant WCW Cruiserweight Championship at Souled Out.
- Early on Rey connects with a wheelbarrow into a bulldog. Rey follows up with a springboard leg drop for a near fall.
- Psicosis comes back with a sit out inverted suplex slam. Mistero gets up holding his ribs, and Psicosis comes off the ropes and delivers a spinning heel kick.
- Delayed brain buster by Psicosis. Psicosis plays to the crowd while on the top turnbuckle.
- This allows Rey to crotch Psicosis on the top turnbuckle. Rey with a hurricanrana from the top turnbuckle! Rey only gets a near fall.
- Rey goes for a springboard cross body but Psicosis dropkicks Rey in mid air! Psicosis goes to the middle rope and delivers a leg drop and gets a near fall.
- Psicosis sends Rey into the ropes and Rey takes Psicosis down with a head scissors takedown. Psicosis is chest first on the middle rope.
- Rey comes off the ropes and deliver a tiger feint kick and Psicosis falls backward. Rey goes to the apron and after a brief taunt springboards off the top rope but Psicosis manages to catch Rey and connects with a sit down power bomb!
- Psicosis goes for the cover but only gets a two count. Psicosis sends Rey into the corner and Rey drops down. Psicosis charges and baseball slides right into Rey’s groin.
- Psicosis with a scoop slam on Rey. Psicosis goes to the top and misses a moonsault!
- Rey heads over to the apron and springboards off the top rope and connects with a hurricanrana into a pin for the win!

Gene is standing in the ring and introduces Ric Flair.
- Flair comes out to a great reception and he does his usual taunt.
- Gene asks Flair how he is feeling after the attack of Scott Steiner on Nitro.
- Flair says that Scott Steiner doesn’t have the “balls” to fight him face to face. Flair reminds Gene that the Horsemen are the master of taking people out. Steiner didn’t come close to taking Flair out.
- Gene puts over Scott Steiner size.
- Flair says that size doesn’t matter to him. “How many World Championships has that freak held?”
- Flair says that Steiner can try to make himself a main event star, but he won’t be the guy that Steiner beats.
- Flair says that for as big as Steiner is, he lacks that much intelligence.
- Flair proceeds to get all riled up and challenges Steiner to a match at Souled Out. He says that after the match, when Flair cripples Steiner Midejah will want to be with a REAL man!
- Gene puts over the possible Flair/Steiner match at Souled Out as Flair heads to the back.

Match #2: Norman Smiley defeated Reno in 5:50 to retain the WCW Hardcore Championship
- Smiley enters the ring and Reno delivers several kendo stick shots to Norman.
- Reno goes for a power bomb but Smiley takes Reno down with a backdrop. Smiley grabs a chair and leg drops the chair onto Reno for a near fall.
- Smiley grabs a trash can and deliver shot over Reno’s head. Smiley with a belly to belly suplex on the trash can! Reno kicks out.
- Reno with a low blow using the kendo stick. Reno with a DDT onto the chair.
- Reno goes for the Roll of the Dice.
- However, Smiley reverses and locks in the cross face chicken wing. Reno passes out.

- Gene asks what Hart’s major announcement is?
- Hart says that on Saturday Night he will be showcasing a man who will run through WCW and bring Hart the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

- Finlay slaps Morrus right across the face and both men begin to trade right hands. Finlay gains the advantage.
- Finlay with a clothesline in the corner and snap mares Morrus down and connects with a rolling neck breaker. Short arm clothesline as well by Finlay.
- Morrus manages to send Finlay into the corner and connects with a big splash. Morrus with a scoop slam and goes to the top turnbuckle.
- Morrus comes off and misses a moonsault. Finlay plants Morrus with a DDT.
- Finlay comes off the ropes and runs into a power slam by Morrus. Morrus with a backbreaker.
- Morrus misses a big splash in the corner. Morrus comes out and Finlay plants Morrus with a tombstone pile driver for the win.

- Crowbar charges towards Booker but nails a spinning wheel kick.
- Crowbar manages to avoid a scissors kick and catches Booker with a super kick. Booker stumbles back into a corner.
- Crowbar misses a running spear in the corner. Booker pulls Crowbar out of the corner and connects with the Book End for the win.
- After the match, Booker taunts to the camera saying “watch out Scott Hall, I’m coming for you SUCKA!”

- Saturn with the early advantage taking DDP down with a nicely executed exploder suplex.
- Saturn with a springboard tornado DDT for a near fall. Saturn pulls DDP up and is met with a discus clothesline.
- Page with a swinging neck breaker for a near fall. Page pulls Saturn up but Saturn takes Page over with a overhead belly to belly suplex.
- Saturn with a Northern lights suplex for another near fall. Saturn goes to the apron and attempts a slingshot leg drop but Page manages to avoid the move.
- Page ducks a wild clothesline and takes Saturn down with a back suplex.
- Saturn is hurting and attempts another clothesline but Page ducks and plants Saturn with a float over DDT! Page gets a near win.
- Page backs Saturn into a corner and deliver several right hands. Page goes to the center of the ring and charges towards Saturn but Saturn delivers a super kick.
- Saturn with a double under hook backbreaker. Saturn with a springboard moonsault for another near fall.
- Slingshot leg drop by Saturn but only gets another near fall. Saturn signals for the Death Valley Driver.
- Saturn has Page set up, but Page fights out and nails Saturn with the Diamond Cutter for the win!
- DDP celebrates, but that doesn’t last long as Shane Douglas appears on Thunder vision.
- Douglas sarcastically congratulates Page for his win.
- Douglas proceeds to say that Page appears to be worth his time now.
- He says that Kimberly wasn’t worth WCW money. Nor would she be worth Douglas’s money.
- Page is livid at that insult. Page grabs a microphone and tells Douglas he wants him at Souled Out.
- Douglas laughs and asks if Page thinks Douglas is afraid. Because he is not.
- Douglas says that he accepts but wants to be able to kick Page’s ass all over the arena. He challenges Page to a Falls Count Anywhere match.
- Page accepts and Douglas laughs to end the segment.

Gene is with Sting in the backstage area.
- Gene asks why did he save Hogan from the beating on Nitro even with their history?
- Sting says that Hogan has apologized and everyone deserves to get a second chance. Even if he may not like Hogan, he isn’t going to let that no good Kevin Nash get involved.
- Sting has had a issue with Nash for years. But has but them aside for the sake of the business. But he can’t any longer.
- Sting mentions that he was the face of WCW before Nash, Hogan, and Hall took his spot. He has done everything he can for the company while Hogan and Nash have looked out for themselves.
- “I’ve saved Hogan once, I am not about to do it again.”
- Sting also mentions that he doesn’t know if he can trust Flair. But he knows one thing. Flair is all about the business, and not himself.
- Gene asks Sting about his thoughts on Guerrero/Booker. Sting says that he was at that point before, and gets what they are saying.
- Shockingly, Sting appears to be supporting their efforts as long as they “don’t get in my way.”
- Sting walks off for his tag team match.

Match #6: Kevin Nash/Scott Steiner defeated Ric Flair/Sting in 11:19
- Nash and Flair start the match off , but Flair taunts Steiner by flexing towards Steiner.
- Nash with a knee to Flair’s midsection. Nash sends Flair into the ropes but Flair ducks a big boot and delivers several chops backing Nash into a corner.
- Flair with a few jabs to the midsection of Nash. Flair goes over to spit on Steiner and turns around right into a big boot.
- Nash with a walking side slam. Flair is holding his back in pain. Nash tags in Steiner who takes Flair down with a belly to belly suplex.
- Steiner sends Flair into the ropes and lifts him into the air with a military press slam but Flair rakes Steiner in the eyes and chop blocks Steiner’s knee. Flair goes to work on Steiner’s knee while letting out several “Woo’s”
- Flair backs Steiner into his corner and delivers several chops and boots to Steiner’s knee. Flair brings Steiner out of the corner and connects with a vertical suplex that took a lot of Flair’s back. Sting gets a tag.
- Sting with several clotheslines, Steiner continues to get up and Sting connects with a military press slam.
- Sting with a boot to the midsection and connects with a running one arm bulldog and gets a near fall. Sting goes over to Nash and punches Nash off the apron.
- Sting turns around and Steiner connects with a gut wrench suplex. Steiner grabs Sting and delivers a pump handle drop. Steiner with a few pushups and flips off Flair.
- Steiner tags in Nash. Nash pulls Sting up and Sting delivers a few right hands. Sting sends Nash into the corner and connects with the Stinger Splash! Nash stumbles out hunched over and Sting leaps off the middle turnbuckle connects with bulldog.
- On the floor, Steiner has nailed Flair with a pipe. Steiner snuck over as Flair was trying to get a tag from Sting. Steiner with the Steiner Recliner on Flair on the floor with the pipe around Flair’s throat.
- Sting tries to go to the floor, but Nash delivers a few clubbing blows. Nash sets Sting up and connects with the jackknife power bomb for the win!
- Steiner continues to work on Flair after the match and is clearly heard saying “I’ll see you at Souled Out!“ Before entering the ring and locking the Steiner Recliner on Sting as Nash slaps Sting across the face several times.
